Time came and went for the white fox as he watched the town below the mountain. seeing everyone pass by on their way home, to work or out with friends, but rarely to visit his shrine. He saw some older people now and then, listened to their prayers or occasionally led one lost child back home and received an 'offering' afterwards.
But there was one person he always watched in interest. The one boy who came on his own, drunk of course but seemed to always talk to him and tell him his problems. Yuki waited there during a snowy day, his lantern lit as he hid as a fox carving to look for Sean again

Sean walked up to the shrine. He was so drunk that it was more of a hobble. He carried a whiskey bottle in his hand as he sang drunkily. When he got to the shrine he looked at the large statue, "Da fuking lanlord kickd me out!" he screamed. "Sais i too drunk to pay rent! Dat I hav no job! I hav a job! I hav a job kickin his a**!" He screamed. Finally he fell over and snuggled into the snow, "S-so.... tird.... just gonna.... sleep here...."

Yuki watched him and blinked lightly before biting his lip. He just hoped he was too drunk to notice as the fox shifted into his true form on top of the shrine. the boy jumped down with his mask on and began to pick sean up to lead him inside the shrine "g-geeze you're heavy. . "

Sean grumbled in his sleep but didn't wake up. When he felt the warmth of the shrine he started to curl into himself.

Yuki watched him silently before smiling and rubbing his hair back gently, moving around to pull a spare blanket over Sean's shoulders as the snow fell again outside ". . just sleep. . I'll take care of you" he said and sighed as he sat back towards the door

When morning came Sean woke up and looked around, "What the hell? Where am I? Uhgh......" He held his head, "Damn hangovers...."

Yuki was watching him from behind the doorway, his mask on to keep himself ready to change into a statue again should Sean see him. but he looked around and scooted his offerings into the room in case the man was hungry

Sean looked over seeing the plate. He looked around, "hello? Is anyone here?" He called.

Yuki flinched softly and backed up to the door but he looked down in thought. what. ..would be so bad if sean actually did see him? would he freak out?
the fox took the chance and slowly peeked out from behind the doors. his red eyes looked over the man as his ears perked up ". . . I-I know it's not much. . .but it can do. . .till I get you some actual food"

Sean looked at him before blinking. "You.... you mean someone has been here... listening to me... this whole time?" He asked smacking his hand on his head.

". . .well, everyone needs someone to talk to. . right?" Yuki said quietly before he looked down and sat on the otherside of the door, swinging the lantern lightly to lighten the snow around the shrine "Do you have any other place to stay. .sean?"

Sean nodded a bit then looked at the plate again, "I don't. Landlord threw me out and I'm pretty much just a drunk." He said starting to eat the food on the plate.

the fox looked down at the snow and sighed softly, rubbing one of his ears in thought before glancing back at Sean "well, maybe you can stay here. the monk who cares for this place can get you a job caring for the shrine along side him. or maybe referring you to any job in town." he nodded and turned a little more to face Sean "I don't use the spare house behind it and the monk has another home, so it's only a bit dusty is all"

Sean blinked a bit, "Why do this for me? You've seen how I am. I'm not someone you should be caring about." he said finishing his food.
