But will you love me tomorrow?" It was a mature song with a mature meaning, but that didn't seem to bother one child from singing it. It was stuck in her head, and even though she knew it had a bittersweet undertone to it, she still sang it out as if nothing was wrong with the world. How could there be anything wrong with the world? She had brought several strands of metallic Mardi Gras beads with her and now was making a game out of decorating a tree that was reaching over the seesaw on the playground. She stood on one end of the play yard toy, tossing up one of the strands at the offending tree branch. " Is this a lasting treasure..." She tossed a green strand, which missed the mark completely and fell back into the sand. For a brief moment, the child scampered to retrieve the beads. " ...or just a moment's pleasure?" She scrambled back to the see saw and stood on the same end as before. Once more, she tossed, this time hitting the branch at least, but it didn't hang onto it. " Can I believe the magic of your sighs? Will you still love me tomorrow?" The child was just about to abandon the seesaw again to retrieve the beads, when rather suddenly something else picked it up for her. What that something else was, however, was a completely different question altogether! It looked like it was picking the beads up with what an elephant would call a trunk. In fact, to the child, it felt like it was probably elephant size (though in reality, it missed the mark by quite a bit). " Whatzamahoozits!" she called out in awe more than terror.

The prickling of anxiety was an unmistakable, unshakable feeling for a senshi. Out on patrol, Kallichore erratically swerved this way and that, down one random street after another in an attempt to fool the enemy. If her routes weren't preplanned and didn't follow the same patterns, she would be more difficult to predict. Not that it was helping much as the senshi didn't seem to be making any sort of progress against the forces of Chaos even with smarter tactics. The eternal senshi slowed down to a walk as a means of resting when that prickling on the back of her neck made the hairs stand on end. Youma, and close by. Even if it wasn't much, each youma death was still something to be held against Chaos. Even if their numbers were nigh overwhelming, taking out just a few soldiers every night would eventually add up to something. What Kallichore wasn't planning on as she leaned against her turn and skidded around the corner like a rider on a motorcycle, was that a child would be out so late and on top of that, possibly become a meal for a youma. That was not going to happen, not on Kallichore's watch. Hitting the ground running, the senshi made to leap frog over the back of the elephantine youma and place herself between it and its intended meal. Landing on her feel, Kallichore held out her arm to block the youma's view of the little girl with her sleeve. Looking over her shoulder, the senshi tried to check if the child was unharmed. "Are you okay? Did it hurt you?"

The silvery haired girl stood there blinking at the elephant-thing, not certain what to make out of it. Did the Zoo randomly lose an elephant? She was pretty sure the Zoo was nowhere near this park, and if it was an escaped elephant, it probably wouldn't have made it all the way out here unnoticed. There'd be police cars or SOMETHING trailing the large beastie.
Naively, she began to reach her hand out, prepared to ask "Can I have my beads back please?"
However, she didn't get to ask such a thing. Her hand was still outstretched when suddenly a girl in red and white seemed to jump onto the elephant's face.
"FLABERWAKIES*!!!" she cried out before taking a step back, practically stumbling into the sand after tripping on the seesaw.
Though the child had lived in the city for a while, she had only heard second-hand about the Senshi. It was usually when Mom was talking to Grandma and Grandpa, thinking the topic was not something appropriate for a child to really be a part of. Heck, she didn't even really know what they looked like.
Very honestly, she managed to reply "The elephant took my beads!!!" With an exaggerated motion, she pointed to the string of green metallic beads tangled in the creature's "trunk."
However, she had a question of her own. "How in the world did you do that?" Her fingers that had been pointing to the trunk moved to motion the path which the stranger had just taken to intercept.

Kallichore kept her eyes on the elephant youma, answering over her shoulder. "We'll get your beads back, and I won't let it hurt you." Maybe one day the people of Destiny City would come to trust the senshi, but for now, they saw the senshi as terrorists. Perhaps this child would help change that. "I'm a sailor senshi. We protect the city and I intend to protect you as well..." With a trumpet, the youma started a charge and Kallichore took up a wide stance to take the impact head-on. "Stay back!" Huge hooflike feet aided in the stampede towards the senshi, Kallichore grabbing onto what she could of its head before being pushed backwards in the sand. Senshi were strong, yes, but there was some youma out there that were stronger. Skin-to-glove contact, however, netted better results than Kallichore could have imagined. A swift knee to its head sent it stumbling backwards. The trunk untangled from around the beads, sending them flying towards Mystery's position.

Sure, there was a rampaging elephant-thingy in front of her. However, there were more important things that had to be asked. Her beads flew off to the side, and the child even tumbled into the sand.
No screaming, no terrified expressions upon her face. Instead, there was a thoughtful one upon her face.
"So why are you guys called 'Sailors' anyways? I mean, I've heard of Sailor Senshi... but do you ride on boats? Is it just because you have a collar like how Sailors have? Do you have a Sailor hat to go with your outfit?"
The elephant-monster waved its trunk about in a manner which the child was able to vaguely see out of the edge of her vision, which led to another question.
"....is that an elephant? I don't think I've ever seen an Elephant that looked like that before!"

She's not even scared!
Weird kid...Her questions made Kallichore stop for a moment, considering things she hadn't ever really questioned before. But what was the harm in answering a few questions while the youma stumbled around? If she didn't answer, the senshi was afraid the girl's curiosity would get her into further trouble. "If we have boats, I've never ridden on one," she admitted, frowning slightly. If Sailor Senshi could have vehicles... like a Moon Bike... No, she shook her head. What a ridiculous notion. "I assume it's from our collars but to be perfectly honest with you, I never really sat down and thought about it. Some Sailor Senshi do have hats though." It was at that point the youma righted itself and charged. Kallichore was ready. " Surge of the Maddened!" came a cry and distortion filled the air as the youma ran face-first into it. Suddenly, it could see a multitude of the little girl, a practical legion of Mystery in all shapes and sizes, clouding its vision. "It's not an elephant, it's a monster made to look like an elephant. All they want to do is eat people and cause destruction. You should avoid them whenever you can, okay?"

The girl eventually pushed herself back into a slightly more upright position, only to somewhat squeak and wince a bit as the Elephant-now-labeled-monster charging.
"Are there lots of these Ele-monsters? I'd think these would be on the news if there were a lot... I've never heard of them before! Wouldn't the media be all over a brand new species of animal... even if it is a monster?"
