If anyone has any questions about the Forge World units that are being released for the Horus Heresy, I have the book Betrayal and can answer any questions you may have about new units and vehicles.

What's the premise, just a set of rules and armies against the backdrop of the Horus Heresy?

DarkElf27 What's the premise, just a set of rules and armies against the backdrop of the Horus Heresy? This, but with the rules and scenarios to replay the big old battles of 30k history, like the drop site massacres. pirate

That is correct. The book contains fuul scenarios to replay the Istvan III campaign as either the loyalists or traitors. I'm guessing that the next book will be Istvan V. Betrayal has new units and unit organization like the Legion Tactical squad that is a standard squad of 10 Marines and can go up to 20 Marines. The Support weapons of a Tactical Squad are a separate unit called a Tactical Support Squad. They start out as a 5 man squad all armed with flamers, but can add 4 more Marines and a Sergeant.

I forgot to mention that the book also has histories of four Legion and thier respective Primarchs; the Luna Wolves/Son's of Horus, the World Eaters, the Emperors Children, and the Death Guard. There are also stats for Legion specific units and characters. Another thing that is in this book is stats and rules for a Mechanicus army.

Mechanicum army is perhaps a bit too much of a stretch, as the only unique Mechanicum units in the book are the Thallax Cohort, Mechanicum Land Raider, Avenger and a Magos special character.
The next book, detailing the Drop Site Massacres, will add a few more Mechanicum units to the mix, as the intent was to slowly build up the army list over a few books.

That may be, but it is the first time we have had stats for Mechanicum infantry units. They are the basic units for the Ordo Reductor as opposed to the basic Skitarii for other Mechanicus forces. Oh, and you forgot to mention the Warhound and Reaver Titans.

You have to remember that during the Great Crusade it was unusual for the Legions to go into battle without titan support. Titans were also more common because so many had yet to be destroyed during the Heresy.
