Shinobi Professions are a required part of every character. Which profession you take determines how your character will progress throughout their career, and what skills they will excel in. These professions are split up into two sections. Base Benefits, and Rank benefits.

Base Benefits

Each profession has a number of base benefits. All of these benefits are applied to your character on character creation. They define what every member of that given profession is capable of.

Rank Benefits

Rank benefits are more exclusive. They are split into three groups. Genin, Chuunin, and Jounin. Each group contains at least two benefits. Upon reaching one of these ranks, you may choose one benefit listed under that rank, to be immediately added to your character. If you don't like any of the benefits available to your current rank, you may instead choose one benefit of lower rank to take that spot instead. This does not negate your ability to get the best benefit at the next stage.

As an additional bonus, characters that achieve S rank may take one additional bonus of up to chuunin rank from their current profession, or one bonus of D rank from a second profession. If the second option is taken, they do not gain access to the second profession's base benefits.

Base Benefits

Increased Chakra Pool: Due to Ninjutsu Specialist's heavy dependence on the ability to use jutsu, they train themselves to increase their chakra reserves beyond that of the average nin.
(Increases base chakra modifier by +2/10.)

Ninjutsu Training: Ninjutsu specialists have a higher understanding of how jutsu work allowing them to learn higher level Ninjutsu than other shinobi.
(Can learn one additional ninjutsu up to three ranks above the user.)

Rank Benefits

Upon reaching the required rank, you may choose one of the benefits labeled under that rank, adding that ability to your character immediately. Choose wisely, as these can change how you utilize your profession and abilities greatly.

Genin Benefits

1) Clone Specialist: Ninjutsu Specialists often work best when teamed with themselves. Their reliance on Clones, teamed with their natural understanding of Ninjutsu allows some rare geniuses the ability to create cheaper clones, as well as understand more complicated versions.
(Can learn Clone Jutsu one rank above the user provided all other requirements are met. All Clone jutsu are also one rank lower in chakra cost. (Clone jutsu do not count against the user's max number of higher ranking jutsu.))

2) Signature Jutsu: Many Shinobi are known for picking one jutsu and focusing on its use above all others. Because of this focus they learn to use their signature jutsu more effectively. The Ninjutsu Specialist chooses one jutsu that they know when they pick this benefit, performing extra training in it. That jutsu becomes their signature jutsu and receives certain benefits.
(As the user gains rank, they are able to either choose another signature jutsu, or upgrade a previous one. This equates to three upgrades in total, one at genin, chuunin, and jounin rank.

There are two benefits that can be gained by choosing a signature jutsu, which can be chosen individually by the user.
● For one, the user trains with their chosen jutsu for five posts, learning how to use it more efficiently, wasting less chakra. The end result being that that jutsu costs the same as a jutsu of one less rank in power from that point on.
● For the second, the user spends five posts training with their jutsu, to increase it's power by applying extra chakra to it. The end result of this is a jutsu of one full rank higher power, but also a rank higher in cost.

A single jutsu can be upgraded with this benefit only twice, and can not receive the same upgrade twice. A rank jutsu cannot receive the power boost, and S ranks cannot be taken as signature jutsu. The user may change to a new signature jutsu at any time, but in doing so they must perform the training again, and will lose the bonus on their previously chosen jutsu.)

Genin Jutsu:

Chuunin Jutsu:

Jounin Jutsu:

Chuunin Benefits

1) Chakra Regeneration: With enough focus, some ninjutsu specialists are capable of accelerating their natural chakra regeneration to incredible rates, becoming able to recharge their chakra even during battle.
(After one full post of using no chakra, the specialist begins to regain chakra every post for as long as they do not use any chakra. This rate begins at one point, and increases every second post by one point, until a maximum of five. (Post 2 +1, Post 4 +2, Post 6 +3, etc.))

2) Extra Element: Rarely, a shinobi can learn to tap into an extra element beyond their normal ability. By studying a foreign element, the shinobi can learn to manipulate and use it as if they had a natural affinity for it.
(The Ninjutsu specialist gains access to another element, but they can only learn Ninjutsu for this element, and can only learn up to B rank jutsu.)

Jounin Benefits

1) Hand Seal Mastery: The Ninjutsu Specialist has learned to recognize a jutsu based completely on the hand-seals used to perform the jutsu, so long as he/she has seen the technique before. If he/she does not know the technique, then he/she can attempt to learn the technique based entirely on the hand-seals. If the ninjutsu specialist already knows the technique, then they can attempt to counter the jutsu by performing the hand-seals in reverse. [5 post cooldown] Must be able to clearly see the target's hands performing the seals. Countering a jutsu causes it to dissipate if fully formed, or simply not work if still in the creation phase.

(To try and learn a technique from the handseals roll a 6 sided die, if the result is a 1 or 5 then the specialist memorizes the seals, becoming able to learn the technique at a later time without instruction [Must meet all requirements (element and rank) to learn. Cannot learn higher rank jutsu.])

(To negate a jutsu the user knows, perform the handseals in reverse. This costs the same chakra as the jutsu being countered at base cost. Must start reversing the seals immediately after the opponent begins. S-rank techniques cannot be countered.)

2) Multi-Casting: The ninjutsu specialist has dedicated his training to being able to cast jutsu quickly in order to overwhelm his enemies. In doing so he has learned to cast a jutsu multiple times simultaneously, despite only performing the seals required once.
(Able to cast a single jutsu up to four times simultaneously for jutsu two or more ranks below the user, and twice for jutsu one rank below. Each cast must be paid for individually. This cannot be used on A or higher ranked jutsu. Hand seals are required when using this benefit, regardless of whether the user needs them normally or not. This benefit can only be used once in a single post regardless of other benefits, and has a one post cooldown.)

(Can cast up to two Genjutsu in one move. Does not stack with Combo User ninja type.)

2) Catalyst Control: Most genjutsu require a catalyst, a specific action that draws the target into the illusion. Often however, other shinobi familiar with the genjutsu will expect the catalyst, avoiding it's use, and thus, the genjutsu. To remove this weakness, some genjutsu specialists have learned to change the catalyst, so that any given action, usually one the target does not expect, will draw them into the illusion.
(Able to change the required catalyst to an action of the user's choice. Modified catalyst must however be of equal complexity to the original.)

Rank Benefits

2) Pain Tolerance: Taijutsu specialists see far more pain than most other professions due to their focus on close combat, as well as the use of their body as their weapon. Through their training many specialists can learn to ignore severe pain from injuries. This allows them the ability to resist most physical tortures, as well as last longer and keep a clearer head in battle.
(Cannot completely ignore injuries more significant than a broken limb. Ignoring Injuries may result in causing more damage, for instance walking on a broken leg could render your leg completely useless.)

2) Subtle Fist: Telegraphing an attack is a fatal mistake to many taijutsu users, as there are many ways to read one's movement. To prevent this, some Taijutsu Specialists perform extra training, learning to remove any unnecessary movements from their attacks, and even telegraph feints to confuse their enemy, making them much harder to predict.
(-1 rank to enemy reaction speed, Traits such as Sharingan can no longer predict the specialist's movements.)

Base Benefits

Professional Sealer: Those of the Sealing Master profession are the only ninja capable of fully mastering the art of seals, able to learn and use any type of seal available, and even design their own.
(Able to learn all seals in the list, and learn custom seals.)

Rank Benefits

Upon reaching the required rank, you may choose one of the benefits labeled under that rank, adding that ability to your character immediately. Choose wisely, as these can change how you utilize your profession and abilities greatly.

Genin Benefits

1) Carver: Some sealing specialists, looking for new ways to utilize seals, take up engraving as an addition to their sealing style. By learning how to engrave seals, the specialist is able to carve seals into almost anything, from a kunai to a simple stick. This art holds the advantage of requiring no ink to utilize, and holds up much better on things such as weapons than normal ink seals.
(Able to utilize carving. Carved seals will cease to work if the carvings are blocked, such as by a seal carved into steel being battered flat.)

2) Tattoo Artist: While some might take up engraving, other seal artists feel it more prudent to keep their seals closer. On their own flesh, in fact. To that end, they learn the art of the tattooist, learning to inject ink into a person's skin with a needle, and draw images, or seals, by that method. While anyone can draw a seal on the surface of the skin, this art holds the benefit of being permanent, short of removing the skin itself, where a simple drawn seal could be washed off quite easily.
(Able to tattoo seals on themselves and others. Tattooing seals takes one full post per ink charge used.)

3) Unconventional Sealing: Some artists use ink, some carve their works into stone and steel, but this artist scoffs at their plainness, their lack of vision. He makes his art, his seals, with the rocks of the earth, shells on the seashore, the stitch of a garment, or even glitter glue! Sure, they don't last, but art is a fleeting thing.
(Able to create seals using arrangements of almost any object. Seals made in this fashion are highly unstable, requiring double the cost to prime, and will fall apart, ceasing to work, after a single use.)

Chuunin Benefits

1) Blood Sealing: Those who have studied the properties of blood and gained an advanced knowledge of it are capable of using the substance with, or instead of, normal ink. Priming seals made with a blood mixture, due to the blood's latent chakra costs half as much, and seals made with blood can be designed to only respond to the owner of that blood.
(Half cost off seal priming (To a minimum of one point), Able to make "Private" seals which can only be activated by the one who's blood was used to create them.)

2) Advanced Sealing Theory: This individual steeps himself in sealing theory, learning all he can about the art and how it works, becoming able to work with much more advanced seals than his peers, and even alter their form without changing their effects, thereby creating "Disguised" seals.
(Able to learn seals of one rank higher without limit. Able to create and identify disguised versions of any seal they are able to craft.)

Jounin Benefits

1) Sealing Hand: The greatest of Sealing Masters are said to be able to create a seal on any surface, merely by brushing it with their hand. While that is not quite true, some are able to create a seal by way of jutsu, and leave it somewhere with a touch of the hand rather than drawing it.
(Able to create seals as jutsu. Doing so requires the price of a C rank ninjutsu, plus the cost of priming, and must still be activated as normal. Removing the seal with the seal removal jutsu will also erase the seal completely.)

2) Jutsu Theory: A skilled sealing master, with experience in all fields of the art, particularly the theory of it, begins to notice common principles between ninjutsu, and fuinjutsu. The two, once you understand the underlying principles, are so closely intertwined that for one who knows the proper methods, they are truly the same thing. Once a sealing master comes to understand this, they are able to study any existing jutsu, even ones they are unable to use, and “Learn” them. Once they have been learned, the master may use the new knowledge to create new seals based on the concepts, or, in the cases of some seals and jutsu, embed these jutsu they cannot use into an array, converted into seal form.
(Learning “Jutsu Theory” adds an extra section to the user's jutsu list, labeled as such. Jutsu in this list cannot be performed, as they are jutsu the user does not have the element, bloodline, or demon to use. “Learning” these jutsu can only be done from a scroll. The only real use of these jutsu is placing them in seals such as the “Jutsu Seal”, which is capable of replicating any jutsu “Programmed” into it. Even when used in this method however, the jutsu will not work unless it is charged by someone with the proper chakra element.)
