Malice had just finished what was a successful hunt. She found herself aching a bit from the battle she had just gotten herself into with a buck and its mate, but these battle wounds were nothing unusual to her. She liked to wear her scars with pride and the blood from her catch as a badge of honor. The buck had attacked her in an effort to survive by bashing at her left leg repeatedly, but it was nothing that wouldn't heal after a couple of days. She made sure he and the female paid for their stupid actions. Why wouldn't nature learn to just surrender in these instances?

As she consumed one of the deer in complete delight, it occurred to her she was stuck with too much food leftover. She hadn't been solo in awhile, so she didn't even think about not killing one of the creatures. She was so used to her now grown children following her and studying her tactics for what felt like ages, that now that they were grown she was back on her own again. For most mothers this would be a hard adjustment to see the kids go, but Malice was probably better off on her own anyways.

If her children were going to survive, they needed to prove themselves and do so without her. She made that very clear to them, and they of course accepted the challenge and were ready once it was time to move away from her.

She continued to eat as much game as she could before taking a moment to rest herself from all of the commotion. She knew the area she was in and also knew it was a more secluded one, but also was alert knowing there was the scent of fresh blood in the air for any others that might recognize it.

The large stallion had been swooping over the Black Skull lands much like a circling vulture, deciding to keep an aerial view of the land, its inhabitants, and any potential threats. Everything seemed quiet, which was just as well for the large, draft kalona, and if he had his way, it would stay like that. Black Skull didn't need trouble, and while he doubted anyone would be stupid enough to try something, Keiran knew that the moment someone lowered their defenses was the moment someone took them by surprise.

No, Keiran was far too suspicious and mistrustful to simply accept the quiet day for what it was, and so he kept himself working. His most beloved family were in these lands, and while each, and every one of them could hold his or own against any threat that came their way. . . well. . . . he still preferred to make sure he was keeping a pulse on things. Just in case. Nemesis was a fine protector, and he trusted his brother implicitly. . .but Nemesis could not be everywhere at once, and so Keiran made it his business to patrol when he could...because he could.

Besides, he was almost ready to strike out on his own once more, for the umpteenth time. Black Skull would stagnate if new blood wasn't introduced, and with the Kawani as limited in the pickings of pure bloods, the stallion had tried to find others. Unfortunately, he had learned early on that it wasn't as easy a task as he'd once thought. . . . Every time he struck it out, he was gone longer, and longer; forced to travel just a bit further. Who knew how long he'd be gone next time?

With that in mind, glowing, red eyes caught sight of a familiar figure. The crimson streaked mane and wings stood out against the darker, not-quite-charcoal figure; it was Malice. Unfortuantely, the blood that stained her was not at all over looked. Either she had been in a battle, or she had hunted. Either way, the stallion decided he might as well greet her, if only for a moment. It had been some time since they'd crossed paths last, and Keiran wasn't about to give up the opportunity of greeting his older sister.

Adopted he might be, he still looked upon all of Maeryn's as his siblings. Whether or not they felt the same bothered him not. It was impossible not to notice the stallion, who landed, hard, a respectful distance away. "Malice." He greeted seriously, taking note of the mangled, and chewed on corpses not far from where she was situated. Well, that explained the blood. Giving a small snort, he turned his gaze back to his sister. He wouldn't linger if she was not in the best of moods, or unwanting of company.

Malice took a moment to be content with her situation. It was quiet, bloody, and oddly peaceful in her twisted world. It wasn't always that a hunt ended so easily and that she was left with so much food to enjoy. Even though she had been busy teaching her children about the thrill and importance of a hunt, it had been some time since she brought out her own favorite skills and took it out on some poor bastards, whether for hunger or for fun.

Her ears flicked suddenly as if sensing a presence. Her eyes darted from left to right, and her body became alert at the change and scent of air. As naturally as in any situation, dire or not, Malice straightened her posture and continued to survey the situation. She would hold her ground as she had claimed it from her hunt. It wasn't long thereafter where she heard a loud thump, and her eyes glared at the presence of the stallion.

If her eyes weren't glaring at something or someone, it'd be more strange considering who she was...

As she surveyed the stallion and heard him state her name in recognition or announcement, her back leg kicked away some of the prey meat that was too close to her hooves. Now her kill was bothering her for some reason, as so much was left.

"Keiran." She nodded slightly before licking her chops again and wondering how much blood was stained on her face. "How long have you been up there spying on me?" Her cold stare remained but her mouth changed just slightly to show a smirk.

The stallion thought little on the excessive amount of prey that surrounded the glowering mare. Who was he to judge who she attacked and who she didn't? Prey was still ample enough to take the hit, and what she didn't finish, someone else inevitably would. He also didn't take her expression personally, and even if she were in a fit of temper and defense, he still wouldn't have been fussed. The large, kalona male was not notorious for a temper or ill-nature; not like some within the herd. Besides, he knew Malice well enough to know that glares were simply par for the course. He wouldn't have trusted his sister to be well if she looked any other way.

"Long enough to decide it was worth dropping by," he cheekily replied. Strange really, though his own stoic expression didn't change, there was perhaps a touch of good-humor in his words. This black stallion was in a good mood. He gave a stretch of his wind-worn wings, glad for a momentary respite. He'd been circling for a good while now, and though he was not particularly exerting himself, now that his hooves had touched the earth, it felt good. Maybe he wouldn't need to so swiftly return to his aerial rounds.

"I see you've made a mess of things down here." He complimented, not at all put off by the blood, or the ripped up chow she was -- presumably -- saving. It looked like she'd had more than a bit of hunting luck, and it would serve her well. "They didn't stand a chance." It was more of a comment to himself, but there was indeed truth in the matter. Malice was a formidable opponent, after all.

Even though Keiran was known as an ally to the family as well of the herd, Malice wasn't sure if she trusted him so easily. She knew that there was no threat at this immediate moment or probably ever due to his closeness to the family, but she didn't have the closest relationship to him or know that much about him. The times she had seen him were usually within the group or with her mother around. She found it interesting he went out of her way to approach her once he spotted her. He had made the effort, perhaps she should try as well.

"I haven't seen you in awhile so I think it was a good decision as well." Formalities were not Malice's favorite thing or best tactic, but she was semi trying in this moment. "Were you in the middle of a hunt or scouting anything in particular?"

When he commented on the mess and her abilities, she nodded lightly and looked around her. "I seemed to have killed an extra idiot due to their bad timing to the situation. Feel free to eat the rest if you would like or are hungry." She honestly would have left the meat there eventually, so sharing seemed like a smart choice. Feeding the herd was not in her job description, but she'd always go out on a limb when the opportunity was available for her kin. "How have things been with you." She almost didn't ask it as a question, but again, was trying her best to reach out to better understand Keiran. "It has been awhile, hasn't it?"

Sorry for the delay! Vacation and side projects kept me away. :c

Keiran could not help but look upon Maeryn's children as if they were his own siblings, his own family. He was aware enough to know that he possessed no blood relation to those within Black Skull, but it had only been Maeryn that he'd known as mother. She had found him abandoned, no mother, no father, no scent or trail, and she had taken him under her wing and returned him to the herd as her own. Granted, Keiran had not forged close relationships with his much older step-siblings, but that did not mean he did not look upon them as kin, regardless of how they might feel about it.

Malice, he knew, was a mare not to take lightly. The fact she was sparing a few words for him was a pleasant surprise, though he knew not to dally. He had work to do, at any rate, and he doubted she would want her time wasted with little reason. "Scouting." He admitted with a small nod of his head. "The herd lands are large, and with new kalona taking interest in Black Skull, I'd rather be certain our borders are secure." That, and he rather detested being idle. He was a warrior, but there wasn't often much to fight. Furthermore, Keiran didn't have much in way of hobbies -- his hobbies were work, and that meant hunting, killing, sparring, training, or scouting. Wash, rinse, repeat. So, if he wasn't off on his great quest for a mare, he was making work.

When Malice invited him to share in her kill, glowing red eyes dropped down to study the dead meat. Giving a small grunt, the stallion decided to take her up on her offer. He was confident he could take down his own prey, but it was fresh, and he wasn't going to give up such an opportunity and let the deer go to waste. Any leftovers could be scavenged by others, but if Malice was finished, why not partake? "...Thanks." He added, stepping forward towards the remains.

Today seemed particularly auspicious, and Malice in a rather generous mood. Perhaps that was a good sign, especially for his quest. Small talk wasn't often Keiran's strong point, but he did let himself loosen up around family. He wasn't a particularly chit-chatty stallion, but if Malice could try, so could he. He had been the one to drop down, after all. "Things have been well enough. I'll be leaving Black Skull again in a few days -- perhaps half a year this time, perhaps longer, unless I get lucky." He gave a small snort, demon tail snaking behind him in irritation. Every time he left, he had had to travel further and further, and be away from Black Skull longer and longer.

Finding pure kalona in the Kawani, and the lands beyond, was not an easy mission. Though, given how many cross-breeds and mixed-bloods coudl be found surrounding Black Skull alone, it was no wonder their numbers had fallen so few. "Yourself?" He took a moment to dig into the carcass, not at all concerned with the blood or mess he might make.

No worries at all <3 And no apologies needed!!

Malice listened quietly as Keiran gave his explanation on the various and activities. She was glad he was always working so hard towards the herd. Malice had not been the best or productive herd member, and even when convincing Mae and Rot before his passing in choosing Toku for creating more offspring for their cause, what Keiran was doing seemed more practical and justified. To this day she was grateful her mother accepted her perfect grandchildren, but had yet to accept Toku. That would most likely never happen. She knew she had brought more pures into the herd, but the whole ordeal had not been as glorious as she or her parents had thought. Oh well. At least her children took after her the most. They even had received traits and genes from their grandparents, which made everyone pleasantly surprised in the strength of their blood.

"Have you found success in recruitment?" she was generally interested and hoped numbers were decent. Malice would have been a terrible recruiter, and she knew that. If statistically more then half of her own conversations ended in blood, she knew she'd be terrible at communicating with strangers, even pures. "I'd like to see the herd grow, I feel like I've watched it fluctuate over the years." She knew how important it was to keep everything her parents had worked for alive. "We all appreciate how much time you are giving for the cause." She blinked at him lightly, but chose not to change her reaction or expression. She meant her subtle statement and knew Keiran had chose quite a destiny for himself.

She was glad to see him eating and accepting her offer for a meal. As difficult as she was, she would not refuse a kin member food. As she watched him eat, a part of her was curious and grateful that he had come into her mother's life. Malice wondered if she should trust him merely on the fact that her mother trusted him, or the fact that he was raised by her as well. Typically Malice always believed in anything her mother had done or chosen, so why the doubts? Yes she had walls that she had kept up for safety, but in this case it didn't make much sense. This was her brother, and that was how it was told to her and other siblings.

At his inquiry on what she had been doing, she snapped out of her deep thoughts. "Now that all of my children are trained and on their own, I may spend more time with the herd and see how I can contribute." It felt like a weird thing to admit, but as much as Malice liked to put on a cold face for motherhood, she adored her children and their strength. They all were as marvelous as she and her siblings had been. "I won't be able to get more members, but I can certainly protect the outskirts." She smirked lightly.

Keiran was far younger than even his youngest of older siblings. He had not come in to Maeryn's life until some time after the protector's death. Still, he had been raised under the belief that it had been the spirits themselves -- perhaps Rot himself - who had lead his stumbling form close enough for the mare to hear his cry. He had been terribly young, newly born, and very much alone. So while the blood that ran through his veins was not the same, it did not matter to him.

Family was family, and he came from a very strong, very proud family line and herd. He looked up to Maeryn, and while perhaps his relationship was strained, or even non-existent with some of his older siblings, it mattered not to him. They were still his family. He truly lived for Black Skull, and his dedication was clear.

He had always been serious, and had absolutely devoured the teachings of his mother. Black Skull came first, no matter what. If the kalona line were to remain strong and pure, they would have to do what they could to keep the herd strong. New blood, new faces, new life. . . "Minimal success," he finally responded, pulling off a chunk of sweet muscle. "These lands are so overwhelmed with weak blood and crosses, finding pures is difficult." He growled a bit, his frustration at the statement clear. "It's why I've taken to recruiting outside the Kawani. . . Unfortunately," he stated, digging his cloven hoof irritably in the fallen carcass, "Even the outside lands are deprived or just as twisted. It seems as if our kind has often taken to growing fond of the lessers, breeding with them, siding with them. . . We are, I dare say, an endangered race."

He gave a snort at the term. Even if their kind was rare and few and far between, Keiran did not find the situation bleak. Trying, yes, but not bleak. They would persevere. They had to persevere. It was part of the reason he roamed, as well, in hopes of finding a pure mare worthy of bringing back to Black Skull.

So it was, Keiran continued to eat, ever alert, and ever aware of Malice. He knew she was aggressive, strong, and might change her good nature in a moment. Family might be family, but this stallion wasn't stupid. One had to always be on guard, especially when in another's personal space, and eating their kill. When Malice admitted to spending more time with the herd, and of course, protect the outskirts, he allowed himself a little smirk. "I think you'd make an excellent guardsman. Anyone stupid enough to take you on deserves what they get." Even Keiran, who had trained to be a warrior, wasn't so stupid as to challenge Malice. . . even if a spar with her might be nice. "With how many threats are out there, you'd be a welcome addition." Between the walkers, lessers and natives, as well as their smaller numbers, Black Skull was truly in a unique, if not potentially threatened, position.

Her ears flicked when he mentioned endangered. She knew that their numbers had been decreasing, but she did not know or think they would get that bad...ever. "This is news to me." She felt uncomfortable saying that. She should have been more looped in for her family. This stallion had provided her mother more help then she had, but at least that was good. Although, they all were doing their part... even if her way was to bring more Kalona into the world. She never considered it that important of a task, and instead would have hated her children if they hadn't of come out so perfect. Was this what her mother went through with Rot by choice? Why was her fate different because she was a mare with these abilities? And for the sake of genes? It was so frustrating to her. At least it was all on Toku to deal with her rage on the situation. She made sure to make his life a living hell.

Despite her inner conflict, she shrugged the thought off to focus on Keiran. "It is a relief to hear you have been hard at work considering the circumstances. At least someone reliable is working on it." Her concern was apparent at his news, and she had halted eating in a brief state of worry.

There was some relief in what Keiran had proposed and offered as a compliment. Guardsman. At least it was something she enjoyed in contribution, and something she was better at then popping out children. "I think I would enjoy that a lot. Perhaps I can bring Fachtna, my son. He mentioned he wanted to aid however possible." Without hesitation, after training her children, Fachtna demanded joining the herd and helping however needed. She would need to meet with his siblings to hear their contributions as well.

She did however, chuckle at his comment, and even a small smile crept on her face. "Thanks, but its all from training and a lot of past fights. I have a terrible habit of getting in to them almost too frequently. If the great Rot had not taught us our instincts, I would probably be dead long ago. Although, wit and intelligence was all from my mother..." For obvious reason. The combination was perfect. "I think you would have respected my father a lot, its a shame you will not ever train with him. But perhaps I can pass on some of his teachings next time you return to the herd." She was sure her mother had passed on some already, but it was worth offering in case.
PostPosted: Sun Nov 03, 2013 6:53 pm

Keiran licked his blood stained muzzle, observing Malice for a moment, before he continued tearing at the kill. He pondered her statement, the (was it surprise?) in her words at his mention of their endangerment. A small part of him wondered what others in Black Skull felt or thought, and whether or not being around so many pures might skew their views on the outside world. Certainly, kalona were in no small number within the herd itself. . . especially with new recruits having recently joined.

Still. He wasn't stupid. He knew what he had found when trying to seek out new blood and additional recuirts -- nothing. A whole lot of nothing. The few new faces they found had been seemingly it, and it was what caused him to go further and farther away from Black Skull every time.

"I would hope to be mistaken," he finally admitted, whip like tendrils curling and uncurling in frustration. "But I have tracked and searched and hunted for months, in different locations each time. Even outside the Kawani, it is difficult at best to find other kalona, and those that I do are often of weak blood, or worse, crossed with the lessers of the land." His lips curled in disgust, fangs gleaming at the thought of pairing with some . . . non-kalona race. "Many kalona appear to be aiding the cull of our kind, simply be having little self control or standards." Keiran did not know the history of Toku, but regardless what Maeryn and Rot may have thought of him, at least Malice's children had been pure.

"But we can at least take pride in Black Skull, and what Maeryn and Rot created. A lineage you've helped assure stays strong." He was glad that Malice had children, pure ones at that. She had been lucky to have had offspring, for it was something Keiran had not been able to accomplish. It was the reason he did search the lands, high and low, and go so far. He was not naturally a recruiter, but a warrior. Unfortunately, in his hopes to seek out a mate, he was forced to go farther, and farther. . . He had yet to turn up any luck.

It was maddening.

Keiran desired to follow in Maeryn and Rot's hoofsteps, to find a mare respectable and worthy, who would not mind helping the cause, and aiding the herd. But, finding any respectable, unrelated, single mares was. . . no easy, especially so close to Black Skull. He knew his next journey would keep him away long. "I'm sure it would do Black Skull proud to have its great lineage represented on the borders. Just let the neighboring lesser's think twice about causing trouble." He smirked some, knowing full well the foolishness of such a thing. Still, just because they had not been attacked recently, or given trouble, did not mean they should ever let down their guard.

Complacency would be their demise, if they let it.

Keiran pricked his ears, tearing at another strip of meat while Malice spoke of Maeryn and Rot. While he looked up at Maeryn as mother -- the only mother he'd ever known -- he did know the reality. He was but the foundling. . . And while he had heard great stories of both the ebony mare and her ruby coated, now fallen, mate. . . they were not truly of his blood. He knew nothing of Rot but the stories, of the great lineage his older siblings spoke of. Even then, his brothers and sisters were years, and years older than he. . . some didn't even look at him as kin, which was fair, for truly he was not. Still. A small bit of Keiran could not help but be, perhaps, a touch jealous. "He was a great kalona, from the stories I've heard. Maeryn and Rot made a proud lineage, and a great herd. I'm proud to be part of it. . . and would enjoy taking you on in battle. You've certainly the experience, and I would love to see where I stack up against you." Keiran was a warrior, and any advice on technique, especially against as seasoned a fighter as Malice, would do him well.

Malice was somewhat surprised that she was enjoying their conversation. She always identified as very tom-boyish and tended to be closer with her brothers. Keiran may have been a newer addition to the family, but the way he spoke was luckily not bothersome to her at all. He had a solid amount of intelligence and she could also feel her mother's influence on him. Perhaps he was well trusted, even by her own standards. In the short amount of time they had spent together he had already made a big effort, so she could feel he cared in speaking with her. She hoped her effort was causing the same reaction for him.

In this day and age it was a relief to have allies, and with her amount of enemies she would take any strong support over none.

"I'm sure Mae would be pleased if you, too, had pure children. Although I imagine its hard when you are always so busy traveling." At least Keiran had more choices. Malice had never been a busy traveler. With her family being so large, it was enough to keep up with them even in the herd setting. "Let's see if I can pass any wisdom on your way when it comes to mares... If they are strong, pure, and don't piss you off every possible second, then I'm sure you've found a good match."

It was hard to find a Kalona mate that wasn't a complete idiot, and she was glad Keiran was so keen on not picking unpure blood for the thrill or excitement other lessers found. "It would be good to have more young ones around the herd, I feel like even I am getting too old for these next generations." As scary as that was to her, she hoped she could carry some of her mother's grace and all of her father's rage into her older years.

She liked thinking about Rot. At any possible second, she enjoy bringing up any memories of him. "He was very great. You'll have to meet more of our siblings so you can really see what they passed on. We are a rowdy bunch but the lineage is there and strong, yet we are all so different." The concept always amazed her. Malice also expected that most of her siblings would be fine at knowing Keiran was also a close member to the family. At this point it really was the more the merrier when it came to an ally of the herd and family. Some may have been harsher in reaction at first, but they would get over it.

"I'll have to practice until your next herd visit, but yes, consider it a done deal." She smirked lightly. Even if she was exuding some confidence, she would need to train for their sparring occasion. It had been some time since she had gone all out, even for fun. Once her own children were old and strong enough, she found them other Soquili to battle against for training. "Speaking of which, where are your travels taking you next? When do you think you will return again?" It would be good to let her mother know any updates with Keiran.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 09, 2013 11:36 am

Keiran gave a small snort at the mention of having children. It was not a derisive or condescending snort, it was simply a response given the reality of his situation. He did not travel simply to recruit new blood to Black Skull. . . the reason he'd left, originally, was in hopes of taking up such a duty. To find a mate, one to help keep the kalona line pure; to help raise the foals proudly and as great predators. Foals in which Black Skull, and Maeryn in particular, might be proud of! He was not so sentimental as to think of it any deeper than that of his duty. . .

Unfortunately, he hadn't expected it to be so challenging. "It is in part why I roam," he finally confessed to Malice, glancing dubiously down at the remains of the kill and deciding he had eaten his share. He still had travel to do, and being laden down with fresh meat, delicious as it was, was not in his best interest. So he stepped back and away, licking at the blood stains on his legs and maw, cleaning himself to the best of his ability. "Finding mares who fit such a category, and whom are not relations, even in spirit or name, is difficult in the Kawani. Some mares are nothing but whores, others whom have sullied themselves with lessers, or worse, are half-breeds themselves." He snarled some, the disgust clear in his words. "So I travel, keeping an eye out for new recruits. . . as well as potential mares whom might be seeking a similar duty to herd and the kalona lineage as a whole." It sounded so clinical, but Keiran was not one to trip over sentimentality. . . especially when it came to mares. He was arrogant, confident, and duty bound. He assumed he would find the perfect mare, whom would be the same.

"I trust I'll be leaving Black Skull in more than capable hooves with you on the borders. Perhaps you can find some worthy opponents until my next arrival, in which case, I suspect I will need to be on the top of my game against you." And that was a compliment, for the draft stallion was no easy target himself. He was terribly serious about such things, and strength and military defense was something he tried to excel in, even for being so young.

"I plan on traveling north east, far past the mountain range, and deserts above us. I'm unsure where I'll stop, but I don't suspect I will be back for a few seasons, if not, perhaps, a full year." His nose crinkled some, for deep down, Keiran was rather a family oriented kalona. Maeryn had instilled that much with her teachings, and care or concern was not a weakness. .. though it could be used and exploited as one. He loved Black Skull, so to find himself pulled so far, so frequently, was rather unfortunate.

But, it was his duty.

Malice listened quietly as Keiran spoke. She must have been luckier then she thought, but it wasn't always easy for her as well. Just thinking about her youthful days and getting her family to accept Toku was quite a burden... she wondered what trials and tribulations Keiran would have to go through himself. Either way, it would be a good growing experience for him in the long run.

"Well, I will keep an eye out if I see someone decent come to the herd while you are traveling. Keep hunting as it usually is worth it, even if it takes some time. Plus its good to be picky." It felt weird to even offer to help, but knowing others in their clan was not a bad thing to help with. She liked to think she had ok taste in not being around horrible Soquili. She knew true Kalona mares were especially difficult, so why not aid in one thing she understood?

His challenge was well accepted, and she nodded lightly in return. "I will take care of everyone and get stronger for your next visit. I'm looking forward to a lengthy battle." She smiled a toothy grin. He would be a stronger opponent then she was used to, but she could practice on idiots who approached the herd. Her training regiment would have to start immediately if she was going to be ready...

Although, she was a bit shocked to hear details on his timing. She didn't know it was that long of a journey. She wondered what that was like, to be away for so long. Was he fine with the ordeal? He was proud of his duty and that she could tell, but she imagined it was still hard to be alone and so often. At least he handled it well. She would be much too dramatic for the whole thing.

"We are grateful for your hard work with recruiting and commitment to the cause. Perhaps after you've filled up the herd you can stay awhile and train. We are already such a well known herd, might as well become the strongest." It may have sounded like a challenge, but her true intent was to bring him back. She imagined her mother would be grateful on that cause as well. "Plus you might as well train someone else on recruitment so you can pass that off." She wondered if even her son would be interested in such a thing. Maybe it would be good for him to travel as Keiran had and see the world? She pondered lightly.

I definitely think we can wrap this. :3 Thanks so much for the herd/family bonding time, it was quite fun! xD

The large stallion allowed his expression to slip in to a fanged smile himself. The brute of a draft kalona looked over at his elder sibling (which was what he had been raised to think of her as!) and allowed his long, tentacled tail to flick idly behind him. "Black Skull shall not only be the largest, but the strongest. There is and never shall be a herd quite like this one," he spoke, pride and fondness lacing his words. He loved Maeryn, and the only family and herd he'd ever known deeply, and it was not something he was ashamed to have known.

Just because he was dark and occasionally wicked did not mean he could not feel emotions such as love or care. He was not so much a monster so as to be callous of heart, though it was a incredibly limited handful that he allowed see such a thing.

"One day, once I've found a suitable female, I shall resettle and once more pick up the mantel of warrior. And if any here wish to learn the art of recruitment, they know where to find me." At least upon his future return. It was unfortunate that the lands withint and surrounding the Kawani were bereft of true kalona lines. Finding new members was tricky, much less finding suitable, appropriate mares. Keiran was not looking for something sentimental, such as love, but simply one who was desirous of joining a proud herd, and continuing to purify the blood.

It amazed him how difficult finding such a suitable kalona mare truly was.

Thankfully, Keiran was damned stubborn, and would go where he had to to make sure Black Skull, and their future, would be secure.

"I suppose I shall continue with my patrol, though many thanks for the meal. Keep practicing, and when I get back, we'll have that epic battle, in which I make mincemeat out of you." He tossed his long mane back, a low chuckle in his voice. His challenge was meant to inspire, and did admit to his intrigue and desire in wisihng to spar. Still. . . now was not the time.

"Happy hunting, Malice." And with that, the large stallion shook out his wings, and gave a mighty leap to get airborn and away.
