Hello fellow Gaians! Here we are with the first ever Guild Pride Week! The H.U.B is delighted to be a part of this wonderful celebration of Guilds.
Guilds are a great way to share community spirit with your fellow Gaians and make friends, they can be silly or serious but more often than not they are very fun. So let's spread the love, the love for guilds.
To celebrate H.U.B is running a creative contest with some really great prizes! We hope lots of you enter and have a lot of fun!

H.U.B is all about unity and community on Gaia so we want to see what your artistic take on that is, we would like to see how you convey this theme through art or poetry!
How to enter:
-Produce some art or write a poem that you feel/think best reflects or captures the spirit of unity, community, peace or friendship on Gaia.
-Either PM me your entry with the subject ' Guild Pride Contest Entry' or post it here in the thread making sure to quote me so I know.
Rules: -You can submit one poem and one art entry per person.
-Poems have to be no more than 2k in word count, try and keep it shortish.
-You can use any poetic format or art medium you wish, the more creative the more likely I am to pick them.
-If there are lot of entries I will select a group to go to a final poll.

She's new here Just arrived from Britain. She holds a kitten in her arms and her hair is in an updo.
She wanders around, looking ever so lost she doesn't know what to do in the frigid freezing frost.
The girl spots some people and she walks up to them, saying "Hi" with a smile on her face and nice dimples full of grace.
They turn to her with hooded eyes and a sneer in their look. The girl backs away Judging a cover by its book.
But they follow after her Taunting her, and being rude to her "Hey, what's with your accent? I wouldn't pay a cent To hear it again."
The girl feels tears spill out from her blue eyes as she tries to run away but they catch her by surprise.
Just as they are about to do something more, what do you know, but more kids come into store.
The thing is, these kids are great. Not only that, but they are eight friendly, kind, and nice kids. The girl looks up and stares into their sparkling eyes as they nod at her once and go up to those guys.
"Stop bullying this girl she did nothing to you. She simply walked right in With poise in her in her shoes. She was kind and open Wanting to make friends but you just turned around and made things begin to bend. So we'd suggest you all to say sorry to this girl. For she deserves it and you didn't make the right call."
The girl stared in wonder at her saviours in smiles and she couldn't help but say, "Hey, can I stay with you a while?"
The eight all turn to her with truth evident in their eyes "Yes, of course!" they all reply.
The ones who had bullied her turned away with their faces in shame as they looked to the girl, realizing their blame.
They apologized to her, and she was stiff to reply but that girl's kind heart felt forgiveness to not deny.
With her help and the eight's, that group soon turned friendly and with each passing date Nothing ended badly.
Friends can come and go as they please Some may even come by to make you weak in the knees but if you are able to try and find the good help them be better, for that is good childhood.
So you see, if you provide kindness and love you will stay true. Just stay good to yourself and others for that is Gaia's virtue.

Gaia is a place for friends to gather together In Forums or Towns, whatever the weather. Come snow and carols, or spooky graveyards, Forum battles with Attackers and Guards. We find each other in talking in various forums, In role plays, art shops, games and chat rooms. Guilds are one way to gather like minds, So there are thousands of guilds of all kinds! It doesn't matter how connections are made, But friendships endure, and so we have stayed In touch, in cahoots, in mischief and fun. Come join us! There's room for everyone!

A warm little flame, Just barely alive, In need of help Or else it might die.
Feed it some tinder, Give it some care, And with a little effort, Its heat can be shared.
This flame is so small, But not easily extinguished; For it will get stronger And will never be finished.
Its warmth warms our hearts, And brings kindness and good cheer; It chases off the sad and lonely feelings, No matter what time of year.
It brings us together As we laugh and chat and sing; In good times and bad, It binds us together as if with a ring.
When we've found where we belong, A family that loves and needs us, The flame's job is done, Moving on is a must.
It floats off with a whisper And a promise to come back If ever we shall need it Or if things get out of wack.
It gets weaker as it travels, Becoming only a spark, But no matter where it goes, It always leaves a mark.
This little flame is nameless And it really needs no thanks Because it burns in all of us And we're the ones who give it strength.
All it really needs to become a fire, Is someone who truly cares, Who's willing to make friends; Make one loner a pair.
So in the end, when it bids us farewell, It's not really leaving, And it never really will.
For as long as we sympathize And make friends with people, The flame burns on brightly inside us And will never grow dull.

So what is 'H.U.B' you may wonder. Well we are a guild dedicated to community, unity and friendship between Gaians. Our name stands for the Hall of United Brethren, a long time ago we used to be known as G.U.N, short for the Gaian United Nations, which we still are but it didn't sound very friendly or peaceful and as a community we decided on our new name.
As a guild we are somewhat unique in how much we rely on member feedback, it shapes the guild in all sorts of ways from what kind of subforums we have to the kinds of contests we run. It all means that we have fun together as a community and that everyone gets somewhere they can feel at home.
It doesn't matter what year you joined, what Gaian Race you are, if you have millions of gold or none at all, you are welcome and valued as an individual part of our brilliant community.

It's been so long since I read a good poem... Hah! Mine is just shameless self advertising! It's hard to find people that can write worth a damn these days... >.>;
