((*pushes Darshan out into the thread because she has nothing to contribute to GoT discussion XD*))

Darshan trotted out into the meadow, enjoying the summer sun and the way it make his feathers glimmer in the light. Fruit and grass was plentiful, and the whole country seemed alive and bustling with activity; making everything ripe for a good story or conversation.

His laterns and cages clinked against his side as he looked out, looking for someone to talk to. The little songbird in his shoulder-cage trilled happily in the warm summer air.

Ayidan was relaxing in a warm meadow when he heard the sounds of clicking. What on earth was he hearing? Was some one coming? He lifted his head from where he'd been resting it and looked around, his eyes a little wide. He had thought no one else was close so he didn't expect anyone here.

When he spotted the other stallion, he blinked a few times, and tried not to stare at his vibrant feathers. They were quite colorful! He'd never met anyone with such feathers, or those... those front feet. "Uh... um... He... hello?" He finally said.

Darshan spotted another stallion in the meadow and gave him a warm smile. He was always looking to talk to anyone - the most amazing stories could come from anyone. "Good day to you," he said, coming over to the paint boy and giving his best charming smile. "Nice to meet you! My name, good sir, is Darshan and I'm very pleased to make your acquaintance. And you are...?"

Ayidan blinked, surprised at the warm smile, but pleased, and smiles, shyly, back. At least he hadn't laughed at his stutter yet. "I... I am Ayi... Ayidan." Oh goodness, stuttering over his name. He hated that. "It it it's a pleasure to muh-meet you, D... D... Darshan. Wh...what bruh-brings you thu-this way?"

The poor lad seemed to have a stutter. Darshan loved speaking with others and conversation so much, he couldn't even bring himself to imagine what it would be like to go through his days with such an ailment. A wave of sympathy came over him, though he didn't express is outwardly. "So very nice to meet you, Ayidan," he said. His voice was smooth, deep, and comforting; it a strange exotic accent that was intriguing without being hard to understand. "I'm just passing through, as it were. I'm what you may call a rolling stone - I just go wherever the spirits will me to. I say, are you a local from around here? These, ah, Kiwani lands?"

Ayidan found the cadences of the other stallion's speech interesting. It was... different. He phrased things in a different way, he spoke in a very elegant fashion. Ayidan, after a moment, decided he liked it. "Y... Yes. I a...a..am a luh-local to the K...k...k.." He paused and made a slight face at the ground. UGH why did K have to be so hard sometimes! He took a deep, deep breath and tried again. "Kawani lands. I...is your home fu..fu... far?" He looked back up at the other, grateful that he was apparently patient with the stutter. Some day, some day Ayidan would defeat this shyness plague...

Darshan listened patiently. "Ah yes, Ka wani, that's right." He thanked him with a smile. "Yes, I like this place very much. It seems almost magical - so many different stories and varieties of Soquili and two-leggers. In more other places I have traveled, there has not been this kind of variety. I quite like it very much indeed." At his question, Darshan gave a wry smile. "Indeed, its very far from here. How far is hard to say, as i will be the first to admit I've quite lost track over the years. I'm no cartographer, you see, so sometimes I head in a direction I think is Point A, and end up right back at Point C. But its all the same to me... just another story to hear and person to meet, eh?" He nudged Ayidan with his shoulder, causing his canary to trill in displeasure.

"Oh, sorry little miss," he chuckled.

"So Aiydan," he asked, standing in front of him now. "Know any good stories? Folktakes? Something local, if you may."

Ayidan blinked, just a bit, at the realization that he'd accidentally corrected the other. He hadn't meant to, it just happened. At least Darshan didn't take it badly! Ayidan would have been horribly embarrassed if he'd offended the other. "Th... that seems qu...quite the distance. Yuh...yuh...you must tr...truly love stories, and muh...meeting others to g...g...go so far!"

The bird's trill made Ayidan jump, just a little, and he blinked, then tilted his head to peer at the pretty little bird. "O...oh she is a l...lovely little b...b...bird. Sh...she must ha...have a lovely vuh...vuh...voice!"

At the request about the stories, Ayidan went into an internal panic. Tell a story? He knew some, who didn't, but with his stutter, it took forever to get one out. How would he manage this? Finally, he decided to start with asking "W... well I a...assume y...you have been told of the W...w...wind H...horse and h...how the S...soquili c...came to the Kawani?" He assumed the answer would be yes, since it was the most common story he'd heard, but it gave him time to think.

Rhian Adreyn: After a lovely morning flying which had been rather relaxing the Hippogryph-Wind stood at the meadow's edge. She slowly turned her head left to right and back again. Listening for anything or anyone who could be a danger to her. She had only been at this spot a few times and was unsure who dwelled or hung around it.

Rhian Adreyn heard the voices of other near by and turned her attention towards them. Her mane and tail of feathers flared out as did her wings. Her ears twitched as she listened to them for a moment before deciding from what they were saying that the were not evil The mare relaxed folded her wings to her side then bent her neck down and began to eat the soft meadow grass.

Darshan looked down at his bird and gave another chuckle. "Indeed, she keeps me company on the long nights between my journeys. A bit of diva sometimes if I do say so myself."

Darshan wasn't intending to make Ayidan feel uncomfortable; on the contrary he was hoping it would make him relax a bit. The arrival of a mare caught Darshan's eye; a buff colored lass who shared his hipoogryph heritage by the looks of it. "Hello there!" he called to her. "Welcome, my name is Darshan, and this here is Ayidan. He was just about to tell me the story of how Soquili came to Kawani, do you know it?" he asked with a genial smile.

Ayidan smiled gently at the small bird, and nodded. "I can s...see how that would be. Li...little bird, y...you are a pretty wa...wa...one."

At the arrival of the other, Ayidan had to control the urge not to duck down even more and try to hide in the grass. No, he would not act like a silly scared tit. He just... hadn't expected an influx of strangers on this quiet, peaceful day. At Darshan's words, however, his eyes widened. Oh... oh gracious. He HADN'T heard the story of the little girl? He thought everyone knew that, and by now surely the other would have heard it! After all, if he was tra... no, no letting himself get into a tizzy over this. Instead, he lifted his head and looked at the mare.

"Hu...hu...hullo there, Miss. I...if you ha...have the patience to li...listen to m...m...me st...stutter my way th...through at...attempting the...the...the story, p...please join us." There, that should be polite enough.

Rhian Adreyn attempted gulped down the mouth full of grass, she had just began chewing and swiftly lifted her head up. The mare took a few moments to actually swollow all the grass, she she had not yet finished chewing it fully. That fact that someone had actually noticed her, startled her a bit. This was not something that commonly happened, as she tended to blend into the surroundings. She turned her face towards the sound of the others voices and slowly moved towards them. Her ears moved around as she did so as she listened for anything that might be in her way.

" Hello, Darshan and One who's name I do not yet know. I am called Rhian Adreyn. " the mare stated as she stop at a place she assumed was near the others," I do not mind your stutter at all andI would love to hear said story."

The peacock fellow smiled at the buff colored mare. "Very nice to meet you, Rhian Adreyn. That's a very beautiful name! Certainly, there's a story behind that, yes? I'd love to hear it!"

He looked back over the stuttering stallion and gave a sympathetic look. "If you don't mind of course? I'm not meaning to put you on the spot. But I'd still love to hear the story you want to tell."

Ayidan tried not to sigh, deeply. Well, he was stuck for it. He thought he was safe with that story, surely EVERYONE knew it by now... He took a deep, slow breath, and then tilted his head. "Well I am Ayidan, Rhian... and..." He paused, took another breath, and began. "W...well, once a l...long time a...ago, the W...wind St...st...stallion had left the Humans forever... A g...girl, a...after, was sad a...at the l...l...oss, and w..w..went to s..see if she c...c...could find the W...wind St...stallion..." He continued on, and told the story, though in short form, since it was hard enough to tell with his stuttering. He tried not to give in to the urge to give up, but it was hard... Hard, he hated how stupid he felt he sounded.

(...sorry don't feel like retelling it XP)

Darshan listened raptly, often nodding his head as he spoke, committing the story to memory. He was patient with his stuttering, and smiled encouragingly whenever he got stuck. Though not the best speaker, Darshan's vivid imagination was able to paint quite a lovely picture in his mind, and it indeed seemed like an important story to these people.

"Remarkable," he said, when he was fairly certain Aiydan was finished. "I hope I didn't put you in too awkward a situation, but I just had to hear it. I sincerely appreciate it, Friend."
