Shangri-la walked down across the construction site having felt the presence of a youma minutes before, but now feeling nothing. It was a very odd thing as he hadn't encountered many youma fast enough to completely disappear nor had he encountered one whose signature just disappeared. He swore it had been around a minute ago, but as he walked there was nothing and no one, at the moment, so instead he took a moment to himself.

He sat on top of a pile of beams carefully not wanting to knock them over and possibly gravely injure himself. Wouldn't that be something to tell his sister or even Camelot. No I didn't get injured by a nega, or a youma, no instead I knocked over a beam on a construction site.

He looked around briefly wondering what was being built or possibly rebuilt. It wasn't as though there weren't already a number of empty or abandoned building lying around one could flip, but he guess it was good they didn't or the abandoned gymnasium wouldn't be available for training. He looked at the ring that sat on his finger and thought about what his grandfather of sort had explained to him about his wonder about his supposed duties and frowned, he didn't think they fully applied to this war, but he'd listened.

General Painite was watching the knight from a short distance off, lucky enough to have caught sight of him early. She was on a roof top, and had powered down to stalk him. If he had gone too far or run off too fast she would not have been able to keep up with him without powering up to follow and losing her drop on him.

She recognized him, and was all too keen on playing. This was a perfect chance.

Watching him as he sat down on the pile of beams, she grinned. It took her a moment to get to him, powering up and teleporting almost immediately after. She appeared beside him and lashed out, kicking the beams and slamming them out of balance beneath him.

It looked precarious up there, after all, and why not use her surroundings to her advantage?

It wasn't like she cared if she was interrupting something or not.

Shang hadn't thought of the possibility of someone following someone else in a civilian form to hide there signature. This was maybe because he'd been introduced to cats who dampened signatures for the training session, so he'd been a little blinded to the fact that of course you have no signature when you are not powered it could be used to you advantage as long as you were careful.

Painite scared him with her sudden appear, very quickly up in his personal space, causing him to jump and flail in his stumbling as he attempted and failed not to go tumbling with the beams that went on from underneath him.

He stumbled mostly on top of them only receiving a good thwack from one that bounced a little to high. He found himself down on the ground his weapon summoned in his panic looking up at probably the last person he wanted to see. It was the woman he met some time ago and had hit right in the face with his hammer. He's apologized hadn't he.

He quickly scrambled to his feet back up a few paces, "look I have no more desire to fight you than I did the first time we met. I'm sorry if I hurt you, but in all fairness you were trying to hurt me as well." He was rambling, clearly he wanted to avoid this, though he had the distinct feeling it wouldn't happen this time.

"Oh, no. You don't understand how this works. You get to run away once. You get a free hit, a taunting threat of my not being done with you. And then you get a little time, maybe to wrap up your affairs, maybe to forget you ever met me. But now? Now we've met again, and this is where your story comes to an end. See? A nice little arch, for a nemesis of mine. However short lived."

She had not given him that much time since their last meeting, after all.

Summoning her spear to her hand, she watched him with a cold, dangerous expression. She was not as playful as she had been before, though she was still enjoying herself. It was just more an inward excitement for now, so she could appear calm and deadly. It was all about appearance. It was all about fear.

Fear was the strongest emotion that could be evoked, and by far her favorite. She followed him, letting him scramble.

"If you're confused, I'm going to kill you now." She grinned wickedly, then lunged at him, stabbing her spear forward.

He frowned and his frown only deepened as she explained who things went down so to speak. He seriously didn't get any more than last time why this girl, this woman wanted to end his life so bad. "Why? Why are you so intent on ending me? What about my family, my friends, my life outside of all this? Does that mean nothing to you all?"

He gripped his hammer still tighter taking another step back for fear that he would be attacked soon. The one step back was barely accomplished before she had a spear in hand and Shang didn't even need to look at his weapon to know he was really in trouble at the moment.

She lunged and he left to the side, hitting the dirt and pushing up in a mad scramble to escape her. She was crazy and he needed to get away. He would certain from this moment on pay more attention to where he was going. He was ran for just a second before he jumped up to a beam on the second floor on the barely constructed building, but he figured it would to.

Painite watched him, her eyes burning. They were so bright and such a sweet color, but they were fathomless in their way. They had a deep wickedness to them, an appreciation for evil and darkness that glimmered in the sea green like shadows. She was never without an edge, no matter how sweet she could look.

Her small stature, her sweet little accent: none of it matched what she was truly capable of.

"If you tell me who they are, all these friends and family you're so worried about, I'll make sure they'll follow you where you go. If you believe in that sort of thing. it's a very romantic gesture, after all. And I'm all too happy to help."

She smirked and watched him while she spoke, letting him run away from her. It was not like she couldn't follow. She let him go, let him run. Give him some distance, a sense of hope that he had a chance of getting away from her if he just ran hard enough.

And then she teleported, and cut off his path.

"Where are you going? It's very rude to run away from a conversation like that. I was being very kind, making you a generous offer, and you just leave me standing. That's so rude."

Her words made his heart thunder in his chest, he wouldn't ever give up the names of his family and friends. He didn't want to die, but if he died tonight he most certainly wasn't taking anyone with him. "You're idea of romanticism needs work. Hell even I know your purposed idea is hardly a romantic gesture."

She hadn't chased him, but he looked over his shoulder for a mere second and he saw her watching him. It gave him an unnerving feeling, but he couldn't think about as he moved across the beams wanting to get to the other side of the building, jump and make a run for it, but the beams didn't offer much escape.

He gotten a small bit of distance, but it didn't matter as she teleported right in front of him, giving him another scare and make him nearly loose his balance. He flailed to remain upright and grab onto the only thing available, which was her. His eyes went somewhat wide, but he didn't immediately let go, pausing for the briefest of seconds, wondering if could scoop her up like he did when he sparred with Ida and possibly drop her, but looking down he wasn't even sure he had it in him to push her off like that.

Where had all that enthusiasm gone, all the determination he'd had for the last few weeks. "I wasn't trying to be rude, one doesn't stand in one place while another threatens to kill them and end there family and friend as well."

Painite smiled as he gripped on to her, tilting her head to the side and watching him placidly.

"Aw. I like hugs as much as the next lady, but you should really invite a woman to dinner first, before you get all grabby." She grinned at him, then her lashed out and smashed her palm straight into his chest plate, shoving him away from her with a violent hit.

She was perfectly balanced, it seemed, or maybe she just had so much confidence that she did not fear the chance of falling or stumbling. She was strong and she knew it, and beyond that she had no cares in the world.

"Better be careful around here," she said, in a sing song tone, "it's pretty dangerous." What with all the construction, and the crazy murderer Negaverse General.

Shang turned as red as his hair, not that it was noticeable in the night light, but could certainly tell. He want to utter an apology only to have a palm slammed into his chest sending him tumbling backward in to a beam a few feet behind him.

He hit is head on the beam and winced, but was otherwise fine. He glared at her, "I'm a gentleman. I do not get all grabby." His glare didn't let up as he made a leap for a beam about five feet away before deciding to jump up another level.

Her taunts went ignored. Could she keep popping around like that forever, he doubted it. As nervous as he was to be running around on beams, he figured he would probably have more trouble on the ground, as odd as that may sound.

His weapon found his way back into his hand and he quickly skitter across the beam he was standing on. As much as he didn't want to fight her, it obviously wouldn't do to let her kill him. He was getting to that point, the point of feeling back into a corner, he wouldn't remain docile for long.

Apologizing to Painite was probably not going to help him one way or the other. She did not, oddly enough, seem to respond to kindness and politeness as much as others might. In fact, she usually saw such acts as little signs of weakness.

She smiled at him, watching him as he stumbled and hit his head. Poor thing.

He jumped away and she watched him, grinning and giving chase on foot this time. He was going to give her a chase so she might as well enjoy it for what it was. She ran after him, leaping up and landing lightly. She loved the chase, figuratively or literally.

"Where are you running to, little man? Don't be a coward! Aren't you supposed to represent what Knights stand for? Or is this the best they have to offer? A scared man, out of his depth, no idea how to survive." She laughed, teleporting to appear in front of him again, holding her spear ready as if she wanted him to run right into it.

"If that is the case, I very much approve of this new image you guys are going for."

Her taunts only bothered him a little. He didn't he was a coward for not wanting to have him life ended violently or for not want to beat on a woman. He could be a better knight, he knew the body well enough to injure someone easily. He was gaining the ability to fight more and more as time drew on and he was certainly strong. All his hospital work, swimming and training made sure of that, he just ... frowned deeply at nearly running into Painite's spear, the tip pressing slightly into his vest before he jumped back, almost unbalancing himself.

"I don't particulary care how you see me, especially since you are the one wielding a sword and handing out death threats. Is that what you want to portray? A psychotic murderous lunatic as a opposed to a strong young woman, which you probably see yourself as," or at least that is what he hoped as he spoke, "but hardly project. You're a maniac, or at least you very much appear to be."

He summoned his weapon, thought the thing was dinky, it had done well for him thus far and he was growing use to having it by his side. He back up a bit more, "very well, I think you've made it clear you can head of my every attempt at escape ..."

Cornered, he felt cornered. He just hoped to the starts tonight wouldn't be his last night.

"This is a spear," Painite said, pointing at her weapon in a moment of theatrical teaching. Just in case he was too mixed up from the battle to remember what he was looking at, since he had called it a sword. Sure, he could have been speaking in a metaphorical sense, as those damn White Mooners were wont to do, but Painite was not too keen on playing along.

She had her own game going.

"I don't think it's wise to be hurling insults at a woman in my position. I mean, is calling me a murderous lunatic really going to make me stop wanting to murder you with ample amounts of lunacy? Probably not." She grinned at him, clearly not fussed by his attempts to appeal to her. It did make her feel a fire burning in her chest to see him turn and try to fight, his little weapon in hand.

"How very brave of you, sir knight. To face down an impossible foe. So chivalrous, you lot. But it won't do you any good. I hope you were on good standings with your family before you set out tonight, because you're never going to see them again. Whatever you said to them last will be the way they remember you. You better hope it's something worth remembering."

Her eyes flashed with a deep malevolence that did not look right on such a small and dainty frame, in such sweet and lightly colored eyes. The hatred in her expression was pure, and she did not hold it back by any means. She charged at him, spear flashing forward, aiming to bring him down wound by wound, until he had nothing left to give.

Shang was momentarily confused at being introduced to a spear, or so it seemed like. He wondered briefly why the spear wielding thought the introduction necessary, not at all realizing it was he who had called it a sword in her nervous word babble.

"No," he nodded, "I don't suppose it would. I guess I just don't get it because like I said when I first met you ... You look like a knight."

He frowned at her words, but it did make him think about the last thing he had said to his family members and it wasn't hard. He'd only talk to his sister, but no one else from his family. He resolved to call his parents and sister in England, as soon as he got home, if he got there.

Shang nearly fell when she charged, stumbling back in the clumsiest of manners and swinging out his little reflex hammer in instinct. He'd try his damnedest to knock the spear away, but his aim was a bit wild and his balance was precarious at best.

If he was trying to piss her off, it was really working. Her eyes flared with anger as he insisted that she looked like a knight. As if she had any resemblance to those pathetic White Moon fools! She had been in this attire, albeit an earlier form, long before the knights had begun to taint the city with their presence.

If anything, they looked like her! And even that was preposterous.

"I'm going to kill you, you know," she growled, letting him scramble from her attacks. She was not going to go easy on him now. No, he was going to be shredded, and some other knight might find his Order aligned remains in a few days. Let them ponder over that slaughter for a while, and know that Painite was still out there, still hunting.

And she hated being insulted.

His hammer did nothing to make her hesitate, and she charged at him again, stabbing her spear forward as if to stab him, though slashing when she was close enough, hoping to anticipate his effort to dodge her. She would get him on the ropes, make him desperate. It was always more fun that way.

Shang frowned at her words because he already knew she was going to try and kill him and he was no closer the other otherside of the construction site, away from her and closer to freedom.

His hammer seemed to be totally useless in this fight, she seemed to ignore it and keeping coming for him. He thought she was going to try to stab him and her certainly wanted to avoid this. He'd seen and healed a spear wound before, he did not want to be the recipient of one in the least. He couldn't really go to either side of him, as unbalance as he was, he knew without thinking that he would fall.

He jumped straight up to the next beam catching the underside and catching the spear on his thigh, letting out a shout of pain as it tore open his pant leg and cut his skin. The barely seemed any real distance between his feet and the beam he'd just jumped from, less than five feet he was sure, which meant he was still in reaching distance of the 'hunter'.

Shang swung back quickly and swung forward, fully intending to kick Painite, while also hoping to get the rest of him on the beam above.
