Warmer weather was near, and things were going to get interesting. This was their first real year as a pride. He felt proud of his working, and things were coming together smoothly. The only thing he had to worry about now was avalanches. Being next to a mountain was probably rather dangerous sometimes, but it seemed to fair pretty well. Nothing too horrible had happened since he'd been here. The worse thing was a blue lion ended up getting himself stuck under a frozen log.

He looked to Natintrapa as they stood watch over the pride. "It's time to announce winter is over." Of course, their winter consists of Fall, winter, and spring. As it's counted on how the snow falls. Winter here is glorious and very wanted. The 3 months of winter's End wasn't always the best of times. "So it begins."

The snow had stopped snowing for a week, and he didn't see any signs of it starting up again. He peered up into the sky. Tomorrow would be the day of celebration, even if it wasn't completely happy. No matter. Everyone will get together and enough eachother's company for a little bit, then do their own things as long as it wasn't work.

Natintrapa nodded at him and stood there. She agreed that Winter's End was here. She smiled softly. "And so it starts." She said as she watched about. Not many lions were out this day. Tomorrow they would announce it in the caves, where everyone will be in the morning. That way everyone knew what day it was. Winter's end didn't only bring avalanches, but it made it easier to spot this area for enemies. Of course, they were still protected, or blessed.

"Everything will go smoothly, My love" she assured him. She knew things were going to work out okay. Heck, who knows there might be more who end up finding this place making the pride better. She looked down to her little companion to make sure she was there. She had grown quite attached to that little fluff ball.

Miri was close to the Queen's legs. She didn't go anywhere without her, and made sure they were always close. If she left, Miri followed, and rarely did Miri leave the area that she was in. If she knew it was safe, Miri would venture on her own for a couple minutes, sometimes longer. "So, does it mean it's going to be warmer?"

Miri didn't like the warmth, the cold was where she grew up, and it was where she wanted to stay. Her fur was thick, and able to handle the cold quite well. She couldn't, however, handle warmth too well. She frowned. "It'll still be snowy, right?" She asked thinking that perhaps this "Winter's end" was gonna have her hiding the whole time.

Urza was glad Natintrapa had found a companion. Now he just needed to find one. As hard as that was to be. He knew many hares, but not one of them had decided to pair with him yet. He didn't take this personally, however. He knew many of them didn't think they were worthy enough. Yet he always found one hare or another to accompany him around. He looked down to Miri and shrugged. "I don't think it'll get warm in the sense that most would know the word."

He paused for a moment before nodding at the thought. "Snow will always be around, we just won't be getting any from the sky." It was an understanding that Urza had with someone very important to the pride. They couldn't have winter all the time, so they had to settle for this. "Just keep Natintrapa safe fro harm." He chuckled. "Avalanche season is to be starting soon." He said as he looked up at the land before him. He would disappear back into the caves soon. He had some things to do before tomorrow, and time was wasting.

However, he did like to spend as much time as he could with his Queen, and that was what he was trying to do. "Today is quite lovely." He added finally as he looked back to his love. She was quite stunning in the light.

"Well be fine." She said mostly to herself, but Natintrapa was looking at Miri. "I don't think we'll see very many avalanches this year." Maybe one at most. this was the first "Summer", so how bad could it be? She didn't want to think about it yet, but she knew that she had to. She had to think of plans to make things happen fast in case someone gets lost or buried in the snow. "We'll be ready for anything." She chuckled and patted her hare on the head.

She knew time was limited today with her and her King, but that was the price to pay when ruling the land. Once things settled down, she knew they'd have more time to spend, and more things to do together. She turned her attention back to him. "Yes, yes it is!" She smiled. "Perhaps we should go for a walk before you go back to your duties?"

Miri liked the idea of a walk, but she said nothing. She nodded at what they had said, but wasn't completely assured by Natintrapa's words. She would be cautious until she knew exactly how things were going to be. It was what would keep her safe, and the Queen. She hopped on Natintrapa's back and smiled, finally wanting to share some words.

"If we do go for a walk, I'm staying up here." She said with a nod. "My feet are exhausted from all these "Walks"" She wasn't sure why they had to walk so much, but she never really understood leadership, or any of that other stuff. She was just there to for protection. Her own, and the Yeti Queen.

Urza nodded. It was best idea he had all morning. "Lead the way, My Queen' He said with a bow to her. All he could thing of was the future of his pride, and how things were going to fair during these few months. It worried him, yet he knew this would happen. He waited for her to move, then followed her.

After her was it? She nodded and lead the way. She wondered how life was going to be in the next 3 months, but soon she would know. Soon, everyone would know. She hoped no one was to leave after it. She can only hope that things go as smoothly as she felt it was going to. She sighed and took the lead of their walk. Miri was on her back and probably going to drift off to sleep.

"Walking isn't all that bad, Miri!" She said with a nod. "When you're a bit older you'll understand." She was quite a young hare, which made her wonder even more why she had decided to stick with her. Other than what the hare had told her, of course. She knew Miri was in trouble, and was determined not to let anything happen to the little hare.

Her eyes went from infront of her to the lion next to her, she smiled. She knew by just looking at him, things would be okay. Even if disaster happened, he'd be the one there savings those who needed it. Natintrapa would be right next to him, helping. She'd never leave his side, no matter what happened, and who was trying to stop it.

Miri snorted at the thought. Like she'd ever enjoy walking. Well, as much walking as they had done. It was a pain in her feet. She was just glad she had a back to sit on when she needed it. Miri curled up comfortably and watched the land as they moved. It was a silent walk, no one was talking. With that, she decided it was time for a good nap. Nothing was better than a nap to make you feel good later. The idea alone brought a smile to her face.

Tomorrow, she knew no one would be working which to her meant that she didn't have to walk, and could probably sleep in if Natitrapa let her. Oh! Celebrations were the best. She wished more happened during the warmer times, but she knew that was when most of the pride work the hardest. She wasn't looking forward to it, but that was the price she was to pay. She didn't fully like her new arrangement, but it was better than being lion food. Plus, these guys weren't too bad, at least she didn't think so.

She yawned and put her head down upon the lionesses back. She had to stop thinking about the past, and look towards the future. That was the only thing that was going to keep things smooth. She wanted so bad to forget the past, but it was harder than she thought it would be. One step at a time, one step. With that, she closed her eyes.
