Toss, aim, fire. Toss, aim, fire. Tossing rocks in the air and hitting them with arrows to work on her aim was all well and good but it wasn't as good as actually trying to get a moving target. She hummed and lowered Matilda so she was pointed toward the ground. Maybe she could ask Tuck for a spar? Heidi stepped back and turned to pick her coat up off the ground, digging around in her pockets to find her phone. They had only ever sparred once and that hadn't lasted for very long. Maybe they could do it again? What if thine beau goes easy on you? T'would be shameful, but you know it to be true.Heidi blinked. Well...maybe.. She looked up, phone in hand, and searched around for anyone else that could serve as a sparring partner.

One pint sized Sun Trainee, coming right up. Peyton, dressed in a sports bra and slitted shorts, came jogging into view at the other end of the field. It was the tail of her run, and she liked to end her work outs with a little offensive training. Usually the training dummies, which was where she was headed now, but she never turned down a chance to take on an actual person. She spotted the other blonde, and recognizing her from the dessert buffet Mimsy had laid out, she lifted a hand to wave. Any name escaped her, but she was pretty sure she was looking at Tuck's girlfriend.

She vague recognized the other girl. Vaguely in that sense that she had seen her around here and there but didn't know her name nor had she ever spoken to her, so she knew her face just not who she was.
Well, no time like the present.
Heidi grinned and returned the wave she was given, putting her phone away to approach the other blonde. Oh man her hair was really awesome. And she was also super tiny. Man. "Hey! I don't think we've actually met before, but I've seen you around. I'm Heidi!" She offered a hand to shake, Matilda held in her other hand for the moment.

Peyton took the offered hand and gave it a firm shake, smiling. "Hey, I'm Peyton. I think we have a mutual friend." She was also pretty sure she had Heidi to thank for Tuck being too preoccupied to give her hell for the post cruise fiasco. For that she was grateful. Not that she was going to mention any of that. "Are you looking for an opponant? Cause I'm always up for a new challange." The grin had turned slightly feral as she reclaimed her hand, fingers twitching as her sides as Warrick buzzed excitedly in her head.

Heidi blinked. "Do we?" She tried to think back on who Peyton and her had in common. She had only seen the girl a couple times..Tuck, maybe? "Ah, yeah! I'm totally looking! I've never actually sparred with someone who uses their fists before." The Moon trainee was already backing away, raising Matilda at the ready and preparing herself to draw the string back for an arrow. Peyton looked really ready for this. "Whenever you're ready.." Heidi waited, making a point of getting as far away from Peyton as possible, a glowing white arrow forming at her fingertips. Peyton was always ready for a fight, eager even. As Heidi expressed her intentions, Warrick flared to life over the small Sun hunter's hands, dainty fingers curling around the holes as she brought her hands up. She waited patiently as the other girl backed up until there was a gap between them, grinning in amusement, because whatever distance Heidi gained now, she'd just close again. The invitation made her grin flash into something more feral, just for a second, then she was leaning forward, falling into a quick sprint. "Ready or not!" Tiny, but fast, and very agile. She darted forward towards the other hunter and feinted to the left before taking a swing. It wasn't a hard blow, merely glancing. Starting small. HP: 40/40 DMG: 1 CHG: 1/3 |0/2

Heidi pushed Peyton away from her with her foot when the other blonde got too close, grinning. "Nice try~." She then finally released the arrow she had been preparing, hitting the other trainee straight on and quickly backing off again. Matilda could be used as a bladed club of sorts, but Heidi would rather not do that. "So who's the mutual friend?" Heidi asked conversationally. It would be boring if they just went at it and didn't have some kind of interaction. HP: 39/40 Damage done: 6 Charge: 1/3; 0/2 spent

The arrow to the chest hit solidly and Peyton grunted as she threw a foot back to catch her balance. Damn, that stung. Not as bad as it would have without a shield, not hardly, but it reminded her of when she'd fought Nevada. Apparently energy arrows, like the bullets, were like jacked up paintballs. "That smarts." She grinned, then darted forward again and took a swipe at her arm. It was a glancing blow. It was a little more difficult trying to concentrate on a fight as well as a conversation. Heidi winced as her arm was hit, sending an arrow flying past Peyton's head. Damnit. "I need to stop doing that," she huffed slightly, pouting at Matilda. The runes pulsed as if the weapon was laughing at her.
"Oh! Oka--...you're the one who busted his face, aren't you?" Heidi chuckled and nodded. "He's my boyfriend~." She took off in another direction to keep her distance between her and Peyton, though now she held one of Matilda's limbs as if ready to swing her like a club at any moment.

The tiny Sun ducked as an arrow zoomed bast her head, but she grinned back at Heidi. "Practice makes perfect." Everybody missed every once in a while.
Oh and look, someone else that knew her as 'that girl that busted Tuck's face', great. It left her frowning, ready to be defensive, but the other blonde chuckled. Clearly she didn't hold a grudge. It wasn't as if it had happened while the two had been dating anyways. "I guessed that, after seeing you guys at the little buffet of confections Mimsy set up." She let heidi put a little distance between them, but they both knew Pey was going to eliminate it in a matter of seconds anyways. "Does he have a scar?" She didn't see as much of him now, so honestly she wasn't sure.
Feeling as though she'd let the Moon get enough of a head start, the petite Sun took off after her, closing the gap pretty quickly before taking another swipe at her, this time her leg.

"Yeah, usually I have bigger targets. I've never sparred another girl before," Heidi laughed, drawing back for another arrow. Peyton coming close again stopped her, she had to jump back away from her while smacking her leg away with Matilda. "Ah..hm..." Did he? Heidi thought back for a moment, comparing Tuck's face now to his face when she'd first met him. Was there anything dif--oh! She nodded. "A really thin one, yeah. On his jaw." Heidi pointed to where on her own face and shrugged. "Doesn't seem bothered by it. He was a big baby about it when he told me, but I think he was just being funny about it. It happens, not like you did it because you were were, like, arguing or something."She grinned again and held Matilda up in a more defensive position instead, not drawing the string back for an arrow this time. "I won't let you do that to me though~."HP: 37/40 Defended for: 5 Charge: 2/3; 0/2 spent

Peyton gave a soft hiss as Heidi struck her in the leg, bouncing back out of range before laughing the hit off. Bows might not have been made for close combat, but they worked pretty damn well as club in a pinch. "I wasn't trying to hit him that hard," she offered, a little defensively. "I mean I was.. But I didn't mean to give him a scar." It was just supposed to be a spar, a way to blow off a little steam. But she'd been new, and she didn't understand, and he hadn't spoken up when his shield had been low. Mistakes had been made on both sides. She grinned at the Heidi's insistence, taking it as more of a challenge then anything else. She didn't want to hurt the other blonde, not like she had Tuck, but she did want to win. She darted forward again, but swung at the other girl in a wide, sweeping arc. The bow was a nuisance, she aimed for Heidi's arms.Slashing at them with the curved blade, rather than striking with the spikes on her knuckles. HP: 34 DMG: 6 CHG: 3/3 | 0/2

"Eh, it's just a small little thing. It's not like you disfigured his face or anything." Heidi still felt her boyfriend was pretty damn hot, okay? The scar didn't change anything. "Besides, from the looks of things it seems like scars are pretty commonplace around here. It's no big deal, he wasn't even mad or bitter when he told me about it." She shrugged. Yeah, it bothered her when people hurt Tuck, but he was a big boy and he could deal with a punch to the face. Plus it was a spar from before they were dating, what could she do? Oh no you hit Tuck when we were friends and you were sparring with him how could you nooooo... ...Yeah, no. Heidi winced as she felt her arm nicked by a blade, shoving Peyton off her. Hey, this was good practice for defending! Matilda suddenly cackled with glee, the glow of her runes pulsing. Ah. Her charge was ready. "How's your weapon's charge?" Heidi asked now that she'd been reminded of her own. HP: 36/40 Defended for: 5 Charge: 3/3; 0/2 spent

"Well that's good. Nice to know he's not harboring any deep seeded grudges." At least for that. She was fairly sure he was upset with her, but for a completely different reason, and not one she was eager to share with anyone that wasn't already aware of it.
The shove had her hopping back to regain her balance, and she gave Heidi an odd look before mention of her charge made her grin. "Pretty brutal, do you want to see it?" Well, it didn't matter if she did or not, Warrick was raging through her head in his eagerness for her to expel that trapped Fear, and as much as she knew the kick back would hurt like a b***h, she also knew if she landed the hit it would be solid, powerful.
"Here I come." She darted forward and Warrick let out a roar in her head as she channeled all that extra energy and siphoned it back to the tiny hunter. She felt it, it was more then he'd ever shoved into her before, and it startled her. Startled her enough that she hesitated, and that was enough time for Heidi to react. Peyton's small fist connected with the other girl's bow, and the force of the hit was, as she'd so accurately put it, brutal. It thrilled up her arm, jarred her shoulder, and she she jerked away from the other girl before those defensive blades could touch her.
"Mother ********!" God that hurt, she gave a sharp hiss, shaking her fingers out as she kept an eye on the taller blonde.
Well, that was kind of embarrassing.. And it had certainly tipped the fight to Heidi's advantage. s**t.

Heidi frowned. First Ro, now Peyton. Why were people pinning Tuck as this judgmental grudge holder who just hated on people because he could? It didn't sit well with her. "Yeah, Tuck isn't like that," Heidi shook her head. If one more person assumed Tuck was like that again she might flip. This was her boyfriend, she didn't like people talking about him like that. "He's a super nice guy, easy to talk to." So if someone thought he was mad at them maybe they should go freakin' talk to him about it.
"I think I can take it, bring it on." Heidi pulled back for an arrow. Unlike the others this one sparked and glowed brighter, and it seemed to be larger in size. But when Peyton rushed at her and hit Matilda she squeaked and stumbled back, her arrow flying high and sailing in the air with a loud shriek that quieted as it left earshot.
"Dangit...you okay, Pey?"
