So she was all grown up. Well, not all grown up. However she was old enough that she was allowed to go further without anyone going with her. It was amazing and so much fun. However most places she went with Tahigwa. Today was different however. Tahigwa kept talking about Yaholo's other sister, and she was so curious to met her. She knew what the girl's name was, and she knew what she looked like, well kind of. It was time for her to go and find this Pahana.
She packed up a bag and started on her way to Tale. She knew that the settlement was called Yera, and that she liked pink. And that she was very girly. How hard could that be?
Sooner or she got to Yera. It was a good thing she told Briella that she would be gone over night, or else she would've had an angry mother in Tale looking for her. The idea made her laugh and scared her at the same time. Once in Yera she started to ask around if anyone knew a girl named Pahana. So far she had no luck, sure people knew who the girl was but not where she was. Ilyra was almost to the point where she was ready to give up and go back home.

Pahana was easy to pick out from a crowd, if you had lived in Tale your whole life, mostly because of how much of a ditz she was. Of course, she made up for her clumsiness with her optimism and fabulous "leadership" skills, and no one really cared to yell at her for breaking something. Unless it was valuable, she never got punished, at least as a Youngling. As a Prentice, she would have to learn how to use her charm to get through sticky situations.
It was a typical day for Pahana, filled with trip ups and slips, spills and thrills, and the like, and as usual, nothing had phased her infinitely sunshiny disposition. She twirled along the path, kicking heaps of dirt up into the air as she did, and hummed a song that most might find unbearable. As she busied herself with her twirling and whirling, she forgot to keep her eyes open for any sort of obstacle that could be in her dance path, and smacked right into Ilyra.
"Ah! I'm sorry, I didn't see you there!" She squealed, leaping back up onto her feet. Then, she gasped, grabbing Ilyra's shoulders. "Wow, you look like Tahigwa!" She cooed, giving her another once over. "Only with a lot less color! You must be really really special!"

Well hello there. Thought Ilyra as a girl bumped into her. Really Ilyra should have been paying more attention, after all she had heard the girl coming, she just didn't think the girl would have ran into her. Didn't Earthlings look where they were going?
However as soon as the girl started talking Ilyra smiled brightly. This girl knew Tahigwa! Looking her over once again she decided that she had found the girl she was looking for. She had on pink, that was a check, and she also had ran into Ilyra proving that she was ditzy. Yes, this girl had to be Pahana.
"That's because Tahigwa is one of my sisters! And I don't know about special, but I am lighter then the others." she said with a shurg. Some people thought it was special, but she more thought of it as an issue then anything. Sure other then having to wear a thin coat of lotion over skin when she was in the sun was annoying, but other then that all was well. She hadn't found anyone that gave her too much trouble.
"Matter of fact, Tahigwa is my best friend! And I'm pretty sure your her sister, Pahana? I've been looking for you. My name's Ilyra." she introduced herself.

Tahigwa was this girl's sister? Pahana tilted her head for a moment, blinked, and pondered. Tahi had never mentioned having another sister! Come to think of it, Yaholo had never told her that either! How could he leave out such an important detail?! Now she had two sisters! She grinned, took Ilyra's hands and giggled.
"You bet! I'm Pahana!" She exclaimed, laughing. "I can't believe that my brother left out that I had another sister! You look Tahigwa's age, too! Are you twins?"
Clearly, Pahana didn't understand the social structure of the Alkidike tribe.

Twins? Pahana's sister? No, no, no. She had no Earthling sister. Clearly no one had told Pahana about how the Alkidikes worked. She wondered for a second if she would even explain it to the girl, but then decided against it. She didn't mind if Pahana thought of her as a sister!
"Nope, I'm a little younger then her." she said nodding. It was true, Ilyra was younger then Tahigwa's age, but not by much. "I've heard lots of good things about you! That's why I wanted to come and see you!"

Pahana squealed at Ilyra's answer. A little sister! Well, somewhat, but still, LITTLE SISTER! She latched onto the other girl and snuggled up to her. Ooo! They were going to be best friends just like she and Tahigwa were!
"I'm so excited to meet you, Ilyra!" She exclaimed, practically bouncing in place. Then, she paused, a bit of a blank look crossing her features before she continued on with a grin. "Have you ever been out to Tale before? I could show you around as best I can! I fall down a lot, so I may not be the best guide but I can totally show you all the coolest places in Yera!"

Ilyra laughed. This girl was so excited, and to be honest it was infectious. She could see similarities in Tahigwa and Pahana that most might have missed, but as Tahigwa's best friend she was outside.
"Me too! And no I've never been in Tale, this is my first big adventure out here!" she said happily. When Pahana offered to take her on a little tour she nodded happily. "Well maybe you can hold on to my arm? that way you won't fall down?" she suggest, glad to be able to help her newest 'sister'.

Yay! This was Ilyra's first time in Tale! That meant that Pahana could show her around and no one could tell her otherwise! For once, SHE was the guide showing the new girl around! The concept made her so giddy!
"Then I'll show you everything about Yera, which is where you are right now!" She exclaimed, latching onto Ilyra's arm. "Do you want to go to the marketplace first or the weapon shop or the pottery shop or do you want to climb trees?"
She could have gone on listing places, but felt it wad best to stop at the fourth suggestion.

Yera? Oh well she figured it was a good idea to know where she was. As Pahana suggested places that she could show Ilyra she thought curiously. "Um, maybe the market place first? But climbing trees is fun also! Whichever you like best." she agreed.
Although Ilyra had planned on finding Pahana, she didn't know what to do now that she found Pahana. Though the suggestions that Pahana had were good! Exploring was fun, and since she had never been to Yera just about anything they did was like exploring!

Pahana's eyes glimmered with excitement. The marketplace was a great place to start, all the new people met up there to trade, chat, and communicate. It was a wonderful social spot! She tugged Ilyra forward and through the center of the village.
"To the marketplace, then!" She exclaimed. "There's all sorts of things you can find there, like dyes, jewelry, and the craziest people you've ever seen!"

Ilyra laughed. Craziest people? As long as the crazy people didn't try to attack her or anything than she would be fine. She was sure that she could protect herself, but that would kind of ruin the whole trip.
"I love jewelry, maybe we can get something for Tahi!?" she suggested as she looked around. She was getting some strange looks, but she was use to that. Even back home she still got strange looks from time to time. "Or maybe something pretty for her hair?"

"A gift for Tahigwa?" Pahana asked, tilting her head to the side. Yeah! Why not? She nodded, pulling Ilyra towards the booths and stages set up in the very heart of the village. There were dancers practicing, some who waved towards Pahana as she walked by. "I usually practice with them, but I'd rather show you around!" She explained, moving over to a fruit vendor's booth.
"Would you like some fruit? My treat!" She asked.

Ilyra nodded. Tahigwa was her bestest friend, and she doubted that her friend would even believe that she went all the way to Tale alone unless she brought her proof! "Yes, maybe a necklace? Or even just a pretty hair barrette or ribbon?" she said as she looked at the booths. Although there were many interesting things nothing stood out to her. When Pahana explained that the people that were waving were her friends Ilyra nodded. "That's right! I forgot she told me that you were a dancer!" she beamed. "That seems like hard work." all the memorizing and praticing, she didn't envy Pahana.
When Pahana offered her some fruit she nodded eagerly. "Yes please."

A necklace? Pahana's eyes shimmered at the suggestion, her mouth slowly moving her cheeks upwards and into an expression along the borderlines of intrigued and excited. A necklace was a very fancy idea, one that her father often thought about when thinking up gifts for her mother... Could it be that Ilyra and Tahigwa were more than friends?
"I know where we can get some shinies like that!" She chirped, smirking. "There's a collector in the trader's corner who brings beautiful things back from all over the world, I'm sure he'd have something that just SCREAMS Tahigwa!"
She hopped towards the fruit vendor, a young man who seemed excited to see her, and quickly twirled back with a large bag of fruit.
"Minal always has the best of the best, nothing less!" She giggled, handing Ilyra a small yellow fruit. "This is my favorite, but you might find it a little sour! Give it a try!"
