It was finally here. The day Porsha had been waiting for for weeks now. The day she'd been counting down to. Her bags were packed, her room was barren. She was ready to get the hell out of dodge, and start a new chapter in her life that didn't include living under her mother's roof or rules. So with her arms currently occupied by a rather large box of knickknacks, Porsha made her way through the lobby and up the stairs, eager to meet Ever at the door to her new apartment. The rest of her s**t was still in a truck down on the street, but considering everything she owned had fit into one small room, it wasn't an outstanding amount of boxes that needed to be carted up from the ground level.

He was unemployed, and at Zac's beck and call; the result was that Ever would pretty much help anyone move in at any time, lacking any kind of excuse to avoid doing his duty. The smile, though, was all him -- no sullen eye rolls or grumpiness at being interrupted here. He saw Po and flashed her a wide grin, stepping in to take the box out of her hands with careless ease. "This can't be all you have, can it?" Too chipper, maybe; some would find it annoying. Unprofessional. He turned to nudge her door open with one shoulder.

Ever's grin was answered in full as she drew near him and let him take the box from her hands. "Of course not, everything else is down in the truck." The gin shifted, changing into a smirk. "I thought I'd save the heavy lifting for the big strong man." As the door opened she leaned forward to peer inside eagerly, then gave a low whistle as she took in the layout. It was big, at least in her opinion. A kitchenette just inside the door, opening up into a comfortable living space. A small hall extended beyond, probably the bedroom and bathroom. Maybe a closet. "Wow," was all she managed to articulate for a moment, stepping forward to lean against the door frame. Whatever teasing smile she'd given Ever was gone now, replaced by a look of almost stunned disbelief before she turned a significant look up to the young man. There was no way he could really know just how much it meant to her to have a place of her own. Somewhere clean, and safe. Her lips twitched, half a smile, before she leaned into him and gave him a one armed hug. "This is amazing, thank you."

"Hey, you called me a big strong man. I think that's thanks enough, potentially the first time anyone ever has." He'd already set down the box, and leaned in the doorway now; head cocked, freshly-cropped hair out of his face and looking older for it. Here was one person who wouldn't cringe at her touch, or flush, or try to cop a feel -- just pat her once on the back before letting go. "More stuff? Or do you want to look the place over more first?" Here was also once person who could actually understand how much it meant. Maybe they could talk about it, some day. Or avoid talking about it. He swiped fingers up the bridge of his nose. "We could walk the area, too."

She snorted, giving him a solid pat on the back. "Yeah, but don't let it go to your head." It was followed with a grin before she returned to staring at the empty apartment. It was all hers. Her head turned as he asked about what she wanted to do first, but her eyes lingered on the interior of the flat for a second or two more before jumping up to Ever. "I guess the stuff in the truck isn't going anywhere, we've got time for a tour." She did want to see everything her new place had to offer, and it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a the lay of the neighborhood.

"You don't have to pay extra for the time?" He flashed a grin and paused, starting deeper into the apartment instead of away. They could start the tour here: the kitchen, which was actually big enough to function, the bathroom with a relatively fresh bathtub, the bedroom. It wasn't huge, but it was likely better than what she'd had before. And yes. It was hers.

She waved her hand dismissively. "Naw, I'm borrowing it from a friend that owes me a favor. It's all good." Eyes were wide and searching as she followed him into the apartment. It was sparse now, but she could picture her things taking up spaces, and it was a little overwhelming. In an amazing way. As the got to the bedroom she was smiling so hard her lips hurts. "I usually hate packing and unpacking, but I honestly cannot wait to start making this place my own." That didn't necessarily mean they had to cut the tour short, it just meant she was excited.

The sound Ever made was amused but -- well, not quite as understanding as some might have been. The place he shared with Zac was still pretty much Zac's, only a few of his own belongings taking up space here and there. Ever'd never felt the need to clutter up his space, to customize, to set down roots. Maybe he never would. "I need a cigarette, so let's go for that walk." He'd grab her around the waist as he said it, nudging her toward the door. "I'll show you the corner store. And there's a diner not too far off..."

She laughed as his arm went around her waist and he began steering her towards the door. "Alright, alright. Lead on." Honestly she didn't care where they went, she was in an exceptionally good mood. He could show her around the neighborhood now, and she could unpack later, maybe even order herself some pizza, or some other take out she didn't often have access to.

He could do exactly that; Ever had been here long enough, now, that he knew where the cheap places were, at least. The more expensive ones, those that bothered with this area, were less his jurisdiction, were less familiar. She could figure those out on her own. A circle, a tour, a pause to pick up cigarettes, and it would be over: Porsha delivered back on her doorstep with her pile of boxes and left to do the unpacking on her own.
