At the time they had made the plans to test the limits of Roland's new strength with fear charges this had all seemed like a good idea. Now, standing out on the training field, waiting for Ro to show up, she was beginning to have doubts. Not enough to warrant calling the other hunter and cancelling, but enough to tell her she wasn't entirely reckless and stupid. Or maybe she still was, considering she was still standing there. Arms folded over her chest, she tapped the toe of her boot against the packed earth as she waited for the taller hunter to arrive.

Roland had his own worries about this. Tuck was a trainee, Peyton, was a trainee, and at least Tuck was a moon and had some defensive natures about his weapon that could have helped him, and instead Roland sent him stumbling to the infirmary.
So when he arrived he gave Peyton a worried glance before shrugging.
"So you still wana go through with this? I could get another senior hunter to help, I was going to call Jordan about it even."

It was Roland's worried look that actually managed to dampen Pey's worries. She grinned at him as he approached, nodding stubbornly. "We'll be fine. It's not like we're gunna be hammering on each other until something breaks. It's not about winning or losing today." Shrugging out of her coat, she folded once then draped it over the arm of the closest dummy. "Okay, so I came up with a plan that should help minimize damage and keep things as controlled as possible." She had actually put a bit of thought into this, instead of blindly charging in. "You're going to hit me with Sylvia while I defend in block. Just enough so she can absorb as much fear as she needs for a charge. My Shield should be in good shape still, and I'll be defending against the blow out as well, so reduced damage," hopefully. "You just gotta warn me before that happens, deal?" As plans went, it wasn't awful. Maybe not entirely wise, but certainly not awful.

"Not wailing till the charge comes up and we both end up laying in the dirt." His own coat slipped off to hang beside her own. Turning back to Peyton he started to pace back and forth to keep his mind calm.
"Seems like a decent enough plan I guess..." He flexed his hands once before holding it up Sylvia appearing, looking slightly more detailed and deadly then when she had last seen her.
"Alright, I'll give you a heads up. But it's going to be crazy." He nodded for her to get ready to defend.

The had seemed incredibly sound until Ro summoned Sylvia and Peyton got a good look at her. Lavander eyes went a little wide as she stared at the weapon for a second or two before shaking her head and pulling her game face back in place. They had a plan, it would work, they were going to stick with that. No chickening out now. It wasn't easy though, going into this known she would be doing nothing but defending herself. That wasn't how Peyton usually operated. She was offensive, not defensive. But Roland needed help, and even if they'd only known each other briefly, she'd count him as a friend. She'd been given an extremely in depth lesson on loyalty a couple weeks back, and she was not about to go back on her word now. Sinking into a crouch, she called Warrick. Then nodded at Roland to begin. HP: 40 DMG: N/A DEF: 1 CHG: N/A miliardo Kason Of course I defend for 1, why wouldn't it be 1 all things considered. Lol.

Roland frowned slightly, it was clear Peyton was slightly unsettled by Sylvia's new form. He hadn't even broken her apart yet leaving her intact for now. Stepping forward he brought Sylvia up above his head before slashing down biting into Peyton's shield letting Sylvia drink deep from the fear it was made of.
"If you want to stop just say so."

Peyton gave a grunt as the scythe cam towards her, one small fist thrown up to deflect the blade as much as she could.
They had only sparred once, but it was obvious that Ro's power had gone up a notch. It had the tiny Sun gritting her teeth as she took the blow before shooting the other hunter a sour look. "Shut up and hit me."
She was tough, she could do this.

Roland only shrugged bringing Sylvia around backwards in a sweeping back hand like strike. He pivoted around bring the scythe by fast, fast enough that it looked just a bit to dangerous so he tipped it up zipping over Peyton's head.
"S-sorry it uhh looked like I might take your head off with that one..."

One small hand came up, ready to take some of the force of the hit, but it never connected. She felt her hair swirl in the whiplash as it the blade swung harmlessly over her head, and pale eyes snapped down in a hard glare on the other hunter as he apologized.
"My shield is next to full, would that have even been possible?" Her tone was distinctly icy as she stalked over to him and sucker punched his shoulder. It didn't do much damage, but it got her point across.
"Ok, new plan. So when I caught the Sylvia's blade with Warrick the first time He got a taste of fear, so I think we can switch places for now and have you defend, cause clearly you're too nice for the alternative." She said it as if kindness was a bad thing, but she was still there, she was still helping him. It counted.

Roland scowled at Peyton as she punched his shoulder, "Look I'm just saying, shields can break pretty fast if we aren't careful is all."
Stepping back he shook his head again, "Fine defense it is." Holding Sylvia length wise in front of his chest he twisted the weapon snapping her midway through, a chain spilling out as he brought the scythe and the metal shaft of her lower half up.
"Alright, swing at me."

Peyton scowled right on back before Roland had separated Sylvia into sections with a long chain connecting the two halves. She blinked, giving an impressed little hum, then put her game face back on.
Dropping low and charging forward, Peyton aimed a quick jab at the other hunter's chest. Something he shouldn't have too much trouble blocking.

Roland shifted stepping back with one foot turning to the side bringing the back end of Sylvia up, Warrick met the metal staff as the blow was directed across his chest rather then into it, for a moment both hunters would feel a shaking sensation, Sylvia vibrating from the contact. Somewhere in Roland's head she was meeping with delight mid song as the fear was absorbed.

Just a little bit more. Warrick was humming at the back of her mind, the fear she was absorbing was making him excited, but he wasn't the one they were trying to test.
She came at him again, preferring not to give herself any time to really consider what she was doing. If she thought about it, she wasn't going to want to do it. Thinking was bad, so she just kept going. Waiting for the warning that said she needed to switch from offensive to defensive maneuvering.
Of course, not thinking did nothing for her aim..
Sigh.

Roland twisted away from the blow the punch lazy, sloppy, and way off mark. The back end of Sylvia came up tapping her on the shoulder, "What was that about me not trying? You aren't doing that well either."
