Devil had just finished a pretty extensive workout regiment. He had a nice secluded spot in the forest that had always kept him safe and from unwanted visitors. Working his muscles was not just a hobby for him, but he knew the importance of his strength to his survival in this land. There were so many vicious Soqs of late that he had to be swifter to escape any harm. Making himself better and stronger was purely for nature's sake. His appearance was already perfect, so that was of no concern or worry to him. But bigger muscles did look and feel nice... After bathing himself and ridding any nuisances from his body, he was back and ready for any action that the day would give him. So where to go. He made his way out of the forest and to the open landscape, and saw a group of stallions in the distance. Ugh.. he thought to himself, and he turned the opposite direction down a quiet path. Starting a fight with a whole group was not what he needed right now. He continued onward, with his eyes peeled for anything or anyone interesting.

Nellene had been stalking the group of stallions, hidden amongst the trees. Her stomach growled at her. Usually stallions were not on the menu, but they were just standing there idiotically, not worried about their surroundings in the slightest bit. They were such easy prey. Unfortunately, she was too small to attack all of them, so she waited patiently for one of them to be stupid enough to leave the group. They looked dumb enough to her, she was sure she would have food in her belly, and for once she wouldn't even have to act like a stupid cow to achieve a meal. But after a few hours it seemed the stallions had no interest in parting ways. Her tail flicked in annoyance behind her and she began to think of ways to lure them one by one, but her stomach was now so empty that she knew she would have to find easier dinner. Snarling to herself, she turned to go. But something caught her eye, the form of a stallion slinking away. Judging by his disgusted face, he was just as annoyed by the stallions as she was and was not a part of their company. Had she not been so hungry she would have felt some empathy towards him. With a pleased grin, she slipped into the trees in his direction, hoping to cut him off.
She succeeded in beating him to a clearing, she could hear heavy footfall approaching. With a deep breath, she got herself into character, pinning her scaly wings to her side and beginning to sob lightly. "Oh, please...Help," she said as the stallion came towards her. She easily faked a limp, her face pitiful and full of fake pain. If he came close to inspect it would be easier to get at his neck. If he came to help, he was done for. There was a time in her life when she probably would have wanted caring attention, when she would have loved to be swept off her feet and rescued. But that was not who she was today, at least not on the surface. She hadn't hoped for such a thing in a long, long time.
"Can you help me?" she pleaded, blinking tears from her face. If he was anything like those other stallions, he would be easily fooled and easily manipulated. Stallions see weakness and beauty and come to the rescue every time. She held back a smirk, her eyes twinkling maliciously behind fake tears. She very much disliked crying and it was not her usual method of getting her way, nor was eating other Soquili really her preference, but desperate times called for desperate measures...

As Devil trudged forward along the quiet trail he was somewhat shocked to see a mare appear in the distance. When he heard a small cry for Help, he wasn't quick in responding at all. No aid was worth it unless he knew he was getting something out of it. Doing anything, ever, was worth it unless he knew he was getting something out of it...
The situation did keep him a bit cautious and curious. Once he was able to survey the mare a bit closer, he realized she was no ordinary mare in breed. He couldn't pinpoint what breed she was due to her manipulation skills, but he was no stranger to the air changing the closer he got to her. How dangerous was she? He was feeling a bit intrigued to find out, but who knew how long his curiosity would last in this situation.
A smirk caught his own lips as the game continued and she asked for him to help her. "You look perfectly fine to me." He felt his eyes roll naturally while still maintaining a safe distance. "Whoever you are, I don't play games, so what is it you want?" Whether she was dangerous or not, Devil would still be Devil and have little patience for any situation he wasn't controlling.

Her eyes narrowed despite her determination to achieve dinner. She faked tears for a few more moments, assessing the situation with cold calculation. This stallion was far from those she had passed to cut him off. She had to admit that her appetite was momentarily halted by curiosity towards the stallion's reactions to her tears, but she had to resist the urge to strike when his grey eyes rolled back. How had he known? Her act would have been enough to cause the whole group of stallions running, and she was beginning to ponder turning back and trying it on them instead, judging by this stallion's face. All pretense dropped, her face became smooth and cold once more, the tears vanishing as quickly as they had come.
"I want what any girl wants...a good meal and a place to rest while I...digest," she said acidly, her voice low again in contrast to the high-pitched mare she had previously pretended to be. Her tail flicked menacingly behind her as her eyes searched him, waiting for his answer. Perhaps if she could keep him talking she could make a meal out of him yet. He seemed like he would enjoy talking about himself. She grinned slowly, making sure he was fully aware that it was not a fake, innocent smile, but remaining cautious to keep her plans hidden from him.
OMG I'm soo sorry, I forgot to add this RP to my teepee and had to go hunting for it. xD

The mares response made it clear that Devil had to be careful. It was as if within seconds she transformed into something sultry and dangerous. The mare probably had no idea that sultry and dangerous was definitely his favorite look, but not when it actually meant he was in danger, or let alone near death. "I see. But why choose a meal that's as good looking as I am? That would be a pity to the world." He winked at her lightly while keeping his stance firm in front of her. He may have been a talker, but he would hold his ground. "You missed your perfect opportunity, or 'tunities just moments ago. See those bull-headed stallions nearby? They'd do anything for a little coo-ing, and BAM, they're so easily dead." He snorted with a light eye roll. This mare was probably an expert with most of the idiots he knew in the land. But it seriously wasn't hard to get what one wanted if done correctly. It was so easy to get whatever they wanted, and survive in that way. "Well anyway, I commend your effort, ------ what is your name? Or are we still in that awkward phase where you want to eat me?" Devil would happily fight back, perhaps it would be a good workout if this mare dared. "I'm Devil, naturally."

Her tail flicked again, this time in utter amusement. "You're right," she eyed him up and down again, this time taking in the attractive qualities he possessed. Although her stomach was telling her that he would look better dead, she began to realize that dinner was not an option with this stallion. Delicious though he might have been, he was far more entertaining than she had originally thought.
For the first time in a long time she felt naked as he repeated her exact thoughts out loud. He could see right through her. She should have expected that there would be others in the world who were not stupid enough to believe her. But all the same, she would have to double her practice later. Her eyes narrowed suspiciously, but finally she gave in. "Nellene," she practically purred, regaining her composure and smirking at the stallion. And a devil he was, so his name was only fitting.
"So, Devil," she said, placing emphasis on his name, "what are you doing in these parts? Hoping to make a meal of stallions as well?" She laughed lightly, hunger once again dripping in her voice as she indicated towards the stallions. Her eyes sparked as she looked back at him, this time the look was not one of malicious intent, but rather one of subtle curiosity.

The interesting mare in front of him had once again shifted her stance and seemed to not want to kill him as badly. That amused Devil. Perhaps they were getting along in theory? Or perhaps they were both too intrigued to be violent? Either way there was benefit for both of them, so that alone gave Devil the ammunition he needed to stick around and give her the time. "Nice to meet you, Nellene." He finally commented, while his clouded eyes continued to look her over. "Oh, nothing in particular." he then added, while stomping his hoof lightly. "I tend to start s**t to test my strength, or deny idiots intelligence when prompted or bothered." His life was not too complicated compared to her tactics. "Although I seemed to have ruined a hunt for you. If we see anyone approaching in the distance I will certainly move out of the way." He didn't mind her needs. He was starting to see it lightly.. although she looked like a natural mare, was she.. a Kalona? "Interesting." He spoke out loud as he finally noticed her destructive tail. "You are a Kalona mare with strategy and tactics. I literally don't understand the ones that are only violent with no plan of attack in life." Whoever was dumb enough to not be strategic gave Devil migraines. Strategy was his blood. "What's your story, Nellene? Why not join other Kalonas?" He tone was not judgmental, in fact he was very curious.

Tweekend This. Took. Forever! So sorry, hope you're still up for continuing. smile It seemed only fitting that he liked to start chaos with others. She smirked and decided that she liked this stallion. "Isn't it so fun to play with others?" she smiled, baring her long, white fangs as she did so. She nodded in approval at his acceptance of her hunger. Oh, what a gentleman. She thought to herself sarcastically.
Her eyes darkened at the thought of other Kalonas and she turned her gaze away from him for the first time, releasing her wings from her side. She thought of her large family, her competitive siblings always pushing her down the ranks. She remembered all too well why she had left that life behind. What she wanted, what every Kalona wanted, was power. How could she achieve any of her goals amongst a group of power-hungry idiots trying to take over the world? No, it was better that she was separate from them. Because even the power hungry could be manipulated, and even her own kind were easy to sway. She didn't care how she got her power, even if it meant stepping on the toes of her own flesh and blood.
She turned her eyes back upon Devil, their cold gaze unwavering as she said, "Other Kalonas are weak." It was true. Too many of them relied on a herd, it was doubtful they knew hunger as she did. Even those that relied on their brute strength were weak in the mind. "You said it yourself, strategy and tactics outshine outright violence," she said, looking him up and down, "And what about you, Devil, why not join the group of stallions over there?" Nellene joining a group of Kalonas would be the equivalent amount of torture as Devil joining the stallions, she was sure. Perhaps they were both built for the comforts of solitude. Or perhaps he had been shaped into what he was now. Her eyes fell upon his chains out of simple curiosity, but she didn't care to ask where they had come from. She hated nosiness, and his questions were already making her uneasy despite the fact that she was enjoying speaking with him.

Baby Pandah Omg don't even worry! Happy to keep going though x3 <3 He noticed a shift in the mare's demeanor and wondered if he was navigating appropriately and to her liking. On the flip side, she seemed more relaxed in front of him, so it appeared that neither had a reason to be on edge as much anymore. Perhaps they were agreeing and speaking more in tune then he had originally thought? His interest continued to peak. "Other Kalonas are indeed weak. They stick together like a bunch of dummies, relying on their leaders to live their life for them." He snorted at the thought of someone telling him what to do and how to live. "Its not that I choose to be alone, I think I survive better on my own. You seem to have done well on your own as well." And if Devil hadn't been so cautious, he could have been an easy meal for her as well. "Well, after our discussions you should go after those stallions. A lot of them looked pretty stupid." He gave her a light wink. He saw her glance towards his chains, and felt a sense of usual pride build up. "Oh, these?" He wiggled his front leg lightly. Its actually a bet between my brother and sister and I. It makes us an easy prey, you could hear us from afar but... we haven't had a run in we couldn't handle, yet. We are always competing for strength. My father wore his chains to challenge himself, so we had to keep the legacy going." It was definitely dangerous for unicorns to be such easy preys, but they were strong, and the built skill only made them stronger. His family had its own twists and turns, just like others had normal things like... love. "See, I learned your secret, and now I can share mine with you." A tactic for a tactic. Now the world felt a bit more even.

"They did seem stupid. But I am too small to take on the whole group of them," she said, acidity in her voice. That was why she had to fake it in life and though she was good at it, she hated it sometimes.
We are always competing for strength. Her ears swiveled back as she became momentarily disgusted at the thought. It reminded her so much of her siblings, all of whom were stronger than her. Always competing, always trying to be the best. But this was different. Devil did it in an intelligent way, he challenged himself instead of others. He wore his chains with pride. She respected that.
That was right. He knew her secret now. "If you ever give me away I will not hesitate to eat you," she said, half joking, half deadly serious. Her eyes glinted dangerously, but her mouth stayed in a light smirk. Although when she thought about it, she didn't think she could eat him now. Not after talking to him. The world needed more intelligent beings like them.

"I'm not a gossiper, I won't share." He was truthful in admitting that much. He really didn't have a reason to throw her secret to another anyways. He pretty much hated everyone, so who was there to tell?
He tilted his head dramatically towards her comment of being small. "The best way to conquer any weaknesses is to overcome them and train. Why not bulk up on your strengths? You were blessed with Kalona attributes. You could certainly kick my a** in battle with some proper training." Flight was a big one too. Devil would have loved to have wings and that advantage.
His love for strength and bettering himself was a bit on the intense side, but he really felt confident in what he was sharing with her. Kalonas were born to kill, and they carried proper tails and teeth to accomplish any violent task. He had assumed she was a fighter for even encountering him so boldly. "Those stallions may be bigger, but they probably don't know the first thing about battling anyways. You can train with me some time. I wouldn't mind having a Kalona ally in case I ever got myself into a nasty predicament." Taking on a Kalona herd on his own would be a death sentence.
