Arenji stumbled around the pride aimlessly. She didn't have a single thing in mind to do. She was bored out of her mind, yet couldn't bring herself to find anything fun to take her mind off of the boredom. The pale blue lioness' eyes glittered against the bright daylight sun and she yawned in boredom. "Gotta be something around here I can do.."She grumbled. For a moment she debated going to find her sisters .. surely they would have something to say or do! But then she remembered that many of them were gone from the lands. Out on their quests, looking to start their lives anew and bring new blood to the lands.d She on the other hand was still stuck here, refusing to leave. She didn't really know why she hadn't left yet. That part was definitely still a mystery to her, but she woudl go one day. She had to, it was her duty after all.

Navalin had not been in the pride for very long, but she was already finding herself quite content here. This was just so wonderful being around only females. There were NO stupid males in the pride unless one counted cubs. Cubs were not so bad, they were at least tolerable males for now. She was glad to see that here no mother gave their sons the attention that rightfully belonged to their daughters. These boys were not like the green lioness' own brothers whom managed to con her mother into giving them all the attention. Navalin needed to stop ranting in her head about males. She had left her brothers far behind and need to start thinking about the idea of working for her pride and having strong daughters some day. No male could bother her here. She needed to accept that in her heart and find contentment with her life. It was hard, though, it really was. The green lioness walked up on another as she spoke and blinked. "I am sure there is plenty for you to do. Are you bored?" Maybe some company was what she needed herself to take her mind off the idea of pesky males.

Arenji nearly jumped out of her skin at the new voice behind her. It was completely unexpected and scared the hell out of her. Clutching her heart tightly, she tried to relax her breathing enough to turn around and face her new company. But the scare had been a doozy, and she just couldn't find it in her to calm her breathing. "Y-Yeah .... or I was. Now i'm just scared out of my wits!"Arenji laughed easily, finally lowering her paw from her chest and inspecting the new female with curiosity. "Hey ... I don' think i've ever seen you before ... are you new here?"Her eyes squinted a bit as she feared for what the lioness might say. What if she wasn't new? Would that offend her? It probably would! She shouldn't have said it in the first place. Well what's done was done. She thought, gulping down her fears.

Navalin put out a paw onto the other female's shoulder, trying to give her a bit of comfort and calm her down some. "I apologize I forget how easy I am to miss when walking through green grass. I did not cause you any harm, did I?" It really would not do for the new scout to cause problems in the pride especially when she was a fairly new member! At least the other female seemed to realize that the green lioness was new. That had to help her case a bit, she was certain. It still did not excuse her actions, though. "I am newer yes... only been here long enough to get my bearings and become a scout. It is no excuse for my sneaking up on you, though. I really am sorry about that." Navalin gave the other lioness a bow of her head. "Please forgive my thoughtlessness." She would have to do better in the future and keep in mind that her coloration could blend in a little easier than some others were probably accustomed to. Yes she was taller than the grass by quite a bit, but she still had a very similar coloration to it.

The comforting paw did wonders to slow Arenji's heartbeat, and soon her breathing was even at a controllable rate too! "Oh? No, no, no! No harm done at all, just a bit of a scare!" She smiled over her shoulder to the female, trying to reassure her of her actions. But the lioness didn't seem to be having any of it. Having had enough of looking at the lioness from the side, she fully turned her body to face her. That's when she fully began to understand just what the lioness had meant about blending in. She definitely did a good job of doing so, but that couldn't be held against her at all! "I thought so! I like to talk a lot, so I tend to know most of the lionesses in the pride ... but i'd never seen you before!" Now smiling from ear to ear she continued her conversation. "There will be no forgiving done here today." Shaking her head in rejection, Arenji allowed a pause to fill the air. "Because there is nothing for you to apologize for! Simply bending in with the grass is not your own fault! Neither is my ability to be scared so easily. Its not like you can control those types of things
....
Can you?"

Navalin chuckled and gave the other lioness a sly look. "I can control just how easy I am to notice, and try to sneak up on you... but no this occurrence was not for trying. I just naturally walk quietly and slink along... too much time trying to go unnoticed by horrible, mother stealing brothers." That sounded a bit more bitter than the green lioness had really intended, but at the same time she did not regret how bad it sounded. Her twin brothers were HORRIBLE and one should always keep that in mind when speaking of them. Males in general were best kept in that context. Stupid, horrible males were only good for siring daughters. "Well, one that is easily scared is usually easily excitable... and you know what they say about easily excitable lionesses." Navalin was amused by the other female's chatty nature and all around sweet disposition. It was charming, and she seemed like she would be nice to have around. Okay so Navalin might have been hitting on the other lioness a little bit, but that was fine. They were both adults and hopefully the other lioness did not take it the wrong way. If she did, the green lioness would just have to apologize for being so forward.

Arenji laughed a bit at the female's first words. So she had some wit about her, that was good. Most female's around here were pretty stiff and sincere. The pride could definitely use some more light-hearted lionesses. "Well, forgive me for assuming you could not control such a thing!" Arenji giggled lightly at the female, but her laugh soon tapered as she reeled into her next comment. Ah, another female with strong anti-male views. She was used to them, the pride was full of them. She however was not one of them. So far, no male had ever given her reason to be hateful or fearful of them. She hoped she would retain that outlook, if only because she didn't want to look down on her Dad or future Sons. "Oh ... well I guess that makes sense." Arenji paused a moment, before realizing her mistake. "They sneaky part! Not the brothers part, though I am sorry to hear about your troubles. But at least you won't have to worry about them here!" Arenji tried to offer her smile once again, but she wasn't quite sure the female was going to go for it. But then, the female seemed to be quite interested in her smile. As soon she was chatting with her as though nothing at all had happened. Tilting her head to the side Arenji tried to comprehend the other's words. "No .. what do they say? And who are they?!"

Navalin took a moment to stretch her paws lazily. She gave the other lioness a coy grin before speaking again. "I came here for that very reason, no pesky males to worry about unless I want to deal with them... and they say excitable lionesses are the best den partners." The green lioness paused for effect, letting her words sink in fully before she continued. The fact that she was hitting on the other should be quite obvious by now, but one never knew how the other party would take it. It could be that this lioness just was not interested in a little flirting, but unless she was asked to stop, the lavender eyed lioness would continue to have her fun. "It does not really matter who they are, just that they have experience in such things and pass it onward to those like ourselves." Navalin sat and curled her tail around her paws with a smug look at the other lioness. "And what of you, Ice Eyes? Were you born here in the paradise of no males? Or do you come from outside the pride as I do?" The other seemed quite willing to talk, so it would seem logical that they could have a conversation and Navalin could learn something about another in the pride. Having a pretty lioness to look at during the conversation did not hurt any either.

It took a while for the green lioness' words to sink in, but when they did Arenji's face became really hot and she backed away purely out of embarrassment. "Oh.
....
OH!"
Is that what they say?"Clearing her throat she tried to make herself sound more attractive and open to the other's flirting, though her feet were still quite wobbly. No one had ever shown interest in her before, and she'd taken it as a sign that she wasn't to be mated. But here stood this lovely lioness, who seemed more than interested. Arenji's eyes shot wide open at the comment to her eyes. Icy eyes? She'd never heard of that name before. But she kinda liked it. "I was born here, to both of my Mothers. But my Father is an outside male. He protects the borders, to ensure our safety here." Nodding her head with satisfaction she continued. "I'm Arenji by the way, Daughter of Chadra'Enid and Drakma."

Navalin should not have been amused at Arenji's reaction, but there was no helping it. This lioness was proving to be a bit shy and perhaps sheltered even. While it was charming and quaint to see, Nav had trouble seeing such as a result of being raised in the Amazons. It was a warrior pride, and warriors tended to be a bit crude in their jokes in her experience. Arenji was all the more of a gem to Nav for it, though. She just HAD to make friends with this female and get to know her. There was too much fascinating about her, the sweet and quiet nature was just so... different. "Your father is useful enough to stick around? That is a rare thing indeed for any male let alone one that has sired cubs." Navalin had seen many males that seemed useful turn into idiots after getting a female into a den. They certainly did not stick around after siring cubs, so really they were only useful for the act of begetting cubs in her mind. The idea of a male sticking around to ensure the safety of females was mindboggling to the green lioness. She just could not wrap her brain around the concept. "I am Navalin."

Arenji smiled happily at her new friend, she looked almost dopey looking, with her eyes closed into a sheepish smile. "Uh huh! My Papa helped my Mothers to have us, and then stuck around to see us raised properly." Nodding her head at her own happy thoughts, she continued on. "But after we were grown, he told us he would be staying. He said he had developed a love for the land, and many of the lionesses that call it home. He promised he would always be here to protect us, from the far more unsavory lions. He disappears from time to time, but he always returns. One day I expect he will bring us back more siblings, and some new blood. But so far, he hasn't." Arenji paused just long enough to hear the female reveal her name. "NAVALIN? I LOVE THAT NAME!" She bellowed happily, not bothering to hide her giggle as she stepped closer to the lioness. "And you know what they say about lioness' named Navalin don't you?"

Navalin gave the other lioness a cheeky grin as she answered. "That we are corrupters of innocent young lionesses named Arenji." She winks at the other lioness and gave some thought to what Arenji said about her father. He sounded like he might not be such a bad male. She would have to judge for herself some day. A worthwhile male was a rare thing indeed, and she might just want to keep him in mind for something, who knew. That would be for later thought, though. For now, she had an attractive lioness in front of her to steal her attention. "Perhaps you would like to share a hunt, and a meal with me, Arenji?" Navalin was not worried about being forward at the moment, not with as well as the other had been taking it so far. At the least she should get a friend out of this, but who knew, she might get more. The green lioness would just secretly hope for more as she tried and see where it got her in the end. Sometimes flirting only resulted in friends, but one never knew unless they tried. Either way this played out, she was going to have a very big change to her life in the pride.

Arenji tried to hold back the purr that she felt building in her throat. She couldn't help it, there was something to Navalin that she liked. Something that she wanted to see more of, and the idea that this lioness might be thinking the same about her? Well, it was driving her a little crazy - but totally in a good way. "Well I don't know about innocent lioness but I think you might be on to something." Slowly pacing around Navalin, she chuckled before going on. "Seems you know a lot about the things they say. You must have gotten around a bit before finding your way here." The statement wasn't really a question, or anything really. She supposed she'd meant it as a joke, but then it hadn't come out all that funny sounding. Shrugging it off, her ears perked at Navalin's suggestion, and her tail began to flick excitedly behind her. "I think i'd like that a lot actually!" She tried not to squeal in excitement as the words sank in. Yes she was definitely interested in something more than friends here. Right? Well regardless, a nice hunt and a meal with Navalin sounded like a great idea!

Navalin chuckled at the statement about getting around. "I have never had a complaint from any pretty lionesses, that is for sure." She winks at the other lioness. "Really I have not gotten around that much, but I have learned a lot. Let's go for that hunt and then I can show you some of the things I know." Oh yes, this was looking very promising for the green lioness and she hoped it stayed that way. This might be the beginning of something very special for the lioness. She certainly loved giving attention to this lioness and the attention coming back from her was delightful. Navalin lead the way off to hunt with a grin. Her mind was racing with possibilities for what this could mean. She was hoping very much that she might have found the one, but there were still nibblings of doubt. The green lioness squished the doubts back to a corner for now and decided she was just going to make the best of what the gods had given her and work hard on making it into what she wanted. There was a definite spring to her step as her paws carried her forward, leading the way to a hunt with this new friend.
