Hi. I specialize in crocheting. Sure I'm not the BEST. But I always hope to grow(being the best might be boring anyways)
I wanted to say that YouTube had great tutorials.
For patterns there's crochetpatterncentral.com
I believe they have knitting patterns too. The URL is slightly different. :3

She makes AMAZING tutorials that are very simple to follow. :3 Threadbanger also makes a good hat tutorial for beginners. wink

I used to knit quite a bit.
My great aunt and grandmother were teaching my how to crochet, unfortunately both passed away while I was still learning so all I really know how to do anymore is a basic chain stitch.
I've been meaning to try and get back to learning to crochet - there's a pattern out on the web for a crocheted Aayla Secura hat that I'm desperate to have ;o;

I've written a couple crochet patterns, mostly for amigurumi, but for other things too. My mermaid one is my most popular.My amigurumi crochet patterns include crochet sock monkey, dolls with dresses, and bearsBut I have others too, like how to crochet baby clothes, simple crochet bracelets, how to crochet bath loofahs, cell phone cozies, jewelry tote, and some others... I haven't had a lot of time to crochet or write patterns since my second was born in April, but I really love making stuff and writing patterns to share. So if there is anything you'd like a pattern for, you can ask me. I try to keep them pretty simple so even novices can follow them.

I never really made or used patterns before until I started selling the things I was making so I started making patterns so I could make the same things over and over.
