Today was just... one of those days, apparently. First there had been the trouble sleeping. And finally giving up on it very early in the morning. At those 'godawful' type of hours. Then she'd managed to stub every toe possible trying to find a book or something to do at that hour. Before she gave up on that too and just collapsed on her bed to think about things.
Which is when Vashi had decided to start tossing in his own opinions of her thoughts. And bickering had ensued. Then silence. More bickering.
Fini wondered if it was possible to pretend this day had not begun at all.
But of course, that was impossible. So, finally having enough light outside, she threw on some simple 'off duty' clothes to go find something to eat. Or someone else to bug. Vashi was currently giving her the silent treatment. For now.
Which was how she wound up attempting to make a good cup of coffee, and having more issues than was necessary.
:: Really? Precious, I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be a simple task. Not a world war. ::
"Shut your face." She muttered, ready to throw the coffee pot out a window in the next few seconds.

Ian was on a mission.
Not the almost get your head eaten by a giant black man eating spider on a ghost ship with creepy ghost waiters that just creep you out and then the ship drowns and you almost die kind of mission, but, in fact, a much more pleasant mission, one that he hoped would result in very good success.
He needed coffee.
There was obviously none in his dorm room ("What?" Ian had indignantly asked Naomi as he looked around his room. "No complimentary coffee maker with Styrofoam cups and tacky designs? What kind of hotel is this?" Which had prompted Naomi to reply, with irritation, that this was not a hotel and that he really needed to quit acting silly), which meant that there should have been some in the cafeteria.
He hoped. He couldn't get through living here if there was no coffee.
After a bit of investigation, he managed to find said coffee - except it was still in the little plastic bag it came in, and the empty pot was currently being held by an unfamiliar young woman with pale hair who looked irritated.
"Greetings!" said Ian cheerfully, stepping towards her. "Are you, perhaps, making coffee?"

Oh god, her head was hurting now. The lack of sleep need caffeine now, kind of headache. And the stupid coffee maker was giving her so much grief why was this so difficult?! And to top that off, Vashi was just cackling away in her mind and not helping, damn you!
:: I... you just... :: He couldn't even get a full sentence out.
Where was a conveniently located halloween freak when you needed one to bash their skull in?
Vashi just snorted at her. And then there was some overly cheerful dude appearing. And Fini gave up her utter failure at making coffee. She glanced at the new guy, giving him quite the look. "Does it look like I am?" She grumbled, shooting the machine a scowl. "Damn thing just doesn't see eye to eye with me."
:: Such the charmer~ ::
:: Shut your face! ::
Fini folded her arms and took a step back, eying him. "Are you new?" She asked curiously. "I don't think I've seen you around before. But you're more then welcome to fight with the 'maker there. Maybe it will behave for you."
"My name's Fini, by the way." She added, after a little prompting from Vashi.
