Thamin Brin circled the shadowy woods beneath her, wings looking to the sky above, eyes looking to the ground below. After a few moments she noticed a break in the gnarled and bent branches that formed the canopy. She folded her wings and dived through, flaring her wings only in the last moment before heavy hooves hit the ground to ease the collision. She was not subtle, and her landing echoed through the dark woods. With a soft chuckle she looked at the large prints left in the soft ground, she enjoyed leaving them wherever she went. Then, without another thought, Brin set off in search of any nearby pools of water from which to fish.
Zactura One of the closer pools had already been temporarily claimed by a stallion of much slighter build than the mare that had made her presence known. He had very few intentions of releasing 'his' pond for the time being--after all, it was going to wind up his in the end anyway. Why not hasten it along some and just call it his already? The sound of Brin's landing had earned a quick glance over his shoulder, his tongue darting along the edges of his unnaturaly wide mouth to catch the last few drops of water he'd sipped. That noise could very likely mean something unpleasant, but as it was, Algernon was entirely convinced that whatever it was would flee in fear from his regal appearance if their paths crossed. With a snort and a toss of his head, the stallion resumed his short patrol, cloven hooves leaving faint indents in the shore where he'd trodden.
Thamin Brin tucked her wings as closely as she could to her sides to avoid stray branches scraping her delicate eyes embedded in them. She wove her way through twisted trunks, ducked under 'low' hanging branches, and before long she emerged from the shadows to behold a pond. "Mhmmmm..." she murmured with a toothy grin as she licked her lips. She trailed the banks for a short while, letting the tip of her blades on her tail cut through the still surface, sending ripples across the glassy surface. Instantly though, as a wing eye caught movement across the pond, Brin halted and gazed across. A red and black soquili walked the opposite shore. She knew not his intentions, but he did not seem like he was a water dweller like Typhoid or her daughter - the fish here would most likely be free game. Without further hesitation she continued, her gaze to the waters surface, looking for any movement beneath the surface.
Zactura Oh. Well. When the other had made th--her appearance quite clear, Algernon couldn't help but stare. He could forgive the trespass into his spreading territory in this case; after all, his visitor was clearly of an otherworldly nature. Had his offerings and invocations finally persuaded something to cross over from the other plane? If this fantastic creature's arrival was any indication, yes, they had. He raised an eyebrow, the burgeoning snarl on his face quickly turning to a long, toothy grin as he stood up straight and tall. It wouldn't do to seem lazy or disinterested in the presence of an otherworldly one, would it? "Well, well, well. I wasn't expecting anything like you to show up." he called over the water, cocking an eyebrow at the mare. "What brings you to this little pond of mine, hmmm? I may not have any offerings prepared, but I could gather something." The fact that she might be more focused on the water than on him hadn't occured to Algernon in the slightest--he was the center of his own world, and by his logic, that of everybody else. Why wouldn't she be paying attention?
Thamin A red eye blinked as it trailed the stallion on the opposite shores, and as Brin continued her search she moved her wing so that it's eye did not loose focus of the male. As the male spoke Brin listened - she was quite use to others being alarmed by her appearances so his comment about not expecting something like her took no offense. Though when the male indicated that the pond was his she drew to a halt and actually turned her head to face him. "Hmmm...." She muttered as she gazed intently at him once more with her yellow eyes. And what was this speak of offerings? Had he been expecting someone else? "I was unaware that a pond could belong to anyone other than a water dweller." Brin finally belted across the pool. "I apologize for my trespass though. I was simply seeking a pleasant place to catch my meal."
