With Vriska as the exception, post-Scratch troll deaths have been reserved for those who haven't been contributing to the perpetuation of reality. Karkat's been doing that the whole time, so it makes no sense for him to be killed off without immediately being resurrected.

I'm afraid to enter that world.
Once you get past the crude narrative, numerous self-references, and silly character interactions, it's actually a very engaging story with a meaningful message. It requires very acute critical thinking skills to put the pieces together, since there is a metric CRAPTON of stuff that is left for the readers to pick up on, as opposed to just being spoon-fed to them.
