Kyrie had taken to expanding her explorations further and further from the nest, so to speak. With each new treasured find, her curiosity grew. If this little nook and cranny had held such an awesome find, what would the next one hold. This was how she found herself wandering through the halls of the Pantheon, looking for the next little bit of treasure to add to her ever growing collection. Coming to a door she vaguely recognized from and excursion with her mother and siblings, she studied it a moment, then stepped forward to ease it open. Peeking around it, her eyes opened wide.
The library!
She remembered coming to the library once before. It had been where she had met the man with the golden wings. Maybe he was around and she could see them again. Slipping through the opening, she let the door swing shut behind her and she boldly stepped further into the vast space.

Silence had seemed quite busy as of late, though for the first time, Lament had a good idea of what actually took up so much of his friend's attention.
Or, rather, who. It had been her mother who had inadventantly dropped the ball. Would Akakios tease Endiovar horribly the next time they met ? Most likely. Silence would be able to do the same for him, so he figured it evened out.
For now, though, he was left to make sure the library was in some sort of order before he left. Not many came here unless they were searching something - he more often than not had his aunt for company. Now, however, he was alone, and shelving books when he heard the door open and close.
Hmm. As it often did, curiosity would have the best of it, and Lament would come into sight from in between one of the many row of dark wood shelves. What he saw was a surprise - not the child he was more used to dealing with, but still, one of his cousins. "Kyrie !" Had the little crow sneaked off like Caelia was so good at doing ?

Kyrie had just approached a table with some books on it when the call of her name made her jump, almost guiltily. Turning quickly, she fluffed her feathers excitedly when she saw who had spoken, and hop skipped over to her big cousin.
"Hello Kios!" she called with a wave before coming to a leaping halt before him. "Whatcha doing?" she asked, tilting her head back to peer up at him. "Are you looking for stuffs too?"

As far as he was concerned, that little bit of guilt was enough to inform him that, yes, his cousin had sneaked out. But could he blame her ? He had done the same thing on occasion - mostly to sneak off to this very place. He had never been as bad as his brother, no, but he did have a bit of mischief under his sleeve.
"I am shelving books, actually. Sometimes people come to read, then forget to put them back. Or they put them back in the wrong place." He'd had the whole layout of the library memorized so completely that he probably could have weaved his way around blindfolded. "Would you like to help ? Or you can follow me and see if you find any shinies."

Kyrie's attention drifted to the shelves and the books they contained. "But if they don't put them back or put them in the wrong place, how can we find them again?" she asked and turned her blue eyes back up to him. "I want to help! I can be a big help," she declared as she puffed her chest and feathers with pride. "If they aren't where they should be, how do you know where they go?" she asked and her little dark hand found its way into his larger one as she waited for him to show her what to do.

He would let go of the books he was already carrying to take her little dark hand, and the books would simply move and float around them, held out by his mana as he started walking again.
"Well, all these shelves are for one type of book. The library is broken down by sections." He would stop at the end of the bookcase and show her the plaque - they were in the legends section right now. "This helps anyone find what they are looking for a little easier." One book would be tucked into it's spot with a flick of the wrist. "There's also a big map close to the entrance that tell you where which section is where. The books are numbered by sections, too. so depending on the number it tells you where on the shelf it goes. There is a archive books with all the numbers, but I just remember which books go where. I am very familiar with this library."
That was almost an understatement.

Kyrie watched the books float up into the air around them. That was so cool! She wanted to be able to do that! But before she could ask, Kios began answering her previous questions. Looking to the plaque, she tried to make out what it said. Narrowing her eyes in concentration, she tried very hard, but then her attention was pulled back to her cousin. Listening with the fragile intensity of a child, she found it difficult to fully concentrate as the books shifted and moved to slide onto shelves. Oh! Numbers! She knew all about numbers. She liked them. They told how much of something she had.
"Woooow. You just remember? For every book?" she asked with awe. "Why do you like the library so much Kios?"

"Hm-n. I do." The mind was a powerful thing, really. He had trained himself to remember, though he had to admit it would probably have been impossible for a mortal to do the same... Completely, at any rate.
"I have always liked books." He had been drawn to reading and writing for a very young age, though his first attempts had not been very good ones. "So it would make sense that I like a place with a lot of them, no ?" Akakios smiled.

Kyrie listened to her cousin with open awe. That was the coolest thing ever! To just remember any book in all of the hundreds and hundreds of tomes that filled this space. That was pretty darn awesome in her eyes.
Skipping a little beside him as they continued down the long row, she stopped at his final words to look up at him. "I think that makes sense. I like to be where there are lots of new and interesting things to look at," she nodded. "Daddy's space is fun for that. He has lots of pretty bones. But I like Mommy's quills and things too. I was looking for a new place to find lots of new and interesting things."

"Books are full of interesting things." So as far as he was concerned, Kyrie had come to the right place. "Legends, stories, information about things... About people who lived a long time ago..." The wonders were endless, as far as he was concerned.
Though would such things hold the little Crow's attention for long ? Maybe yes, and maybe no. These were treasures for the mind and not for the eye, after all.

"I like stories! I like them a lot. My favourite stories are about treasure and magic and weird things like giants," Kyrie declared with excitement. Again her eyes roamed the many treasures around them. She had never read a story before, though her mother read to both her and her siblings and that was fun. But how could she do it on her own? She had not yet learned the finer points of reading quite yet.
"Kios? What's your favouritest book in the whoooooole library?" she asked and swung his hand a little as her mind tried to puzzle out how she could fully grasp the treasures sitting right before her.

Stories with treasures, magic, and giants, hn ? Well, it was easy to find anything that at least met one of these criterias.
As they walked, the books would continue to move and place themselves, "That is an hard question, Kyrie." He had many he came to again and again... But to pick one among those ? It seemed impossible, really. "I am not sure I could narrow it to just one."
Still, he reached out and one of the books would come to him - a massive tome that she likely would have not been able to carry if she tried, leather-bound. "But this would be one of them."

Kyrie was not flummoxed by her cousin's response. She had many, many treasures now. She was not entirely sure if she could pick her absolute favourite one. Turning her head as a massive book removed itself from a shelf and floated towards them, she bounced a little and reached out to gingerly touch it with her little fingers. It was soooooo big! "Why is this one of them?" she asked with awe in her voice. "Does it have stories about treasure and magic inside?" she asked and looked up at him quizzically. She hoped that it did. Those were her absolute favourite stories to be told.

"It is a tome containing many mortal legends and oral traditions that were eventually put to paper as the civilizations developed written word. Often, legends changes and shift a little with every storyteller that passes it along. They all pass some of themselves with it, even if they are not aware of it. And they all have a bit of truth to it if you dig deep enough."
This was not truly answering answering Kyrie's question yet answering it at the same time. Another book would be pulled from the shelf as they passed the section on fiction. A much smaller one, simply tilted 'Alice In Wonderland'.

Kyrie tried to puzzle through that for a moment or two. There were stories people told but they were true and they had all been written down and put in this massive book. She didn't quite understand what he meant by the people passing themselves along with the stories.
"So all of these stories are true?" she asked, her mind latching on to the simplest of that bit of information and over simplifying it further. "Is that why you like them so much? Because they tell the truth?"
