The night was always a welcoming sight to SkullKandy. The perfect stillness surrounding him combined with the chirping of the crickets was a perfect concoction for meditation. It was neither too still nor too chaotic. A perfect mix. A perfect combination. It was a means to an end, and Skull found himself quite content to meditate this quiet evening. The topic? His first lesson with Malach Hamvet. It had gone… interesting no doubt. Made him question multiple things about himself and what he stood for. And quite frankly, as of this moment he wasn’t sure how to go about sorting through all the conflicting feelings. At least, in this very case, he had the opportunity to take a step back and just listen. Listen to himself, his thoughts, his feelings, his inner soul.
So, he entered the valley with a quiet confidence. Confidence in what he was setting out to do this night so he would be prepared for the next time Malach summoned him for lesson number two. He wanted to be more prepared than he was the first time. And figuring things out now, or at least getting a good handle on the issues at hand, was the first step. Hoof beat by hoof beat he went further into the valley, passing by a few sparce rocks big enough for something small to sit on. Skull had no intention of sitting on such a thing. He was far too large for that. But he wanted to find something that would sooth his senses into the first settings of reflection.
And he found it rather quickly, in the form of a small, double level pond in the middle of the tall grass. He let a small sigh escape through his muzzle, his vivid blue eyes gazing upwards towards the twinkling stars above. He asked that they give him guidance. That they provide him with a means to sort through the issues. A way to get through this first step. And when his gaze lowered so too did his neck. His muscles beginning to relax. One by one. Tip by tip. Moment by moment.
Now was the time for him to reflect and ponder. Now was the time to set aside everything for the greater enlightenment of his wellbeing. Yes, tonight was the perfect night he had to admit. At least, so he thought. Karma always had a way to throw in something new to push him off balance again. It’s happened before and no doubt it would happen again. It was just how things went. And Skull had to be prepared for anything.
He chuckled to himself, his eyes sliding closed, anything would be better than nothing. He loved having a new challenge. Even if he had no idea what to do with it.
