Sorry about the wait!

The situation escalated far faster than he liked to admit.

Alois simply enjoyed the use of his cane.
Simultaneously, he enjoyed tormenting those who feigned strength.

Now he faced an irate throwback to the 90s, when grunge reigned supreme. While screaming obscenities, the man's fauxhawk shuddered desperately, as if trying to break free from the leagues of gel holding it in place. His clothes were no different - unconscionably tight, they fought desperately to restrain the quaking muscles beneath their taut material. Even the man's leather jacket jingled violently with the studs cracking against one another. The chains adorning his torn jeans rattled with equal fervor, using the man's rage as a sign to announce their presence. Who knows; they may just throttle someone today.

Alois surmised those studs were the real deal - not chrome-painted plastic. Perhaps it was best to avoid a shoulder jab from this fellow. On top of that, provided the grungemaster could remove them from his pants, the chains were an object of necessary avoidance.

Alois began to wonder if he should've just left this fiery fiend alone.

Is this how senshi feel when confronted with a youma? The question brought a smile to his lips.

This did nothing for his situation.

"What the hell do you think you're smilin' about, f*****t? You think this is funny? I'll tell you what's funny - the screams you'll make when I break your goddamn leg in two! Now that's downright ********' hilarious!" The rocker let out a mirthless, exaggerated laugh. "Tell you what, cripple - I'm feelin' generous. I'll even give you a head start before i kick your a**. And if you cry a little, I might not stomp your ********' skull in." The man's blood pressure emphasized the veins in his face, and he flushed red with lividity.

Someone took his prank a little too seriously.
All he did was swipe the man's fedora right off his head.

"Fascinating," Alois replied, though his comment was aimed at the prominence of the man's veins. He donned the fedora soon afterward. "Just remember zat I'm wearing your hat when you're stomping my ******** skull in. Tschüß, Schlampe*." He flashed the rocker a cocky smile before he began his 'head start' in an even, nonchalant pace.

This was going to hurt.

*Later, b***h.

It was still daylight, but it didn't matter so much for what Maia intended to do. She just wanted to visit her planet for a short time and still wanted to get back in time for her training session that night, so it was now that found her in an alleyway, henshin pen in hand to call her power. She was wary of course because it was daylight still, but this spot was prime for travel to the park when she returned.

After she successfully wrapped herself in shade of green and white, she jumped up onto the fire escape and headed up, not wanting to waste any energy, with the promise of a long night ahead of her. Reaching the roof she went to middle and sat on the concrete, summoning her phone and frowning at the noise that had started up down on the street.

She turned looking to the ledge of the building where she sat, she couldn't see down to the street, but the sound of a shouting floated to her ears. She wanted to ignore it, but she the threat of skull stomping drew her to her feet and over to the ledge of the building where she could see a man dressed very oddly shouting at another young man, who was now walking away.

The fashion reject appeared angry and poised to attack, despite the other's walking away, which caused Maia to frown. It was not often she got involved in things like this though likely because she normally didn't have a need to power up at this hour. It was really a matter for the police, but she figured she could handle it quickly, though she did fear possibly being seen and giving the senshi more bad publicity which the didn't need.

Maybe she could just give a shout to let the other know he was being watched.

The ornery man launched himself toward the misanthrope, complete with a wordless yell. Those five seconds seemed far too long, far too lenient for this spindly insect of a boy. Why did he bother giving the cripple a break again? What a pointless endeavor. The whole conversation was pointless. He should've just kicked the boy's a** without a word in edgewise. Yes, that was a far better use of his time than this back-and-forth s**t.

Alois anticipated the attack. It wasn't difficult. Anyone with half a neural synapse understood that the overinflated 90's man desperately sought to defend his honor against even minor assaults like these. That wasn't the problem.

The problem was that he had no way of dodging the aforementioned assault.

Alois would've pondered this further had an admittedly forceful fist not found its home between his shoulder blades. The force of the punch pitched him forward, though he managed to brace his fall with his hands. Still, it didn't prevent the pain from burning through his back and coaxing a wince out of him. "Scheiß'..." He cursed quietly to himself. Even with the help of a cane, returning to his feet after that one seemed a distant possibility. Well, he could certainly think of worse situations. This was far from being the most harrowing situation of his life.

And it was easily remedied.

The man soon seized a handful of his shirt, and brought Alois to face him eye to eye. Despite standing at a respectable 5'11", he feet never touched the ground in that moment of equal height. Alois found it difficult to breathe. "Any last words before I snap your neck, Nazi boy?" The man asked, his rank breath spilling across Alois' face. Soon afterward, he grinned smugly.

With one hand clutching the grunge rocker's thick forearm, he struggled against his grip. Though it took all of his mental fortitude to ignore the comment about his country's marred past, he managed to quell his seething anger. He only had one shot at this - if he screwed up, he may as well die at the hands of some nobody rocker. How ridiculous... The mind behind the iniquitous Bischofite, silenced not by a White Moon heroin, but some rowdy miscreant in the middle of the day. "Stop, alright? I'm sorry! You can haf' your hat back!" Though it took some effort, he managed a tremble in his voice.

Meanwhile he felt around his belt loops for the telltale sign of his switchblade.

The shout hadn't managed to make it past Maia's lips before the man launched an attack at the boy causing Maia expression to shift instantly into a heavy frown. A heel clicked unto the concrete of the ledge before she found herself headed toward the ground, wind pushed the three layered skirt skyward and showing off the fact that her bodice was a leotard of sorts.

She barely registered the moment between landing and her hand grasping the back of the mans collar and yanking. It was, to her, a smooth and constant movement, though in reality she had just not taken any time to recover from her heavy landing. Her legs had continued of there own accord toward her eyes' destination.

She yanked, too hard, on the collar feeling it go taunt around his neck probably choking the man slightly as she went to toss him back and away from the boy he'd attacked, his words, his apology ringing in her ears.

She was less than pleased, her frown firmly in place, as she looked at the man. How could he think he think it was okay to attack anyone, especially someone who had their back turn ... who was walking away! Did he honestly think he would get away with his actions. Maia intended to make sure that he knew he wouldn't.

"What is it exactly that you think you are doing," she questioned.

It wasn't her outfit that threw him off.

It wasn't her words, nor her demeanor, nor her appearance.

It was her actions.

She did not yield to her landing, despite jumping from a multistory building. That stuck in his mind, even as she reached for the man's neck. Even as she discarded him like trash, banishing him to the ground without a second thought. Her actions beyond that point did not matter. They did not merit registration in his mind. Even his assailant's actions failed to elicit a response from him, despite his groveling and howling about his shoulder, which he landed on soon after.

These things were of no import; she landed without a hitch.

She landed without even an inkling of pain.

Alois smiled. He used that smile to his advantage by thanking her for her actions. For saving him, though she only halted two potential deaths. But the fact that she succeeded indicated that they both wouldn't have died, even if Alois drew his knife. It didn't matter, for he understood with certainty why she stepped in. And he understood what she was,

for she was a senshi.
Proud and tall.
How... Quaint.
How enviable.

Though his assailant retreated under the guise of a dislocated shoulder, and the wrenching pop of his landing lent credence to his words, Alois did not stray from the girl. He did, however, return to his feet and obtain his cane, which was a miserable six feet of limping away. With his regrettably useless mode of transportation restored to him, he might now thank her in a way that felt meaningful.

And by meaningful, he meant exciting.

"You're a terrorist," he stated, skirting a tone of interest. No, he stated it more matter-of-factly, almost stoically. "Is zat why you're here?"

Maia smiled at the thanks, but felt slightly wary about being on the the streets in the daylight, as she was. She was very exposed, so to speak, she much preferred the cover night offers. Still she let him no that it was no problem and that she absolutely could let the man thrash him.

Her smiled turned into something of a frown, sort of stuck half way in between before shaking her head in the negative. "No I am not a terrorist. I am a senshi, a defender of justice so to speak."

She gave him a curious glance, "Do you really think me a terrorist when I've kept that man from trying to pummel you? I do not think I was particularly voilent in my action or that he was terrified. Scared yes, he probably will not be trying that again, but he'll lose no sleep."

She straightened her skirt and her smile returned to her face, glancing about momentarily to make sure their weren't prying eyes. "If you'd like to talk. I would be more than happy, but could we possible move off the street. For the obvious reason."

"Fine. You want to stay out of ze street? Your choice." Alois feigned nervousness, though inwardly he was brimming with excitement. As a civilian, he stood before what he recognized as an eternal senshi. He didn't recognize her face, nor her fuku, but the he stood so near her and she had no clue of his alter ego. Though she wasn't aware of Bischofite, he could explore his options as an unscrupulous civilian.

Alois limped toward the nearest known alley, occasionally keeping an eye on the sailor scout as he approached the destination. She appeared nice enough, especially since she tried to save some poor cripple from the violent death at the hands of the 90s, but he couldn't help himself. He always liked disturbing the enemy, and he always liked studying their motives. After all, senshi were such interesting people, from beyond the stars or not.

"Defenders of justice don't hide in ze dark, senshi." Alois stopped quite near the alley wall. "But your kind isn't like ze police. Even zough you haf' uniforms, and you claim to fight for similar ideas, you lack zat... honesty.

So tell me senshi, why do you prefer to cower in an alley zan speak wis' me out in the open? Are you afraid of someone who can't even walk on zeir own?" He smiled darkly; perhaps Bischofite was getting to him. Even without that kind of power, he maintained that iniquitous persona. How curious.

"Terrorists are ze ones zat trust ze shadows to obscure zeir deeds. You may not haf' killed zat man, but I do wonder about your actions. Your arrival was convenient, almost too convenient." He considered pressing her for answers, but relented. He tightened his grip on his cane to the point where he knew it drained his knuckles white, and watched her relentlessly. If he was to play the part of the nervous civilian, he intended to do a damned good job of it.

And if everything played out according to plan, he may even kill a senshi without even needing to power up. He could gloat about it for weeks and torment Alexandre half to death.

Maia looked at him and tried to hide her frown. He seemed nervous, so she kept a good distance from him not wanting to make him more uncomfortable, trying to to walk to fast not wanting him struggling to keep up.

She gave a solemn nod, "you are right, but our reputation isn't exactly a good one. You've questioned as to me being a terrorist and you are not the only one. I would rather not add fleeing from the police tonight. Do you honestly think, even if I am guilty of nothing, that I wouldn't be arrested for being on the street and broad daylight even if I am just having a casual conversation."

She looked up to the top of the building she had jumped from and back to the man wondering if he would allow her to take him up there. At the very least they would be able to sit, and she could always bring him down again.

"I would not have killed him. I have never killed anyone or even severely damaged someone for that matter, until now that is. I think I may have dislocated his shoulder, but that is certainly not death. I fight to defend myself and other's. I was up there," she pointed to the roof of the building, "just passing through."

And that was true though she had been stationary on the roof, "had your altercation happened a few moments later I would not have been there. It was luck plain and simple. You have nothing to fear from me. I will not harm you, though I can't say that for our enemy or their pets."

She smiled and looked back to the roof top, "I know you are wary of me. I can see it, but would you mind terribly if we go up there."

Oddly enough she'd one done it with a cane wielding civilian, trying to protect him from a youma. If he agreed, it would be an odd repeat of the scene.

"Don't you sink ze fact zat zey would arrest you at all is a good indicator zat you senshi are up to no good? Even if you personally haven't done anysing, ze police aren't apt to arrest someone for no reason." And as he implied, being a part of a terrorist gang is a damned good reason. He placed both hands on his cane and leaned on it while he continued, eyeing her warily. "People earn zeir reputations, especially groups. Even if you tell me you'f done nossing, ze senshi haf' done nossing, do you really sink I'd belief' zat? It's all over ze news, zese sings your kind haf' been up to."

She appeared flighty, and he knew not if it was due to his words or her presence in daylight. Come to think of it, he hadn't seen many senshi meandering around during typical waking hours. The fact that she was here for all to see in the early afternoon must've meant that she intended something great. Was she plotting a counterstrike against the Negaverse? Or perhaps a clandestine meeting with one of their own? Even worse, an assault on the Rift? It didn't matter; her conflicts would find their resolution soon enough.

For harming someone for the first time, she didn't appear too broken up about it. Naturally Bischofite would take an avid interest in civilian harm, but she seemed indifferent to it. Perhaps senshi weren't so terribly different; at least this one understood the worthlessness of human life and endeavors. Even if she hid behind some stilted superhero ideal, her words belied her true thoughts.

People aren't worth saving.

As she indicated the rooftop, Alois considered the possibilities. She could drop him, kill him and escape notice, or any number of things. Affording her that kind of discretion was dangerous, but... Perhaps it might end in his favor. Though the fall was long and his leg was injured, he may very well execute a damaging blow to his enemy's faction. And he wouldn't have to power up to do it.

"You really want to stay out of sight, don't you?" He feigned a mix of partially masked fear and his typical stoicism while he watched her relentlessly. Her hair spilled from her head in gouts of flaming curls, wildly framing a deep-skinned face and expressive blue eyes. She looked normal, save for her outfit. That strange bodice adorned with all things musical disrupted her typical appearance. He hadn't seen her before; did they wield some magic to conceal their identities, much like the Negaverse? How cheeky. Still, she awaited his approval, and she would receive it. "... Fine." He responded after a deep pause.

Perhaps now he might see how they bleed.

Maia shook her head, "it is only a good indicator that despite the continue unexplained goings on in the city, they still do not understand. We protect them from those that wish to harm them. One day they will see."

She sighed and shook her head in a no response, "I do not expect you to believe it. All I can do is give you my word and telling you that not that everything you see on television holds true. Even the news is edited," she said softly.

She gave a smiled when he agreed to go up with her despite his distrust of her moving over to him, "I can jump up with you, but you'll need to be close, my arm around your wait, your arm around my shoulder, should suffice to support you. Just hold on tight."

She extended her arm but not getting right up next to him, she wanted him to close the distance, hoping it would make him a little more comfortable with the leap up to the rooftop.

"Maybe zere's nossing to understand. Even zose who wish to do harm can play ze role of protector." He regarded her coldly; copious amounts of evidence from history supported his claim. Surely she understood that - the majority of senshi he encountered at least peripherally recognized his scathing points. They simply relegated to him the role of a monster, as a means to protect their fragile understandings of their plight.

But in her... He saw only opportunity.

Alois recognized the posture she described - one of field medics hoisting those wounded in battle. It fit uncannily well with his prior struggles, as he came to realize that he was, indeed, at war with himself. "Fine," He agreed, though his tone belied mild irritation. "I sink I can manage zat." Her description left one hand free for a final attempt at a senshi's life and honor - and in that instance, in that ephemeral moment with blood seeping from her gut, she would come to understand that even the city she sought to protect was rife with those waiting to pay her in spades.

With one wretched, limping step, he closed the gap between the two. After dropping the cane to the ground, he slung an arm around her shoulders. The fabric of her uniform felt soft and smooth beneath his fingertips, not unlike flesh. Did she truly think that outfit prevented harm from sinking into her skin? If she did, he'd prove that notion wrong shortly.

Maia frowned at his words, they were true, but she didnt think they applied all to much to the white moon senshi. Not these days anyway, most were very placid, not many were taking an active role in things, well not of the senshi who had been around for a while. She didn't want to think about how that in itself was very harmful.

He moved to her and grabbed hold supporting his weight easily, her senshi strenght a big help, even though she had to admit she was stronger powered down as well. How could she not be, her training, combined with dance and jogging had her in extremely good physical condition. An arm was placed around his waist, making sure she had a good hold on him and her other arm's hand grasping to arm around her shoulder, not wanting any chance that he might slip.

"On the count of three I'm going to jump, I should be able to make it in one go, I've done it before," she said softly before looking to the ledge of the rooftop.

"One ... two ... three," she said before she leap.

Alois held fast to the senshi, though he had no qualms about falling. He couldn't afford to - not if he wanted t follow through with his plans. And she felt warm, soft, vibrant just like any other girl of this world. Nothing but an outlandish outfit differentiated her from the throngs not far from here. She could've been a schoolgirl, a daughter, a sister, a girlfriend, a lifelong best friend... And those possibilities only spurred him on. To spread loss over so many - to expose the lot of them to adversity great enough to splinter their lives - he knew that they would survive or die.

Rejoin her or live on without her.

Alois couldn't say the same of himself - with a family that detested him and a piss poor track record among friends, few would be affected by his death. However, should someone spin his death as an assault via senshi... Then perhaps more would come of it. But to hope for change spurred by his death... That would be folly.

This girl, provided she was unlike him, would unlock those possibilities. Should her father be so moved that he spends time with his remaining children with such voracity that they overcame his prior ostracizing - that was a good death. For the children to know loss and receive their first lessons in proper coping, for a cherished boyfriend to surmount crippling grief and learn to value both himself as well as others, for a friend to realize that life is truly finite and to learn mindfulness of her days - he liked that idea.

Would it come to fruition? That was out of his hands. All of it was. And perhaps that was the defining draw of it all.

So they took to the air. He drew his knife. She reached the apex of her jump.

And he thrust that blade into her with as much force as he could muster.
