"Woooow." Isidore breathed in utter awe as he looked up at the strange beast. "What is thaaat?" It looked like a horse, but it wasn't a horse because it had a funny face and really wonky teeth and it was a hunch back. He watched the beast chew for a moment and looked down at Scim, he seemed to be equally as unsure.
"It's a camel." A male voice replied. "You have never seen one before."
Isidore looked up at the man who had spoken, he had bronzed skin that almost shone in the sunlight, his hair was long and fastened back with a golden clasp, He had several earings and wore a long robe that was white with a gold trim around the sleeves and the bottom. "No, we don't have camels at the pantheon."

Kyrie was equally as impressed as her brother as she stared up at the massive beast. She really wanted to touch it, but her mother had had to have a talk with her and her sister about not running up to strange animals, so she was doing her absolute best to behave and stick next to her brother. The male voice caused her to turn her head away from the awesome animal and she almost missed what he had said as she took in his appearance. Unable to help herself, she stepped towards him and reached out take his sleeve in her hand.
"Ooo, I like your coat. It is very pretty," she smiled and looked up at him as she ran her fingers over the pretty gold trim design on his sleeve. "How come you have so many earrings in your ear?" she asked, releasing him and putting her hand to where her ears would be if she had them.

Isidore too was quite interested in the man that had appeared behind them. he certainly looked shiny and he seemed to know things. Isidore liked to learn about things a lot and so someone in the know was the equivilant of shiny things to Kyrie. He watched his sister as the reached out to touch the pretty trim.
Hakim laughed and looked down at the strange little girl, she did not seem to be djinn at all. "Well, I bought some, my family bought me some." He crouched down so that he was on her level. "I like jewelry."

Kyrie puffed a little with pride as he crouched down to her level to answer her. "I like jewelry too. A lot," she declared with a sharp decisive nod. "My Mommy doesn't have ears, so she can't wear earrings. Daddy does have ears, but I've never seen him wear earrings before. I have jewelry, but I don't wear it." She paused long enough to lean in close to him. "I keep it in my super secret special box," she stage whispered. It was safe to say such things around her brother after all. He knew she had brought it. But you never knew who else might be listening. "You must like gold a lot. It looks pretty on you. It makes your skin look like it's gold," she smiled and reached out to gently touch his face, not once thinking that she was being too bold or rude.

Hakim rested his arms on his legs and smirked as she spoke. "Why don't you wear it?" He asked, he had younger brothers and sisters and was quite used to small children. He didn't mind when she reached out to touch him curiously. "Jewelry needs to be worn, there is no point hiding it in a box."
Isisdore watched his sister, she was always so fearless when it came to new people. He liked new people too, though he was not sure that he would go around touching them like that. They didn't know if he was friendly or not. "Is the camel yours?" He asked, looking back up at it as it made a funny noise, a bit like a cow but not.

Kyrie shrugged her shoulders and shook her head. "I sometimes wear it when I'm playing in my room. I don't want to lose it." Plus, some of it had come to her possession by slightly less than honorable means. "I think if I had a pretty bracelet I might wear it," she grinned and looked down at her hands. She didn't much care for wearing necklaces. They got caught in her feathers. Turning back to her brother, she nodded in agreement with him and looked back to the awesome animal. "Can we pet it?"

Isi watched as the man stook back up. He was really quite tall, he thought. The camel was tall too, it had long legs and nobbly knees and a funny face. He decided it was his new favourite animal. After Scim of course.
Hakim nodded and said something in a language Isidore had never heard, maybe it was special camel language, that was pretty awesome. The camel made another noise and sank down to his knees until he was on the floor.
"Woow." Isi grinned and wandered to the side of the camel so he could reach out to touch its fur. It was surprisingly soft. "Does it have a name?" He asked.
Hakim nodded. "Of course, his name is Anwar."

Kyrie bounced a little in anticipation as the man nodded in reply to their questions. Moving to her brother's side, she watched wide-eyed as he spoke to the camel and it shifted down to its knees. That was so cool!
"Anwar?" she giggled a little as she stepped up to run her hands over his fur. That was a funny sounding name. "What is this bumpy hump on his back?" she asked as she peered up at the man. "Is it special for something?"

Hakim petted Anwar and nodded at the questions. "Yes, very special. See, camels must travel across the desert carrying men and goods. This hump carries water for them so that they do not dry up and die."
Isidore looked at the hump with wide eyes, that was very clever. It was like a water tank. He looked at Scim who was lying in the shade of the big beast, he wondered if he would get a hump if they travelled through the desert. "Camels are amazing, much more exciting than horses." He declared with certainty.

"Wow," Kyrie breathed and looked to the hump again. That was the coolest thing ever! She couldn't wait till she got to tell Caelia and her daddy about the funny looking animal who stored water in a hump on its back. That was the coolest, cleverest thing she had ever heard of.
"I like you. You're very nice," she declared to the man as she continued to run her hands over Anwar's golden fur. "What's your name? Are you a djinn?" she asked with a tilt of her head. She was pretty certain that he must be. Djinn's always wore lots of pretty jewelry and nice clothes and were tall like he was in her active imagination.

Hakim laughed at her declaration. "Well, thank you very much young crowling. I am a djinn." He gave her a grin. "I do not grant wishes though."
A real djinn, but one that didn't grant wishes, Isi wondered why, in the stories djinn always granted wishes, they were very powerful creatures. Isidore was far more interested in the idea of riding a camel, he turned back and wandered over to his mother. "Mama, can we ride a camel?"
Cosine smiled and placed a hand on his head. "Yes, you and Kyrie can ride the camel, we will walk with Scim, the old library is not too far from here. Hakim is going to show us.

Kyrie glanced to her brother as he announced he was, in fact, a djinn. A real djinn! Just like they had hoped to meet! Though her excitement flagged a little at his next words. That was disappointing, but it opened up a whole new set of questions in her inquisitive mind. "Oh. Why not? Do you not like to grant wishes?" she asked, turning away from Anwar to peer up at him. "Can you do magic even though you don't grant wishes?"

"All djinn have magic, we do not grant people wishes though. It is a common mistake that people make." He grinned. "You would not want a djinn to grant you a wiah, because we like to play tricks, they are often not nice wishes." He winked and looked to their mother as she seemed to be ready to go. "Shall we get you both on to Anwar.
Isi was excited, so excited he ran back to his sister and grabbed her arm. "Ky, Ky we're going to rie the camel." he said, bouncing up and down. How amazing was that, and only them. Not the adults, not even Scim though he did not imagine the dog would enjoy riding a camel at all.

Kyrie giggled at Hakim's reply. True, her mother had told her and Isi much the same before they had left for their adventure, but it seemed silly to hear. He seemed too nice to be playing tricks on people and granting not nice wishes. Turning at her brother's excitement, she gave a loud caw and began to bounce with him. "You want to go first Isi? Or do you want me to go first?" she asked as she looked back at Anwar and decided it was going to be interesting to find out how they were going to be riding him with that big bumpy hump.

Isidore was thinking much the same as his sister, however Hakim seemed to have an answer for everything. He called off to a group of young men in his funny language and soon a boy had appeared with a saddle and startd to put in on Anwar the camel.
"Oh, look." He pointed. "i will sit at the front and you can hold on to me." He declared, watching as the boy finished fixing the saddle on.
