▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬ ▬ DIVISION xxSPECIALTIES ▬ Fιrѕт Dιvιѕιon「Hyвrιd Coalιтιon」
The First Division is the leading Division. They are known to be the most well-rounded fighters out of all the Squads, proficient in Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hohō and Kidō. Members of this Division are known to receive extensive training, and are role models for all other divisions. The Captain of this Division, also known as the Head Captain or the Captain Commander, leads the rest of the Gotei Thirteen. The Division runs the affairs of the Gotei and the Soul Society, occasionally working together with Central 46 and the Soul King. Other than administrative duties, the Commander helps pick other Captains of the Gotei, as well as issuing orders to the rest of the Divisions. In the absence of Central 46, the Commander's word serves as law.
Their insignia is the Chrysanthemum, signifying "truth and innocence". Second Dιvιѕιon「Specιal Opѕ and Reconnaιѕѕance」
Integrated with the Onmitsukidō, members of this Division are also members of the stealth force. They carry out secret assassination and infiltration missions, and are the first on the battlefield to reconnaissance the area. Some of the fastest known Shinigami hail from this squad, and all members are required to be proficient in Hakuda, tracking, stealth, and assassination. This Division handles all types of intel, from politics to world affairs. Undertaking many missions, from criminals to bounties, nothing slips past the Second Division. They also control the Nest of Maggots, a temporary containment unit for dangerous persons, until the Sixth Division takes care of them.
Their insignia is the Pasque Flower, signifying "seek nothing". Tнιrd Dιvιѕιon「Tacтιcal Regιмenт」
Much like the Second Division that works behind the scenes, the Third Division are the masterminds behind the real fighting force. Valued as the most intelligent battle tacticians, they are tasked with the organization of the Gotei and the layout of missions. When campaigns are launched outside of the Soul Society, they work closely with the Twelfth Division, using their communication devices as go-betweens for orders. During war time, they will also work with the Second Division to gather intel of their opponents, as well as providing sufficient offensive maneuvers and defensive precautions during Captain Meetings. They are the only Division authorized to do patrols in the Human World. When members of this Division battle, they much prefer to outwit their opponent, even going as far as to use unorthodox tactics to win a match.
Their insignia is the Marigold, signifying "despair". Foυrтн Dιvιѕιon「Medιcal and Janιтorιal」
The Fourth Division is the medical and supply division. They are responsible for both treating the injured and doing most of the manual labor, such as cleaning the Seireitei. In addition, they do most of the repair work for destroyed property, both in and out of Soul Society. Central 46 funds all repairs during missions, or when wanton Shinigami go out of control. Members of the Fourth Division are the only people who possess spiritual powers that are used to tend to wounds and provide relief. Members use their special powers and the benefits of their daily training to act with precision and speed to aid injured comrades. They administer emergency first aid to injured division members, transport them to the Fourth Division, and take care of funerals for deceased Shinigami.
Their insignia is the Bellflower, signifying "those who grieve are loved". Fιғтн Dιvιѕιon「Spιrιтυalιѕтѕ」
Shinigami in the Fifth Division have a pristine control over their Reiryoku. They are best known for their synchronicity with their Zanpakutō, impressive skill with Kidō, and utility of Reiryoku. Members of the Division don't necessarily have the most Reiryoku out of all the Shinigami. In fact, very few members in this Division have Vast Spiritual Pressure, as the more Reiryoku you have, the harder it is to control. They focus more on quality over quantity, and are masters at utilizing a small amount of Reiryoku for large feats and incredible stamina. Some of the most skilled members are able to cast incantationless Kidō at a rapid fire rate, using the least amount of Reiryoku while still having the Kidō at full power. As for their Zanpakutō, members achieve Shikai and Bankai quicker than most other Shinigami. Fifth Division members are the only Shinigami capable of spiritually manifesting their Zanpakutō Spirit in the physical world.
Their insignia is the Lily of the Valley, signifying "sacrifice, danger, pure love, humility, and sweetness". Sιхтн Dιvιѕιon「Seιreιтeι Gυard」
Members of the Sixth Division are charged with the task of enforcing the law, ensuring the rules of Seireitei are followed, apprehending criminals, and working with the Royal Family. A strict squad, like the First Division, they also act as role models for other Shinigami. The Division acts like a high court regiment, essentially mimicking a small Central 46 inside the Gotei Thirteen. They regulate order, set up trials, and deliver sentencing. In minor crimes, they try the offenders in court and administer punishments. In the event of a major crime, any and all executions are sent to Central 46 for approval before execution is administered. The only three figureheads that can override the authority of the Sixth Division Captain is the Captain Commander, Central 46, or the Soul King. Other than their Law Enforcing duties, they also protect the Soul King and the Royal Family.
Their insignia is the Camellia, signifying "noble reason". Sevenтн Dιvιѕιon「Haĸυda Brιgade」
As their specialty suggests, the Seventh Division are masters at the art of Hakuda. Many of its members dismiss use of their Zanpakutō, preferring to physically engage their opponents. Unlike the Second Division, all members strive to achieve excellency with hand-to-hand combat, rather than learn it half-heartedly. When using Zanpakutō, many of the Seventh Division have assist type releases. They tend to either grant physical enhancements to the wielder, or take the shape of blunt force weapons, such as tonfas, staves, knuckles, you name it. The Division is primarily a second line offensive force, or a front line defense force. Members will often follow the Carnage Battalion in a charge, or work together with the Counterstrike Force to compliment their abilities.
Their insignia is the Iris, signifying "courage". Eιgнтн Dιvιѕιon「Ballιѕтa Sqυadron」
The Ballista Squadron is the other half of the Carnage Battalion, using ranged tactics and assaults to lay waste to their foes. Their Zanpakutō are usually of the ranged or Kidō type, wielding far ranging destructive skills, bringing death from a distance like a well trained sniper or missile. Members specialize in area of effect skills and tactics, aiming to cause large amounts of destruction that can be compared to artillery cannons of older eras. Their main goal is reducing enemy forces, regulating crowd control, and wearing down the foe, allowing the offensive melee forces to finish them off.
Their insignia is the Strelitzia, signifying "everything is obtained". Nιnтн Dιvιѕιon「Carnage Baттalιon」
The main force of the Gotei, the Carnage Battalion is a chaotic siege engine, boasting immense physical strength and unrivaled offense. Their one and only job is to completely pulverize the enemy forces, either destroying them completely, scattering their forces, or causing a massive loss in morale. In full force, the Carnage Battalion can put out an astronomically amount of damage that is comparable to taking down the walls of a castle. Members have some of the most unrivaled offensive skills and fatally crippling blows.
Their insignia is the White Poppy, signifying "oblivion". Tenтн Dιvιѕιon「Twιn Bladeѕ」
Members of the Tenth Division are notable for one feature. This Division is mainly composed of Shinigami that wield twin and/or dual type Zanpakutō. Shinigami are efficiently trained in the art of twin Zanjutsu and dual type Zanjutsu, and are quite fearsome in battle, known to be as renowned as the Eleventh Division. Their Zanpakutō are also known to wield dual elements and properties, making them that much more dangerous, unpredictable, and flexible in battle. Shinigami also are trained in combined abilities and have the some of the best teamwork skills out of all the other Divisions. Their skill with Zanjutsu is only second to that of the Eleventh Division, and their teamwork skills are only second to that of the Thirteenth Division.
Their insignia is the Daffodil, signifying "mystery and egoism". Elevenтн Dιvιѕιon「Zanjυтѕυ Dυelιѕтѕ」
The Eleventh Division is the Seireitei's pride in sword fighting. They range from one on one specialists to one against many. Members are well equipped to deal with any kind of fight, and are trained to observe the skills and tactics of their opponents. Their skills vary as widely as their personalities, and the Zanpakutō are just as wide spread. Most Shinigami of this Division wield melee based Zanpakutō, though disparities do occur. While not having as much physical prowess or offensive ability as the Carnage Battalion, they put skill before strength. Shinigami of this Division tend to specialize in thousands of forms of swordplay. Many members learn many branches of swordplay, mastering none, and creating their own unique style. Unlike the other tight knit squads, most members value independence, and prefer to fight alone. The only other Divisions that even come close in skill with their Zanjutsu are the Tenth Division and the First Division.
Their insignia is the Yarrow, signifying "fight". Twelғтн Dιvιѕιon「Reѕearcн and Developмenт」
The Twelfth Division develops new technology and spiritual tools. They have been directly linked to the Shinigami Research and Development Institute for over 100 years. As such, technological and scientific research has become the full measure of what the division involves itself in primarily. Members are tasked with research and collection of data and samples as well as developing new tools for the Shinigami. Sometimes, though rarely, they work with the Fourth Division, exchanging biological samples and medical information.
Their insignia is the Thistle, signifying "vengeance, strictness, and independence". Tнιrтeenтн Dιvιѕιon「Coυnтerѕтrιĸe Force」
The Thirteen Division is a back-up force. They specialize in both overrunning opponents with offensive power, as well as countering your standard foe. Members usually have great leadership qualities, and excellent teamwork compatibility with other Divisions. They are commonly seen attacking foes too close to the front lines or main barracks, and wield various Zanpakutō, sometimes working in specific pairs. Whenever the main offensive force is being overrun, the Division charges in as back-up and assist. Along with their offensive skills, they also have equally skilled defensive tactics. Members are trained to fight while carrying dead weight, or while protecting their allies. They also work as a relief team, allowing Fourth Division members to carry out medical maneuvers while the enemy is distracted, or holding down the opponent while relieving the main force and switching out troops.
Their insignia is the Snowdrop, signifying "hope".
