Pale gold eyes glanced down at her growing round belly, it was so strange to think that living creatures were living inside her and gaining strength each day. Her mate was very attentive and always there to offer a helping hoof, but worry clouded the mares thoughts. Where was Eve and what diabolical plot was she devising? Gwenevere let out a loud sigh, she really should not worry, there were constant guards around her, ready to risk their lives for the heir of the kingdom.

She would not have been this concerned had it not been for Eve. Her sister was a deranged mare who had locked Gwen in a cave and taken her place by King Arthur's side. Eve even had the gall to consummate the mating (Gwen and Arty's) with Arthur and get pregnant with a son.

Even though Arthur has apologized constantly for that error, Gwen cannot help but feel a constant pain of hurt when ever she thought about that betrayal. How could he not know it was not her? Eve and Gwen were so opposite in personality that one would believe that are not even related.

Gwen shook her head and winced when the foals in her belly gave a hard kick. Her wince was replaced with a smile, her children were fighters and that is what would be needed to win this war against Eve.

BACKGROUND:

Love of a father can only last for so long before it becomes tainted with the greed and vindictiveness of another. Her mother did not survive giving birth to her daughter, and with her last breath named her Snow White, for her skin was white as snow, her lips were as red as blood, and her hair was dark like a raven’s wing. It was many years before her father sought to marry again, he chose a beautiful bride who was many years younger than he. The king was truly happy since the death of his first wife and he was glad to see that Snow loved her stepmother. Snow loved her stepmother in those first few blessed months, the Queen was so beautiful inside and out. It did not occur to the little princess that it was all a ruse. They were five months together as a family when the King died of a failing heart. It was after the funeral when the Queen’s true colors came to light.

She has no memory of her real mother; her only source of motherly love came from the Queen who cared more about her appearance than the young princess. To hide the growing beauty of the young princess, the Queen placed her in rags and had her help the servants clean the castle; but alas it still was not enough to hide the loveliness of Snow White. In her jealously the Queen sent Snow to a cottage in the woods with the idea of “out of sight out of mind”. Snow lived with seven dwarves who became her family and taught her the skills that no ordinary princess knew. She was able to wield a pickax with such accuracy she could hit a coin with her eyes closed. She learned how to discern the value of the minerals mined by her and the dwarves and how much they would fetch at market, where she met many interesting people, which many became her friend. . Months passed and Snow was happy for the first time in her life, she had a loving family and a place to call home. In the moment she sang of her happiness and it brought to her the handsome young prince from a neighboring kingdom. It was love at first sight. Their love continued to grow but then wickedness threatened to cut it short by poisoned apple. True love’s kiss awoke her from her slumber and together they made a plan to rid the kingdom of the Evil Queen and once again rule the kingdom with a kind hand. With Snow’s friends and family, she was able to retake the kingdom and banish the Queen. They were living their Happily Ever After when the curse came; there was no longer a happily ever after.

Her fake memories are vague and only become clear when she feels the need to recall something from her past. It is mostly dark memories, as she went from foster home to foster home never finding a family who would take her in. It was not until sophomore year of high school when light finally came into her life in the form of her biology professor, he opened her eyes to the sciences and she was in love with the subject ever since. Vague years of college and finally her memories are clear of her time at the academy.
