StarieMichie  Cockery traveled out from his Ninja Valley into the more populated area. It had been a while since he had a conversation with anyone other than his family. In reality; he hadn't been doing much of anything lately, and was bored. He had that itch to do something, anything, but he didn't know what to do. All of his focus had been on building up and developing his Ninja Macaw clan, but he had been restless and distracted as of late. Maybe meeting someone new would help get him out of his funk.

The Baron was lounging around the meadow, sniffing about for berries, feathers, or really anything he could try to use as barter at the trading post. He needed a good stiff drink and those damned raccoons were being awfully stingy with their firewater recently.
The blistering sun didn't seem to bother him much; after all in his homelands this would have been considered only a mild day, but nevertheless he has removed his jacket and had it slug casually over his shoulder. He looked up when he saw movement come into the meadow, and gave the newcomer his best smile; which always came off a bit chilling and creepy.

StarieMichie Ew. Cockery shuddered a little at the sight of the first new Soquili he had encountered in a long time. This guy would not have been his first pick to head up the welcoming squad. Cockery's creep-dar was going off the charts; he'd have to be careful around this one. Trying to be polite, he smiled back. He had a great smile; he was awesome at smiling. Then again, Cockery was awesome at everything, and he made sure that everyone knew that. "Hello," he said, "Are you from these parts, or are you a fellow traveler? Because I don't think I've met anyone quite like you before... um, in a good way! Yeah, totally in a good way. I'm not weirded out at all." Alright, maybe Cockery wasn't awesome at everything.

Baron burst out laughing at the bungled greeting from the stranger, finding it endlessly amusing. He was used to a whole array of reactions to his appearance, but this had to be one of the best. "Hello dere, bird-thing," he said, coming over to him. "I've been here fa a while, but originally? No no. I come from de islands, yeh? What about you? Where de you come from that dat causes yer hair to stick up like dat?"
He looked the stranger over, amusing by his hair and the c**k in his walk. He seemed interesting at least so far... maybe he knew were to get some better grub than foraging around the grass.

StarieMichie Was he laughing at him? Oh yeah, this guy was totally laughing at him. Cockery inflated himself and tried to look extra macho. "Hello there, bone-thing." he replied, mocking the other's greeting, "I am from a long line of Ninja Macaws. A Bad Man With Fire came and wiped out everyone but me, so that would explain why you're never had the pleasure of seeing someone this good looking before. It is my duty to rebuild my clan and seek vengeance for the death of everyone I knew and loved." He couldn't help it, it was in his nature to over-disclose with long monologues. "You can call me Cockery. And you, islander, what is your name?"

"I ain't nevah seen a macaw dat looks like dat," he said, nodding to him with a gleam in his eye. "And I seen a lot of macaws, yah? More like a ...what are dey called again? Cockatoo, no? Or maybe you got dat hair from de ninjas."
He chuckled, still seeming amused. "I dunt know no ninjas. Dey sound like something exotic tho. I am sorry to hear about your brothers. Have you found dis 'Bad Man' yet? Gotten yer revenge?"
He seemed genuine enough; his tone was more playful than mocking. "I am known as deh Baron. Baron Samedi, nice to meet you, Mista Cockery."

StarieMichie Maybe Cockery had misjudged this Baron Samedi. He talked a little strange, and he looked really strange, but he seemed nice enough. Cockery rolled his eyes up to try to look at his own hair. Maybe it did look a little like the crown on a Cockatoo. Wherever it came from, it really was badass, and he liked it that way. "It's nice to meet you also. And no, I have yet to avenge all the wrong wrought by the Bad Man. I must quest long and hard to find him; nothing will stand in my way." Cockery could talk about himself all day, but he didn't want to be rude... or at least more rude than he already had been, although he would never admit it or apologize. "So, Baron, you said you've been here a while. You like it, yes? Do you miss the islands you're from? I miss my original homeland, but I can never go back because it's a pile of ash and bad memories." ((And now I'm off for the day! Thanks for RPing! <3 Hopefully we can pick it back up later.))

"It seem like you may need a bit of luck," he said, looking down at the necklace he was wearing. It was a conglomeration of brightly colored beads, feathers, small bones, sea shells, coins, ribbons, bits of hair and fur, and little wood carvings. He seemed to contemplate, then plucked a small charm off his necklace - a cross made from sticks, tied together with some kind of hair, with a dime-sized pounded metal button dangling form it that seemed to have a veve etched into it. "Dere you go," he said, around his teeth that he used to hold it out to Cockery, "Dis should help you on your way, eh? Its good luck."
He gave his disarming smile again. "Aye, I miss dem islands very much. I would like ta go back one day, but I seem to have misplaced my wife. I reckon I wan ta find her one day before I go back. But in de meantime, I have been enjoying dis place just fine."
