*~::The Island::~*
A mysterious island, set amidst hurricane level rain at night. There are more mysteries here than you can count! It's like something out of a detective novel...
But who could be THIS cliche?
Not I, I say!

Raidou Kuzunoha the XIX"..." A young woman wrapped in a body-shrouding cape quietly stood on the island, largely ignoring the rain pounding down on her. That she had a hat on probably helped at least a bit, but she simply eyed the damage to the house as she walked inside and began to move through the hallways. Seemed like there was investigation to be done, but she was most interested in the bird noises. That seemed... very odd and unusual, and she really had no idea why it was there, but at the very least she could go investigate it and discover what could be learned. Solving mysteries one at a time usually helped keep things simple, anyway. Quote: Raidou has gone to investigate the Griffon!

Caws echoed from the sky outside, loud enough to hear near the windows despite the heavy rain! In the sky, streaks of red white and blue can vaguely be seen in the darkness, seeming entirely out of place in the small island nation...although, you can't even say you are near Japan anymore, for sure.
And whatever resides outside, it is clearly too large to be any bird known to man...

Raidou Kuzunoha the XIX"...It's going to be one of those nights, isn't it?" Raidou muttered, rubbing her eyes a bit as she tried to think this sort of thing through. Sigh. "In the name of America and... um... patriotism and... flag colors... get down here! Or... something." Heck if she knew. She was more into history than current culture, for a variety of reasons, though she did have her hands on her Tubes, ready to call out allies to defend herself if need be. Or maybe she could talk it into giving her a ride and figuring out what else was going on here; heck if she knew.

Quote: The Griffin
The ropes holding the flag to the beast that pulled it loosened, and the red white and blue slowly drifted towards the ground as the creature flew towards the lighthouse at the end of the island. There was a small peninsula of outcropped rocks, with little good footing along the path leading to it, and even through the storm one could make out a light from the tower.
You recalled no one other than the butler and the guests on the island, so who could be managing that light? And if you wish to pursue the flying creature, then the lighthouse would be your next destination for that, as well... Quote: Moans come from the front door, which rattles. Could someone, or something, be outside? Is it safe to investigate?

Raidou Kuzunoha the XIXWell, at least it had something of a result. Sigh. Hey, Raidou! Let's go walking in the middle of the night, with poor footing, to an unknown and potentially hostile destination! Yeah, that was a GREAT idea, wasn't it? Sigh. "I meant to land over here..." she sighed slightly, then tilted her head a bit and glanced towards the front door. One hand loosened the straps of her gun before she started walking further inside. If somebody wanted in, they could bloody well talk like a normal person. Or they could just rush after her and get a clip of bullets to the chest. Either worked. Quote: Raidou is heading further into the mansion!

As Raidou walked down the hallway, a creaking sound echoed now and then, as if each painting and empty suit of armor she passed shifted to watch her walk by. Nothing was immediately out of place, but the sound and the sensation made the atmosphere heavier than ever.
And then there was a stairwell. Up the stairs, the lights on the floor above flickered ominously, while further down the hallway a distance voice could be heard. A small girl...singing. Come to think of it, that was pretty bad, too.

Raidou Kuzunoha the XIXRaidou looked down at her Tubes, then cocked her ears again... and carefully went up the stairs instead of continuing towards that particular voice. It really didn't seem like a particularly good time to go after someone who was singing like that anyway... and she wanted to get a good idea of the layout of the house, especially since all of them had been invited to it.

The hallway is creepy, but there doesn't seem to be any obvious danger. The upstairs isn't too imposing, but there are just as many doors as one would expect of a mansion this size.
Down one direction you recall there is a kitchen, AND a more hospitable lounge for guests. The other way leads to a balcony, where lightening flashes in through the glass doors every now and then. You think you see the back of a figure standing outside, though who would stand in the rain is a mystery.
You also recall seeing a third floor, but there are no stairs to be found. There is a cord hanging from the ceiling though, much like the entrance to an attic. Also, devilish cackling. Is...is there someone up there!?
You can always return downstairs if you want...but the rattling of paintings and armor still echoes from behind you.

Raidou Kuzunoha the XIXYup, it's gonna be one of those nights... Raidou thought, sighing heavily. For one thing, she hoped some of the other guests would get here in the near future. In the meantime, though, the kitchen probably had some food. Or a bottle of wine. Or two bottles of wine... or three... something that could keep her occupied for awhile, anyway. Besides, people like this probably wouldn't mind too much if invited guests discreetly fed themselves, as long as things weren't overdone.

Mikoto Hageshii Member of the band Nyx
"Wha...what is that...?" Mikoto looked out the window with dropped jaw. This entire situation was unbelievable, what with giant monsters and...was was that moaning from the door? Every fiber of his being told him he was in danger, but even his phone had no service so there was little chance of help coming. And now the owner was murdered...what was going on?
Needless to say, he stood paralyzed with fear in the main hallway.

The kitchen was clean, well maintained by the now missing butler, save for one glaring problem; a knife lay on the counter, and a bloody rag was in the trash can. That killed the mood.
The only place that drew your interest otherwise was the refrigerator. Food, drink, it probably all resided there. An ominous feeling came from within...but also, perhaps answers. Like the truth was calling to you....
or you could simply leave. That was always an option, right? Going back outside.

Raidou Kuzunoha the XIXRaidou said something very unladylike. One of the things they always taught was to avoid disturbing a potential crime scene in case it came back to haunt you and, very disappointed, Raidou began trudging back the way she'd come. It was probably going to turn out to be the tools used to make dinner or something like that, really, but oh well. It wasn't like she really needed to get drunk right now or anything. For one thing, Soji wasn't here. For two things... well, Soji still wasn't here. Quote: >Away from the Kitchen Alcohol. D=

As Raidou returned to the hallway, the sense of dread from the kitchen faded. But now there was a new problem...many of the paintings that once lined the hallway were gone.
Those that remained were of one figure; an icy beauty, half human, and half dragon. And all appeared to be watching, no, staring directly at Raidou.
>"The study...go...to the study..." Several raspy voices called, perhaps from the paintings, or perhaps not. They were hollow, distant voices, but at the same time the only noise aside from the storm outside.
>And of course, there still remained the balcony
>the lounge,
> the third floor without a stairwell and...
> oh, of course, returning to the floor below.
But could Raidou ignore the call? They all seemed to come from one particular direction, towards the lounge. Perhaps another door down there was the old master of the house's study...perhaps she should start there. At least, that's what the disembodied voices hinted at.

Yasumoto KENSUBloods in the Rising Sun With the heavy rain pouring down, Kensu was not fully pleased at how heavy of a downpour was coming down. Being happy that he was inside rather than being out there in that mess, he returned his brains back to the fact of the murder that was obviously discovered. He looked around the main hallway, hearing the strange noises as well. Quote: Kensu is attempting to observe English Japanese EspaƱol
