"Dimelo partir y ir al la-teli, Dimelo dilalo. Latira malacali, Latira malacali. Mashimela lacali. Maqui enestado malacali, Maqui enestado malacali..." -Viento Del Arena by Gipsy Kings In the heart of the desert lived a nomadic herd of Azrein. Of this herd roamed many family lineages, including the old Al-Alem, The Wise as they are called. The beautifully harsh landscape evolved these Azrein to adapt and in their own way tame the wild sands and open sky they call home.
Within the Herd bore a son, to two Zebroid mates. His coat was a rich tan with a shade or two darker stripes that adorned his body signifying his pure-blooded lineage. Dark mane and tail that is thick, wavy and straight from his mother's side whereas he had silver eyes that bespoke his father's lineage of Al-Alem. They christened, so to speak, him with the name Melek Al-Alem. The elder of the herd blessed him that he rise up to hold their traditions and the wisdom that was bred into them but also learned.
Days turned into years as Melek grew up into a strong stallion, wise beyond his years and...restless. Countless ights, both full of the moon and without the pale faced light facing the North on a sand dune wondering if there was another world beyond his...

Rain by Hans Zimmer from Spirit: Stallion of the Cimmaron It didn't matter which of the two males had them only that the two foals were born healthy; a colt and a filly. Their blankets hidden their future beauty that combined a gyspy Azrein with a powerfully built Zebroid from one tryst on a Valentine's Day gathering at the palace. Of course there was alot of drinking that was involved leading to a blurry night, at least that's what Kev the gypsy Azrein claims, and of course the two bundle of joys that begun to show their troublesome behaviors if only because they were young.
Living among the gypsies and somewhat apart from them, the foals soon grw into their own teaching their gypsy father the meaning of being paternal. Especially when it came to Kev's daughter, Rasha. The beautiful mare was a perfect combination of both parents, having each trait from them; stripes and a similar coat coloring of her Zebroid father and the tribal markings and some coloring of her gypsy father. Rasha was truly exotic in her appearance and in her manners.
Growing up with the gypsy human's, especially with her father's bonded, Kali the future gypsy queen, she learned to dance and the songs of the troupe. Every night she danced to the sensual and passionate beats of the drums, cymbals, flutes, acoustic guitars and violins. Rasha enjoyed being dressed with scarfs lined with coins, hair adornments and allowed the children of the troupe to ride on her back, though she never bonded even with Kali's friend Cam who was eager to have an Azrein of his own.
That aside the mare spent most of her time wandering through the neighboring forests emersing herslef with the nature. Though her favorite place to frolick and sunbathe was in a field of wild flowers...
Of which became the meeting place between two worlds and two Azrein that fate brought together.

"I...I was standing. You were there. Two worlds collided. And They can never tear us apart"-Never Tear Us Apart by INXS The sun shined brightly in the great big blue sky with white fluffy clouds that made one want to sprout wings to fly and hug close to them. Birds flew over head, in and out of the surrounding wall of forests. The wide clearing was thick with sweet grass and vibrate flowers: rich blues, light purples, deep reds, fiery oranges and bright yellows all with delicate scents but oh so strong as a certain beauty danced all over them to the sway of the wind, singing and letting her lithing voice drift.
It drifted far over the wings of the great winds and touched on foreign ears of a stallion who had galloped far and wide following his instincts to travel from his desert kingdom to this life giving earth. Stopping at the tree line after following the sound, Melek flickered his ears forward to take in the voice of an angel.
Yet he did not immediately see where the source of that voice was coming from. Trotting forward, Melek was momentarily distracted by rhe soft sensation of the grass the the fragrances from the flowers. Stepping carefully in place Melek smiled to himself. This was going to be something to tell his herd about when, and if, he returned to them.
The angelic voice reached his ears again taking his attention. Moving forward the desert stallion went up an incline of a small grassy and flower scented hill and went down the decline spotting the most majestic sight ever. The beautiful earth world stopped around him as his breath was caught. There before him dancing and twirling about in a thick bed of red and orange flowers was the most beautiful mare he had ever seen before.
Her two tone mane and tail were wavy or curly or both, with a curvy body for a mare and the most unique patterns of which he reconigzed the distinct stripes on her as Zebroid. Melek was sure of it but he wouldn't know unless he approached her.
But how to do it?
Considering it some he began to move to the mare's rhythm and danced forward beginning to sing his own words since he didn't know the ones she was singing and let his voice; strong and somewhat deep with a light accent that was soothing, reached the mare's ears to approach her...

"You spun the wheel to keep my attention. You danced away if I missed a beat." -Tour De Force by Covenant Thinking herself alone, Rasha enjoyed the song her father Kev loved to sing to her and her brother. No doubt when he sang it was a great spectacle and amusement to her father Isen. The song was full of life and enjoyment that controlled her body in dancing to it. Yet Rasha's singing and dancing paused at the sight and sound of another Azrein. A stallion, of coffee and black coloring with stripes. This male was not from these parts. It was obvious because Kev would wander about the area with his bonded Kali making sure they were not crossing on territories of others as she came from a peaceful gypsy troupe.
Rasha's natural reaction was to run away and call out to anyone within ear shot to fend off the intruder. Only the stranger was not approaching her with malicious intent. If anything he was dancing toward her, to the steps Rasha had moved to and sung in the same rhythm just with different words. It was...endearing.
Shaking herself, Rasha moved to turn away fromthe striped male but he stopped his singing and dancing, his voice reaching her in a bid to stop."Please, do not go sweet one. I did not mean to startle you. I heard a voice, your voice, and I could not simply turn away but follow..." Melek said hoping the blue-eyed mare would turn to look at him.
Indeed Rasha turned to look at the stallion with open curiosity but hidden caution, after all one couldn't be too careful these days especially for a mare all alone. However there was nothing outwardly to indicate that the male was dangerous. Neither in his manners nor his body language. The one thing Rasha believed in was noting all those details when interacting with others. It was something that she learned from the gypsies when they went into markets to buy, sell and trade, and make trading partnerships.
The mare lifted her head up high to speak to this stallion, looking at him like a regal queen of the earth."Well you have found the one that sang. I'm sorry if I have derailed you from your path."But really she wasn't sorry. This was her territory for her alone so no one could really tell her to be quiet, to sit still to anything that went against her freedom and her sanctuary. Which of course meant she was bold and stood straighter to this male."I think perhaps you should leave. This place belongs to me and my father wouldn't like that you have entered here..." A sudden smirk came across her face. Perhaps the exotic bloom wanted to cause some foolish trouble for the stranger.

"And don't ask me why I am here. Something deeper brought me. Than a need to remember." Beloved by VNV Nation Melek saw the smirk and chuckled to himself. Perhaps this girl thought he would scare easily by the underlying threat. By rights he should leave her be as it was rude and very invasive. This mare knew absolutely nothing about him especially when he was foreign to this fertile world that she looked fitting and....completely exotic. Yes she was like a rare bloom that is sought for and only when you left expect it would it reveal itself in the most unexpected of ways. For Melek did not expect to find himself in the company of a beautiful mare such as her. Especially lured by her voice."I would leave however I would wish to know the name of the angel whose voice brought me here." Melek said sincerely and with warmth, like that of the sun shining over the flowers and them right now.
Rasha was surprised by the request. Sure the mare has had her fair share of encountering males who have complimented her on her looks and voices, even the human males have done so including Cam but only because he was fond of her in a sincere way. Yet this male....He was a stranger for heaven's sake! By rights she should be demanding his name and telling him to leave because....because....Was it just her or were those silver eyes the most prettiest she's ever seen on a male?
They were also the windows to one's soul and in them...she saw the sun. Warm and cozy. Sincereity. Respect and obviously there was alot of that respect because not once had this male made a single move toward her... Usually males would move up against her boldly with or without her consent. Taking that into great consideration because it had sparked a curious interest she obliged in giving her name. "I am Rasha, daughter of Kev and Isen Drummond, sister to Tierlach and you sir are still here without a name or without offering a purpose to your presence here...."

Just when you think she's yours. She's flown to other shores." - Lips Like Sugar by Echo and the Bunnymen Rasha... Her name was Rasha and it was the perfect name. It fit and felt the name whisper through his mind like a caress. It seemed to fit well in his mind too. Bowing his head with apology at the loss of his manners he shifted more comfortably and bowed further with grace."A thousand apologies. I am Melek Al-Alem. My purpose....I've yet to have a true purpose but perhaps if you will permit this theory, your voice has lead me to a potential path." He murmured and looked up at her with a gentle smile."Do not be alarmed by it and do not deny it, I saw the flicker of it in your eyes. I come from the desert south of here from a nomadic herd that travels through the deserts. We are peaceful and good, I swear it on my soul... Melek kept on then bowed his head.
Rasha indeed was alarmed by those words. Plenty of males have said similar things but it wasn't the words only that sent that sensation through her but rather...rather it sent something else, like an instinctual pull towards him, to believe those words that sounded more than just flattering but something real. Or potentially real. Which was absurd. Insane. Completely ridiculous. Tossing her head she began to prance away from Melek. His name. Melek....Melek Al-Alem It sent a sort of thrill at how exotic that name was and she knew what was and was not exotic. After all she was the definition of it, her father said so!"Be that as it may Melek, you have intruded and I simply cannot allow to be in your presence. My family will be worried if I do not return to them soon....They wouldn't want their only daughter to be ravished or seduced rather by a rogue from the desert.Melek watched her and shook his head before allowing a smile touch his face again. "If that were so you would have left as soon as I came to you Rasha. Not wait for my name or purpose.

"Don't try to pretend. It's my feeling we'll win in the end. I won't harm you or touch your defenses. Vanity and security." - Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds A part of Rasha wanted to turn around and tell him off. The other simply wanted to be childish and stick her tongue out, which would be real adult like of her to do. Walking away with her head held high like a regal queen, Rasha came up to the treeline then entered fully, covered in the protection of the thick trunks and strong branches with their vividly green leaves. The mare's intent was to go straight to her brother and fathers to tell them about this stranger in the hopes of running him off until...
The mare stopped. Flickering her ears back and forth at the sudden sound of a song from a voice. A male's voice. A male's voice coming behind her. It was his voice. Melek. Trying hard to ignore it Rasha moved forward one step...two step..three...four and couldn't go any further. How could she? That voice was wonderful and.....It called to her on a different level than any male voice.
Looking over her shoulder she crept silently back to the tree line to see Melek from behind a tree watching him yet she couldn't go any further. Whoever this stallion was he was having the oddest effect on her and.....Since she was here she wanted to get a better observation of this stallion if anything to find something that is flawed in him so that it can shut down her curiosity.
Little did Rasha know that the longer she looked at him, the more fate began to bind the threads of their life together little by little with each passing second that would bring them together in someway that was powerful.
Rasha watched the singing stallion letting his voice caress over her that sent goosebumps over her. The voice made her heart beat faster with feeling that was being pulled by invisible strings, by his invisible strings that she couldn't shake off.
Melek...

"Hum tumko nigahon mein iss tarah chupalenge, Hum tumko nigahon mein iss tarah chupalenge, Tum chahe bacho jitna, hum tumko churalenge hoo" -Hum Tumko Nigahon Mein by Udit Narayan and Shreya Ghoshal from Garv (2004) Though Rasha was seemingly gone from Melek, the stallion sighed deeply almost as if a sudden cloud came over him blocking out the sun that he was Rasha. Why? Better yet how? Even less vague how wasn't this female whom he only spoke to for a few mere minutes could suddenly have such an impact on him? Melek couldn't think in all the wisdom from his father and father's before him or even the wisdom from his mother because she had infinite wisdom to learn from....didn't produce an answer.
Even still from all the females he had encounter in his old herd to his journey here Rasha's image was still fresh and permenant in his mind's eye. The way her mane and tail curled, how they shined with life, her stripes and those eyes of a vivid blue...Gods how could he allow such a female go so easily?!
Turning around and taking only a few steps Melek paused at the sight of Rasha right there coming out towards him. No. It couldn't be here. It must be the image in his eyes playing tricks on him. Yet mind tricks weren't this real and vivid nor casting shadows. Moving forward to test this phantom they stopped face to face.
Rasha didn't know what possessed her to move forward but here she was muzzle to muzzle with Melek. They were in the same breathing space feeling that magnetic pull they no doubt never felt before with anyone else. Until now. Right here....In this peaceful and beautiful setting far away from interfering and distracting influences."I have you imprinted in my mind's eye, Rasha. I feel the fates at work.....Come away with me and I will show you beautiful things forever." Melek pressed his lips lightly against her cheek. "Will you come away with me?"Rasha felt her heart beat wildly in her chest then closed her eyes at the gentle kiss on her cheek, sighing softly. Indeed fate was working it's magic and there was nothing in this world that was going to stop her from defying the laws of nature. Even the gypsies held close to their laws of fate and superstition... Who was she to defy the ways of her troupe?"Yes." Was all she said.

"Whenever I'm alone with you You make me feel like I am home again Whenever I'm alone with you You make me feel like I am whole again" -Lovesong by The Cure It was a good thing that Rasha's disappearances were a common occurrence from her troupe. Otherwise there would have been a search party led by a furious Kev and some of the gypsies. As it were none of that happened in the next few days, just about three, passed morning to night in a smooth cycle.
It was in those three days that Melek and Rasha spent exploring the green, fertile world together. Just as they explored each others mind and soul to learn of their personalities, their morals and values. Rasha being a strong mare had made it very clear to Melek that at no time would she allow seduction. She knew what she wanted and that was she was not to be toyed with by anyone especially one so handsome as Melek.
Luckily for her Melek was a good stallion who knew better. You know as in his mother would punish him if Melek did anything absolutely disrespectful toa female. Especially to one so beautiful and strong as Rasha. If anything he had a growing respect for this mare and something else was growing. Something much deeper was growing and it was edging towards that L-word that was never to be taken lightly.
No.
He couldn't be feeling such a thing so soon. Yes Melek had heard of love at first sight but could never understand nor believe that such a thing could possibly exist. Though Rasha did believe in love at first sight. It was that L-word that was growing deep in her golden heart. It was growing deep from her soul.
~~~~
They were resting in a secluded area with a waterfall surrounded by the smooth rock face that it was came from with thick trees. The pool that the waterfall emptied into was clear with small fresh water fishes swimming about. The shore they rested on was on a thick bed of sweet grass listening to the sounds of nature that were around them. It was absolutely incredible to be here.
It was like the quiet moments spent in the oasis that Melek would frequent in his youth only this was better because in this peace and quiet, in this moment where it was their souls that got to know each other in a spiritual way, the desert Sheik could share it with someone special. That special someone was Rasha.
Closing his eyes, he nuzzled Rasha's neck while she lightly dozed off with her head resting against his chest. It was moment's like these that all his thoughts went straight to offering matehood. At the very least their love could grow over time as Melek would never find this with another female.
It was like the stallion felt alive being with Rasha. Wait...
He would have to wait a little longer to court Rasha, to see in what feeling she had. It would be wise to make sure that they were mutual in that area before he took a great risk that could be life changing. For now he would let her sleep in the noon sun, shady slightly by the trees over head and the waterfall singing to them.
