It had only been one glass, he swore. One small glass of wine, not even an old vintage, and yet here he was, head aching. It had been to recognize his achievement of finishing a long day's work, plus what had been left to sit previously. His desk had also been cleaned, finally in working order and to his satisfaction. The books had been put away, no longer haphazardly tossed upon the floor, and certainly he had been taking better care of himself. Perhaps it had been the returning of his employees, including his right hand man in particular. He had no time to mope about, certainly no time to even sigh upon what had occurred in the past. Work kept it all off his mind, though he found himself less bothered by it.

One glass of wine shouldn't have had him on the couch, reading to try and take his mind off of the splitting headache while he waited for the medicine to kick in. However, the words didn't seem to cooperate with his eyes, and instead he took to setting it aside with a heavy sigh, eyes slipping closed. He shouldn't be too busy today, unless of course someone decided to make more work for him.

Elliot laid his ears back and wrinkled his nose cutely. He was getting progressively more used to this place, but some things were still odd. Like the cat, and the twins, Alice, Mary, Julius and even Nightmare, all these people were around, but that was it. It was strange to not have Ace about to lead back to the right path, or the queen. The cat even had family, what was that all about? Plus the boss had had two lovers before he got here. He wasn’t even sure what to make of it. It was all crazy, and too much to think about. He shook his head, ears flopping back and forth.

He gave a soft knock on Blood’s door with his knuckles before walking in. “Hey boss I…” He stopped mid sentence and looked at the empty desk and now clean office. Well at least the boss had been doing something productive, though where had he gone? He glanced around before his eyes fell on the male laid out on the couch, eyes closed looking… pained?

“Boss what are you doing? Get up we got work.” He stated walking over to whap Blood in the head lightly with the papers. Lazy bag of bones, sleeping on the job like that, he sat the papers down on the desk before moving back to stand over the other. “Boss?” He asked tilting his head to the side, ears flopping slightly to that side. The boss honestly didn’t look so good, he wondered what was wrong.

The knock was enough to make him open one eye, and instantly regret doing so. Elliot, of course, who else would come and bother him? Of course, then again, he probably did have work to do. It was nice to have his second in command back, especially since he could occasionally purposefully forget things...He couldn't get away with it now, could he?

"Yes, I know.." He sighed, sitting up slowly as he rubbed his temples, blinking a few times to adjust to the light. "It's good to know I'm never going to have a moments rest with you back." It was meant fondly, though perhaps the headache left a bit of an edge on his words. Soon enough, he got to his feet, not for a moment letting himself sway or waver.

"I just had the mind to have a glass of wine as a reward. It seems I've forgotten how little we agree." He crossed his arms the slightest, looking his partner over, though he let the man smack the papers on his head. "I'll have someone fetch me some tea, come and fill me in on these." He held his hand out for the stack, taking it before heading to his desk. "What is the world up to now, hmm?"

Elliot blinked at the other before shaking his head. "If you know then..." He gave a soft sigh before moving forward. He sat on the edge of the desk and looked at the other a brow quirking upward. "It's good to know that?" He asked quizzically. He didn't think it would be very good to know you were never going to get a moments peace. He was careful, watching Blood like a hawk. The other had been a little under the weather, and if there was something wrong with him then it was his loyal guard dog's responsibility to make it better.

"The world is always up to something new." He shook his head once more before rolling his shoulders. "Do you really think you should be working if you are having it that bad? Maybe you should lie back down. These can wait till in the morning you know." He said putting his hands over the paper. He didn't trust that it was just wine that had made Blood like this. The male was a notorious hard head that didn't listen to reason. He would be doing better to just rest and make sure the other didn't get extremely sick. "I'll go make some tea, you lay back down. And don't try to read anything, you just go crosseyed." He stated as he moved to stand and make his way to the door. He was worried, honestly worried, Blood had been getting better but he could still tell some things were wrong.
