** The last RP had been when Cobalt was attacked by a skinwalker...for sake of Airlia moving on it has been altered that she never finds him or knows truly what happened but the blood obviously is in the area. **

It had been the better of two, long and horrific years for the mare; the better part of her time had been wandering, searching for any clues of her daughter's whereabouts. Tears had long been cast aside for the pain was scars cutting deeper into her heart; even her sons she could not find trace of. No one she interrogated had heard nor seen either....and while she knew they were capable...why was it she was unable to find them? What had happened to her children...her life? There had always been problems between Paradox and Cobalt...Raiden caught in the middle of the family. Sapphire had been their little special child...who needed by far the most of their attention with her cursed mind of her mother.

How did it all come to this?

Sapphire was gone one night, it was so unlike her to leave without making ruckus or letting someone know. The trace of her was wiped clean, and not even the likes of her family could find but a trace of her daughter. She'd feared the worse, that she was no longer of this world and that all of her searching and hoping would be in vain.

Closing her eyes tightly as she loped along, the mare had never felt such a burning failure deep in her soul; not only had she been a horrible daughter for Reaper and Nimue....not the stability her mother needed nor the apocalyptic weapon her father desired against the heavens. She'd now failed her own family, Cobalt....Paradox.....Raiden.....Sapphire. Airlia was amazed what little presence she had in her life was wanted by her mother and Minuet....she knew nothing of her other siblings, Sabriel, Gabriel, Ennuiel, Numielle.....for what she did they were off on their own adventures in life. Her mother was trying so hard to cling to the threads of the relationship they once shared; and deep down she was thankful. For all her mental illness, she used what little sanity she could hold onto to use it for her children.

That...was something.

That....was what mothers were supposed to do.

Walking back to the familiar lands they had called home for so long; the mare pressed into the clearing where her and Cobalt had slept. It was dark out, but her eyes allowed near perfect vision...so surely he would be sleeping soundly having left him at home from her latest excursion to find out more information.

However, that was not what she was greeted with.

"Cobalt...?" She called, noting the clearing was cold; abandoned, a very distinct smell laded the air thickly as if not even the breeze had dared to sweep through. Eyes widening she hurriedly headed to where what would have been their bed and stopped cold in her tracks.

Blood.

Blood was everywhere.

It was dried, so it was really hard to distinguish how much was of one or another...but it did have the smell of Cobalt to it; and she could feel her heart run cold. She didn't recognize the other smell, but the damage around had indicated a fight had taken place, and her fear began to claw deeply at the surface. "COBALT!" She screamed, her eyes darting around to find something, any trace of the stallion who she loved with every fiber of her being. Wasting no time she began to run, following splattered blood which lead trails around her home...but each of them lead to a dead end. Nothing. Not even a hair. There was no bodies, no drag marks....it was as if an epic battle took place and suddenly both had dissipated into thin air.

"COBALT!" Airlia screamed agonizingly into the night, met with nothing but echos of the vast emptiness she had felt in her soul for so long. Heart pounding as piece by piece it began to break and shatter before her very eyes the mare felt her legs quake...the unknown of what was going on breaking her by the minute. Her breathing had increased, nearly to the point of hypervenitlation as her mind raced. She had lost Sapphire....Raiden and Paradox were without a trace.....and now...

Oh lords....

Cobalt....her love.....her very life.

He'd saved her, saved her from the darkness which was slowly clawing away at her very soul to eat away at anything good still lurking and clinging to life within her. He'd shown her how to live, to love....to hold onto the sanity which she felt impossible for someone like she. He'd shown her family....blessing her with three little bundles of joy. Bundles which now....were gone.

Every joy she'd found in her life had been stripped away from her, one by one....and she wasn't left with what she started with....oh no. She was left with nothing.

Burning tears began to rim her dark eyes, tears which she thought were long gone by now but came back with a vengeance. Freely falling down her face she collapsed; her legs no longer offering any kind of strength or support to hold her body up now. Drawing her head back the mare broke into a wailing sob, whatever dignity and strength she held had been shattered under the heavy realization that he love would never have left....never not return to the place of their heart. She couldn't sense him anywhere, the bond she'd made in her heart was but one side of a severed chain - limply hanging.

She didn't want to believe it....but the darkness of her demons slowly began to wake from their slumber and sink their claws into her heart. Airlia couldn't move, she was suffocating with her agonizing cries and torment....so she did the only thing she could.

She remained, howling out her sorrows into the dead of night which held no comfort, no glimmer of hope to the mare which had just lost not only her love...

but everything she held dear.

The next two days the mare remained in a crumpled pile in what had been her home, a system of rain and storms had come as a perfect reflection of her heart. Rain pelted the lands relentlessly, and she sat dimly in the same spot; eyes void of the life she'd held before staring forward when she was awake and lightly shut when she was asleep.

There was no motivation, only crippling pain as she knew with each passing hour her mate wasn't returning....it just wasn't like him not to be here. Not to come home when she said she would be here.....as much as she hated to believe it...just like she was with her daughter; Airlia was never going to see them again.

With a deep rattling breath she exhaled, closing her eyes as the tears no longer seemed to fall amidst the rain which ran down her muddied but still ivory pelt. She could feel her body aching with its weakness; a small pool of blood had tainted a puddle which her tail lay in from her constant bleeding....anemia was setting in and she couldn't find the strength or will to stand. Perhaps, perhaps she would just bleed out slowly till the end; diligently waiting like some lost foal for the ones she loved to come find her....come save her.

Will you let yourself die? A scratchy, dark voice arose in her head as the mare groaned, oh great, now she was hallucinating.

So she ignored it, she'd pushed past that part of her life where she truly believed she was not alone in her own body.

You will die....allowing the one who did this to you victory....

She perked her ears up, her brows slowly settling down in a frown as her jaw clenched, no....no she wasn't going to acknowledge it. She was too weak from blood loss....and the voice wasn't real.

She'll have won, once and for all. When you're dead...she'll come find you too.

Won? Who will have won? Her family was taken under circumstance.....right?

A painful beat of her heart caused the mare to wince, lifting her head out of the mud as she wondered, truly wondered how such an event could have transpired. Her daughter....well it could have been many things. She was not a fighter, frankly sanity was rare for her poor girl so it really could have been anything which had taken her away to the point Airlia couldn't find her. Raiden and Paradox....Raiden was a sweet child and Paradox had capabilities in him like his father if tapped properly. It would have to be something strong to take them away....and she couldn't find trace of them either.

Cobalt....too many ran from such a gentle giant like herself....they had reason to fear and usually little reason to fight. Skinwalkers could have done this....but she'd never seen any around these parts. Oddly enough the Angeni blood in her body seemed to keep them at bay from ever coming close to them.

Her....

Suddenly, like the strike of a match, an epiphany sparked to a burning flame in her soul.

Raven...

She'd never been shy about her hatred for Airlia and her family....she'd attacked them when she was hindered by pregnancy. What.....what if she'd been the one to take out her family one by one? Been the one who lured her away from chasing Sapphire to finally get to Cobalt? And...when no one was left - take her on alone.

ba-dump

It made sense, complete, utter, perfect sense. Raven had been the only one to be so brash to challenge her, and she'd made clear that she would see the end of Airlia some day. Feeling her jaw clench as her breathing increased and became rapid with the surging of her anger, horror and of course the release of the demons she had tried so hard to keep at bay all her adult life.

Now....now they clawed at her heart and releasing the poisons which had plagued her childhood. Her eyes narrowed to the point they looked like the eyes of the devil himself; summoning the strength of her demons to make her body rise from the collective mud of her downfall. Wobbling heavily from the strain she steadied herself and felt her breath come out from her lips in wisps of steam against the chill of the rainy day. A rumble echoed from her throat as her tail dragged on the ground; the spikes making a long scratching noise as she began to move, step by step as her lips curled into a sinister snarl. Already the ache for blood, for pain caused her to salivate, she could feel the darkness settle into her soul; contented to be allowed to see the light after so long locked in the deep recesses of her soul thanks to a life of happiness.

"Raven..." She seethed, each venom laced syllable promising death to anyone who'd happened to hear. She would end the torment of her aggressor, strip away any thought, any dream she'd ever had. Airlia would end her slowly in the most painful way she could imagine. No longer would she breathe the air of the rest of the living - and she would not rest till she was once more faced with her arch enemy once and for all. She would inflict all the pain of what she'd felt for her family being torn from her, and would be the one to get revenge and vengeance for what she had done.

It would be their final meeting.

Airlia would drag that monster down to hell with her, for now she was unafraid - she would die happy as long as it meant the end of Raven.

This was her creed, her promise and her tribute to her dear family as the monster was once again reborn; vanishing of the shadows of what had once been her home - never to return again.
