Leto, too, had people who looked to her for guidance. But fear was not an option for her anymore. Not while she was the leader of the Dark Mirror Court, not when she had to fill Ares' shoes any time she was absent, and not when she was doing something so basic such as patrolling. Fear was weakness, and weakness was unacceptable.

So while she needed to stay alive, or face leaving the Court in someone else's hands... Leto was reckless. She would flit in and out of mirrors as if it had become second nature to her, learning the more heavily-mirrored buildings and parts of town that the DMC Senshi had littered with their preferred mode of transportation.

When she was patrolling, she felt the familiar tingle at the nape of her neck; the signal that there was a White Moon Senshi nearby. And tonight, Leto wanted to get her hands dirty. With a grin splitting upon her lips, she slipped in one mirror and out another, her boots noisy on the ballet room's wooden floor.

When she pushed through the door into the community center's hallway, she came face to face with a former teammate. "Maia," she said, taking a step back. A single word, dripping in some contempt and confusion both.

Leto knew how Ares felt about Maia. Traitor. The word ran through her mind over and over again while she just sort of stared at the other Senshi. She knew that Ares would never take Maia into the Dark Mirror Court. So what now? Did she lure her into the ballet studio, where Leto would have the upper hand in a room literally covered in mirrors? She couldn't call Ares to come finish her off, so would she kill her herself?

Apparently at some point her hands had balled to fists at her side, and she was unconsciously chewing on the inside of her bottom lip. Something about her former teammates made her nervous. In any other situation, there wouldn't have been any hesitation, Leto would've already been on the White Moon Senshi by now. But not with Maia, not with a member of the Blood Moon Court.

She scratched at the back of her head before looking down at her fuku and then back up at Maia. "Has it really been that long?," she asked in regards to her changes. Maybe it had. Her eyes glanced down at Maia's hands, tugging at her own fuku, before meeting her eyes again. "I was patrolling and felt... Well, you, I guess. Mirrors in the ballet room made it convenient and I was looking for a fight, to be honest," she laughed.

"I could kill you," Leto replied flatly. "I could call my teammates and they would come through those mirrors within seconds as my back-up. I'm sure Ares would love your pretty little head on a stake. And I do go above and beyond to please my Queen."

She stopped herself, shaking her head with a sigh. "I'm sorry. I get a little bit... Ahead of myself sometimes. Get into things fist-first instead of talking. Not much has changed," she offered Maia a smile and held her right hand out to her, her own way of waving a white flag. "Truce?"

Okay, so maybe she was asking a little much of the other girl- threatening to take her head off and then asking for a truce? But whatever, Leto did it anyway... Because deep down she still had a profound love for the Blood Moon Court.

As a sign of good faith, Leto summoned her mirrored compact to her hand- her equivalent to the Senshi cellphone that she once carried- and put in on the ground between the two of them. "Now you know I can't call anyone," she offered a smile and took a step back.

Leto had to take a moment to consider Maia's questions. Why did she follow Ares, giving up her entire life, without a thought?

The answer was simple, "I was lost before the Blood Moon Court, Maia. Ares made me important. She turned me into a Senshi that was actually useful. When Ares came to us as a Dark Mirror Princess... How could I abandon the one person who bettered me? We did really, really shitty things in the Blood Moon Court. Things that I still can't get out of my head no matter how hard I try. I can still hear them screaming and begging and... I don't know, maybe this is my way of redeeming myself. I would follow Ares to hell and back if she told me it was the right thing to do."

She rubbed at the back of her neck and sighed, "I know you don't get it. I know it doesn't make sense. I miss you all, I miss my family and the people I left behind... But I would never trade any of it for what I have now."

Leto couldn't help but roll her eyes at Maia's lecture.. The same one that she had heard from Camelot time and time again.

"Ares knows what we did was wrong and we work with the Negaverse to atone for our sins. The rest of you? What do you do to make up for what we did to Tanzanite and the others? You may feel bad for what you did, but you're doing nothing to change it or to fix it. Nothing will change as long as you're one of them, Maia."

When Maia questioned what exactly it was that Leto had, she narrowed her dark red eyes. How dare she? "I have a leader, which is more than any of you White Mooners can say. I have direction. I have an end goal. I walked away from a family that turned their back on their leader! What the Inner Sanctum did to Ares was awful and I would never want to be a part of that. Does the Blood Moon Court even exist anymore!? If Ares hadn't taken me with her right then and there, I would have followed her until she did, because she was the only good thing going for Order. The BMC fell apart without her. She was the only person willing to really, truly fight for what she believed in. In the last year I haven't encountered a single Senshi like her."

It was almost a little ridiculous how much Leto idolized Ares- but the Senshi of Smoke was all that Leto really knew. She was familiar, and she was her only tie to her old life. Maybe it was the corruption talking, the Chaos that englufed her starseed that made her so blindly dedicated to the woman; it was hard to say.

"I'm the Captain of her Court. I have a new family. I have people that I love and that would die for me." She shrugged her shoulders half-heartedly. "I just don't believe for a second that I would've had any of those things without the Dark Mirror Court. I would've been a lost Senshi with nothing, like the rest of you."

"Fine. I don't know anything about you anymore. Good on you if you're actually doing something, but there is no saving us. It will be us saving you at the end of this war."

Leto's stance shifted slightly, as if she was completely bored with this conversation. She honestly couldn't care less about what Maia or anyone else for that matter had to say about Ares. Nothing that anyone could say would make any difference in the world to her.

Taking a step towards Maia, Leto cracked the slightest of smiles. She poked at Maia's chest with her right index finger.

"If you honestly believe that the disorder of the White Moon can win anything, you're delusional. I admire your conviction, Maia, but that's about it. The tough act is super cute though!"

Leto turned and pushed open the door leading back into the ballet room, glancing over her shoulder at the other Senshi. "Good luck, Maia. If you change your mind about all of this... Maybe I can put in a good word for you."

With that, she slipped through the door and let it close behind her to separate the two Senshi before she pushed through a mirror and disappeared.
