So XBOX and Playstation gamers are up in arms defending their console and pre-ordering the new ones, but even as a serious Playstation lover, I'm very hesitant.

To begin with, I won't buy it in the first year. The first gen PS3 had a lot of issues and I won't buy a console with lots of issues and limited game selection. Also, with the game selection, am I the only one that was ever unhappy with the fact that the PS3 could not play PS2 games or something? Because the geniuses at Sony decided the PS4 shouldn't be backwards compatible AT ALL. That's a terrible idea.

But I could deal with it because the PS4 will inevitably be capable of a lot more than the PS3. Where I'm really drawing the line is at no more free online play. With the PS4, in order to play online, you have to have a Playstation+ account. I think they're missing the fact that one of Playstation's biggest advantages over XBOX in the first place was the free online play. Now what reason does anyone really have to choose Playstation over XBOX?

I think I'll stick with the older Playstations for now. I'm planning to buy another PS1 because the cover broke off my current one. And I still don't own a PS3, I just play my brother's.

I quite like the PS4 but even I am not going to be preordering it till I know it is problem free or at least it is near problem free. Also I would like a release date on Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV before I decide when I am going to get the PS4. But other than that I reckon the PS4 is a great console with some very nice features.

On the note of the PlaystationPlus being needed I can sorta see why as rumors say they would be losing money than they are making money due to the price they are selling the PS4 at and that is why they are putting a small fee a month to play online but the PlaystationPlus does give a lot in return or so I have heard from various people..

My brother has it and he gets free games once in a while, but I'm sort of picky with games and whenever I'm in school, I stop playing games when my homework gets crazy. It's seems like a waste.

Also, I read that the PS2 was sold at a loss when it was first released. The PS2 wasn't really an online console, aside from the few games that allowed online play, so it's not like they enforced any extra charges then.

The only game that's been announced so far that I have any interest in playing is FFXV. Considering how long they've been working on it, I'm positive it's going to be the best FF in a long time. I hope it comes out sometime next year. I've been dying to play that game since it was still FFvXIII, and people were sure that it was never going to come out. crying

Playstation 4 will probably beat out the xbone this time around. I myself am waiting until about summer of next year before I pick one up, for the reason of bugs and issues probably popping up. But I have a feeling both machines will be that way. Xbox 360 had many bugs coming on the market as well so neither machine was perfect.

To be honest I think I'll get it. It's more succesful so far because even 360 owners weren't impressed witt the unboxing of the xbox One.

However I'm not as desperate for it as I was when the PS3 came out. To be honest I'll probably wait until after Christmas and go out and get a bundle rather than preordering just the console.

I'm still on a line on what I should do about it. I think I'll end up getting it in the end, though. Killzone:Shadowfall and Warframe.... those are the main reason I'll be getting the system. My brother is already getting COD: Ghost on his ps3, so... I'll just subtract that from the reasons among them razz

Of course, the glitches are important to consider.

Also, I like the fact that now that the PS4 and The Xbox One are identical, people will have nothing to complain about, other than actual performance and the service.

I look forward to all the silly comments the hardcore fanboys will come up with to justify why their console is "The Best"

The current generation started with me leaning more towards the xbox 360 and it ended with me leaning towards the PS3. The upcoming generation has me leaning towards the PS4. I wonder if my opinion would have changed towards the end.

You got the right mindset right now. Don't go buying stuff like this right away. When consoles come out brand new they usually still got some kinks to work out. I was upset about the PS3 not being backwards compatible, but i understand the reason why the PS4 can't be backwards compatible with PS3 games. I think it's mainly because of that cell processor. Now that the PS4 uses a x86 architecture cpu, i think it might make it damn near impossible. Perhaps the developers can offer patches to the game to make it compatible, but that would require a huge patch and a ridiculous amount of work.

The consolation is the PSN store. Where they are uploading games from all the way back to the PS1 to purchase and download. keyword = purchase.

Well right now it isn't worth getting either one. One probably would have got either because of Watch_Dogs. But since that was pushed back to spring 2014 it probably isn't worth it.

Personally, I'd get a PC. I think the exclusives aren't worth dishing out the money for the initial console and the service. At least with PC you have Steam so you have access to TONS of games and sometimes there are super sales on the games. Not to mention awesome F2P games like Planetside 2.

If I were to choose a console (Not including handhelds), I'd choose the Wii U. It's cheaper than both the Xbox One and the PS4 and there are already some awesome games already out like Wonderful 101, Luigi U. There are some awesome games coming out in the future like Bayonetta 2, Watch_Dogs, Donkey Kong Jungle Freeze, and of course Smash Bros. Plus no service fees snd they have the Virtual Console to buy classic games.

I'm pretty happy with it so far. At the moment I have just the three games for it. Two are Indie games which I got due to them being part of the Playstation Plus Instant Game collection. Mercenary Kings and Stick it to the Man. I have not played Mercenary Kings much as side scrolling shooters are not really my forte. Consequently I am very poor at it. Stick it to the Man is incredibly enjoyable though. Find the humour and weird storyline to very much appeal to my tastes. Gameplay is easy enough, if sometimes fiddly.

The other game I have is inFAMOUS Second Son. I found that game to be so much more exciting than I had anticipated. I do enjoy the inFAMOUS series, but I had not really been expecting too much from this game. It is a shame that the main character irks me a bit.

Simple and blunt answer:

If you can't decide between the two consoles, think is there any exclusive u must play?

U need the next halo? well Xbox one it is
Need uncharted? Well ps4

Outside of the exclusives however, the answer is pretty simple, PS4. Overall its leads in games, games, quality, better UI and support at the current time, and likely will remain so for 2 years if not longer.

Additional Note: i am an owner of an Xbox One.

For some perspective I used to live with five other people. In total we had over five Xboxes, a few PS2s and a PS3 not to mention a sega and about five computers.

I was okay with the PS3 after figuring out how it worked and how to move around on the menus, the Xbox was easier in my opinion but I haven't really heard anything that really makes me want to shell out for a new PS4.

Especially if the internet play isn't free and they're not backwards compatible. If I can't play ALL my games what's the point in upgrading?

I'm also pretty limited currently, I just have a 3DS which also means I don't have anything to trade in.

I have always been a Play Station person. So making this move to next gen was a no brainer for me. What can I say, I love the Play Station way too much. I doubt any other system can replace it or even get close to it. I have tried other systems, but this baby is still my #1 when it comes to games.
