Kat and Ryan would get a text saying something like.

Text from Allan
^_^ Ninjas come better in groups of two! Teamwork and friendship! Believe it!

Actually, it was more like, that was exactly what the text was like, and three more texts with weird dancing emote faces, that really did nothing, and then finally a text detailing that they should start their ninja training regiment by finding Allan (sensei) in the training fields.

Ryan closed the phone with a snap.

Allan? Ninjas? Somehow he got the feeling that this was going to be one of those more bizarre missions. If you could call it that and knowing the sun lead, it would be. But what could he do? It wasn't like he could ignore the message, and all of the annoying dancing emotes that came after it, and hope it went away. Not when it came from someone as high a rank as division lead.

...

Or could he?

The idea was very tempting. However, in the end, the moon trainee decided that it wasn't worth it and obediently arrived on the field as requested. Though he didn't really get the whole ninja part figured out yet.

Kat's lips thinned into a line as she read over the text from Allan. Surely, what he was saying, wouldn't actually involve dressing up as ninjas, right? Just what was it that Allan even had in mind, and if ninjas work better in groups of two, who was the other person to be? It was hard to tell, when looking at the weird emotes sent. Thankfully, a more helpful text arrived shortly after, but not exactly great news.

"Ninja training!?

He had got to be kidding!

Wait - no.. it was Allan, he was probably completely serious.

Hanging her head in embarrassment, she arrived at the designated area, awaiting further instructions.

It was hard not to spot Allan in the training fields. If the large craters of empty space and infinite destruction did not give it away, his tall presence combined with the burst of red hair was another tell-tall sign. The third of course was the small training regiment or crowd he usually created, which was currently flocking together in some sort of pow-wow, each of them dressed in questionable what looked like sweater-material jumpsuits and headbands with silver plating.

"You made it, ninja-tachi!" The Sun lead beamed at the newest group of recruits, and it was to be noted while some Hunters in part of the Allan group had a sort of resigned look to them, a lot of them just looked extremely disgruntled. He clapped his hands together once, making a fist. "Before you join our ninja clan, you must prove yourselves worthy of the ninja name! Are you ready to take your ninja exams to prove yourselves as true ninjas of this clan?" A pause. "Believe it!"

The disgruntled looks of the people in Allan's group didn't go unnoticed. She was almost certain that she made that face herself when having to suffer under Allan's missions and tests. Why was she even here? She didn't want to become a ninja! She was much too loud to be one anyways. Stealth wasn't really her thing. "Uhh.. what?" Now she had to prove herself to become something she didn't want to be!? But how exactly could she say no to her own division leader? Granted, he was a lot more understanding than the other division leads - even though she was sure he was.. a little crazy - but still she felt as though she should at least make an attempt to prove herself.

"Yes sir.." Practically mumbling, the hunter pursed her lips together, folding her arms as she stared at moon hunter standing beside her. If she was going to suffer through this, than she was damn sure going to make sure he would as well.

Not hard indeed.

The moment he stepped onto field Ryan spotted Kat, whom he gave an awkward wave to. Yes he hadn't forgotten that she blasted him unconscious with her damn charged attack. Of course, he supposed it was a little his fault for teasing her. She probably took it as him provoking her--which he wasn't, but even still. Either way, not a second later, he caught sight of the bizarre group. A bizarre group who was clad in some bizarre black getup, dancing around ( or he thought it was dancing anyways ) none other than the sun lead, looking very much like the bunch of weirdos they were dressed as. Though in their defense, while some looked overly thrilled to be a part of this little get together, some were clearly there against their own will. Poor saps.

"Pass!" Ryan held his hand up, flat out rejecting the challenge of becoming a ninja, and getting a ninja name, or whatever.

"Anyway," continued the Sun lead, most likely missing the sarcasm and disgruntlement entirely, "This is a secret ninja task. All ninjas store their information in secret ninja scroll archives. You, as Genin ninja, must prove yourselves by obtaining the secret ninja scroll within the secret ninja archives!"

He just stood there for a few seconds like this, beaming at the two trainees. Sparkles might have emitted from his general presence. In fact, it was getting extremely uncomfortably awkward to the point where Kat and Ryan were probably wondering what exactly he wanted again and how exactly-

-"BELIEVE IT! Super high school level ninja escort shove of love!"-

- WHAM-

- And then just like that, the two found themselves falling into a proverbial rabbit hole, and landing rather heavily at the other end. It was a pretty quiet neighbourhood, mostly secluded. In front of them were a few nondescript small retail buildings, a bakery, a butcher store, a small cafe, and then a larger building that was rather old and delicate, two stories high that read "STATE LIBRARY".

Ryan should have been surprised when their lack of enthusiasm was completely dismissed and the sun lead went on. But he wasn't. In all honesty he kind of expected it. When Allan got these ideas in his head, he was a one track mind and it never mattered who or what it involved.

"But I don't want to be a geni--" He started again, only to be cut off while the sun lead continued on.

Honestly. What the hell was a ninja scroll even supposed to be?

"Shove of lo--?"

Oh WAIT!

Ryan realized a second too late for what was about to happen. In fact, by the time he realized it, it had already happened and he and Kat both had fallen through some form of portal and into a somewhat quiet--if not vacant neighbourhood. Not only that, but they happened to land directly in front of a shabby looking building that read 'State Library.'

Wait... He was kidding right?

"Is he expecting us to STEAL from a library?"

It was quite obvious by now that Allan wasn't paying any attention to their 'enthusiasm' on the whole idea of being ninjas or taking part in his weird anime like schemes, so Kat had pretty much given up entirely. If you can't beat them, you might as well suffer in silence. Though, if Ryan thought he was going to escape this, he had another thing coming. Grabbing hold of the moon hunter's coat, she kept a tight grip, making sure he didn't try and pull a fast one like running away.

Frozen in her spot, Kat cringed. How was it that Allan was able to sparkle so? In any case, whatever he said was like when Mark tried to speak Star Wars talk to her, it went right over her head. Not that she had much time to think about it anyways, what with their sudden drop down - where ever they were going?

Practically falling on her face, the sun hunter groaned, pushing herself up off the ground. Where the hell were they? Some town? What were they doing again? She was distracted by Allan's natural sparkle..

"What?" She spoke, giving Ryan a dumfound look, before searching for said library.

Kat and Ryan's cell phone would start buzzing:

TEXT FROM ALLAN

CLUE 1: A NINJA IS QUIET... LIKE A SHADOW! Walk into the library but beware the... OTHER SHADOWS!!! Inside the library lies... the SECRET SCROLLS!!!! (~o ^_^)~o o~(^_^o~) (~o ^_^)~o

The door suddenly opened, a middle-aged lady wearing a yellow dress with bright magenta flower print, holding several dusty books under her arm, with the top one reading HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS, turning to wedge a peg into the door, leaving the library door fully open. She paused, and then stared placidly at Kat and Ryan. "You kids going to come in? The library closes in thirty minutes, you know."

Checking her phone, she found a new text from Allan, about ninjas. Okay, be quiet and walk into the library. Okay.. but.. secret scrolls? There were secret scrolls in there? So that is why they had to come here? Okay, should be easy enough to go in and grab them, right? It was just a library after all.

Nearly dropping her phone, she stopped to stare at the woman in the doorway. "Uhh.." Wait - what? The library was closing in thirty minutes!? They were on a time limit! Okay, they could find these scrolls in thirty minutes, right? It couldn't be that hard, right? "Er - Yes! Sorry, come on Ryan." She said, gesturing for him to follow her in.

Ryan squinted at the message.

"What no picture?" He was being sarcastic of course, but honestly, he had no clue as to what they were supposed to be looking for. Or if they even HAD what Allan was after in the first place. Hell, judging by the looks of this place, he doubted they were even up to date with regular books.

The woman's placid look was returned with an irritable one.

Thirty minutes? That was plenty of time. If they knew what they were looking for.

"I don't suppose 'shadows' can ask where the scrolls are, can they?" He whispered to Kat, following her up the steps and towards the wide open door. It would certainly cut their search time in half. But from what Allan described, this mission was all about stealth and secrecy... and shadows. Silent shadows.

The lady, who turned out to be the librarian, went back to her desk, filing the books on her table. A banner above her table said SILENCE IS GOLDEN. There were three tables in the center of the dusty, two-floored library, the second floor simply a small staircase that lead to shelves of books hugging the walls along either side. Below it were more shelves of books, old, giving everything a faint, dusty sort of feel. Two people were seated on the tables, both of them reading. One of them coughed loudly, the librarian turned to look at them, sharply, but then returned to filing her books.

Basically, there were a lot of books.

Another sign below, on the librarian's desk said RING TO ASK FOR HELP. There was a tiny bell next to her.

She surely hoped shadows could ask where to find them. Kat had only been in a few libraries her whole life! She had no patience for books what so ever. Glancing over at the other two people in the room, Kat dusted off her coat and headed for the main desk. Taking note of the sign, Kat rung the bell. "Uhh excuse me? You don't by chance do you have any scrolls here, do you?" Surely if Allan had sent them here, there must be!

'Silence is golden.'

Yeah right he thought. Though seeing that sign here and now was like Allan was standing right here in this building, reminding them of how they were supposed to be like ninjas and well... be quiet like and stay in the shadows--or something.

He really had no clue.

"Kat are you really sure we can just--" Too late. Ryan hung back and waited. It was too late now, they might as well get a yes or no out of it. But really. He doubted a shabby little library like this had something like scrolls. If it was anything like the one he grew up near, it probably had next to nothing, but books that dated back to years before he was born. Oh and the occasional worn out educational video tape.
