IC
The place known as Tale is a hot, dry place...when the rains comes it is a blessing and the people of Tale were known to reap the benifits of these rare down pours. Food was always hard to come by, and the people of Tale knew how hard it could be, compared to the rich forests of Jahaur the dry plains offered a meager existance for both humanoid and beast alike. So when brigands began pillaging and ransacking food stores for the people of Tale, rumors spread like wild fire, and even Vollerei who was not from the area would hear of these attacks. The bandits were shifters bent on taking back the land! They were Alkidikes getting revenge on the people for soiling the earth! They were demons bend on destroying their lively hood. Each rumor had a different 'villian' but the one thing that remained the same was the story they went with it. They sweep down in the dead of night, setting fires to homes and destroying whatever else they held preccious. Food stores were broken in to, any animals that were kept as livestock stolen. Like ghosts they would be gone the next day, the only traces being the destruction from the night before. All signs pointed that the pillagers were not from the area...and headed back to the forest of Jahaur.

Vollerei had been hearing some rumors of late. Usually she kept to the edge of the jungle where she knew she could hunt, but as she got used to her home-made spear, she'd been venturing further and further into Tale. At first she avoid most people, she had only really entered a village once, with Tau, and she wasn't sure she was willing to do so alone. Especially not with the nervous scent to the air. Zweil also sensed it, he was nervous and refused to be left alone while Vollerei hunted. As the weeks passed, the local hunters and Earthlings got used to her presence and started talking while she was around. At first she didn't pay too much to the rumors; after all, demons and Alkidikes getting revenge? Ha! The only Alkidikes that came this far were ones who wanted to explore! Why would any Alkidike leave their jungle to come to this dry hot land? But then she started hearing trends in the words, and eventually approached one of the hunters she'd run into several times before. He'd been kind enough to show her some techniques to use with her spear after she'd helped him hunt down a large beast. He'd managed to tell her some things, and none of them made her happy.
Food thieves! Someone was stealing food! This was not to be tolerated! If these people were worried about starving, she'd never get them to feed and or teach her how to cook their foods! Plus Vollerei disapproved of food thieves. If you wanted to eat, you worked for it! Stealing from others was wrong. Thanking the Earthling hunter, she left and went to a watering hole to prepare for her coming trek. She would do something about these thieves!
Following the rumors and trails of destruction, it was a week before Vollerei ended up back at the border of Jahaur. Her disgust at the thieves had only grown in the time she'd been hunting them. They destroyed people's lively hoods and took valuable food sources away from people trying to live in this hard land! Why would people who, from all the rumors and trails, lived in the rich and lush jungle steal from the hot and dried up land of Tale? Disgusting and cruel thieves. But now she would be in her element, she could hunt them down so much easier in the jungles, their days were numbered!

The humid forest of Jahaur weighs down on those who pass through it, and today it seemed even worse than normal. The branches dipped low as if the heat had physical weight to it. At first glance there was no evidence that the rumors had lead Vollerei to the right place, but upon closer inspection though some of the lower branches were broken, the forest floor looked disturbed fairly recently. Scratch marks reviled to be many claw marks and paw prints, mixed in were some boot prints. How long ago they had been made was still questionable, but all evidence pointed that the brigands had moved deeper into the forest.

Vollerei felt weighed down by something. The air in the Jungle was tense and quieter than usual. Zweil didn't like it the humid made his feathers fluff up even more and caused him to be cranky. But he was silent and stayed still in the bag that Vollerei carried him about in. Maybe what ever was causing the forest t be quiet and tense was effecting him too. No matter, Vollerei thought, at least he'll stay quiet and I should be able to stalk these food thieves down easier!
She found no traces in the canopy of anything passing by recently, so she descended to the ground and began to search there, keeping a wary eye out for any predators. She soon spotted some scuff marks and some broken branches. The tracks were a mix of animal and boots, most likely the bandits, she'd found her quarry! She grinned and began to silently slip from shadow to shadow, following the tracks.

As Vollerei tracked, the forest became denser, the tracks were forced to come closer together until there was no doubt that these were marks left by the brigands that the alkidike sought out. These villains apparently held little regard for the forest around them, as branches were hacked off roughly by what one could only assume axes or swords.
A growl and a snap of teeth came from ahead of Vollerei and if she got close enough she would see what looked like a pack of Radaku tied to the base of a very thick tree. They wore strange looking devices on their snouts, most likely muzzles to prevent them from biting their handlers. Several strange looking saddles were on a few of them, whilst the rest were bare back. All in all there looked to be at least ten of the creatures...all ranging in color.
They were no longer carrying any other sort of equipment or plunder, but evidence of someone having been around recently revealed itself as the radaku were fighting amongst themselves over scraps of meat that was left in a pile. The muzzles would allow for them to open their mouths just enough for panting, or grabbing small bits of meat to eat.

Volerei folowed the tracks further into the forest and snorted with disgust at the trail they had left. What type of idiot raids a place then doesn't even bother to cover their tracks?! They're leaving a trail a blind person who's never been in a jungle before could follow! She came upon some radaku tied up and with some saddles on them. Hmm, can I steal on of them? She thought to herself? Looking over her shoulder at Zweil who'd fallen asleep on the way over. Nah... too much effort to feed myself and him....
She climbed up a nearby tree until she came to a deep hollow. Placing the bag and Zweil there, she covered it with a large leaf and left all of the food with him. That should keep him safe and quiet till I get back, she thought.
She then watched the radaku for a while, fingering her small stone knife. If she cut them free, would they be able to hunt for themselves? Or would she need to cut off those muzzles first? Cut the muzzles off, she decided. That way the owners will have a difficult time finding or catching them a gain.
She jumped from her tree to the next and kept on jumping till she came to the tree the Radaku where tied too. Shimming down the tree to a large branch an arms legnth above the ropes, she peeled off one of the ropes pulled it up hard to bring the Rdaku's muzzle within range.

Needless to say the radaku were all rather startled to have one of their companions who was in mid snarl suddenly have its head turned and dragged several feet forward. They all paused, having been too busy fighting amongst themselves to have noticed the alkidikes arrival. Some of the radaku started to growl, the one that Vollerei was pulling on especially.
It tried to stop itself from being dragged forward by planting its feet into the ground and stiffening it's legs. They were a strange creature but obviously the surprise gesture of the girl had made them all leery. The rest watched in a moody silence, as they all saw the knife. They were uncertain, an intelligent creature as themselves knew what the knife was and what it was used for.
She would have to work quickly though, even if the bandits were stupid in not covering their trail it either meant they didn't fear people discovering them, or..it was a trap. Either way with the radaku's sudden silence someone may come to investigate soon.

Vollerei quickly cut the muzzle off and thrust the growling Radaku away. She reached for another leash, hoping to get more freed before any of their owners noticed the silence.
If anyone did come, maybe the Radaku would attack it... or she would just have to cut the ropes tying them to the tree and hope the animals got the muzzles off eventually before they starved.

The radaku were not a stupid species. In fact, after the first one was released from its bindings, the others stopped with their fighting and quickly lined up. They were so eager to be freed from their slavery that they began to push and shove their way forward eager to get within reach of the girl. Once free, the radaku seemed overjoyed, snapping and jumping about, some even rushing to eat the meat they once had to carefully slip into their jaws. Now relishing it in full, they only paused when a sound reached their ears. "What the....? How did you mutts get free?"
The voice... belonging to a man, was surprised and even a bit intimidated as several of the beasts turned their heads at once to look at the man who had come into this scenario. Wearing a cutlass at his side, the man - who's appearance betrayed him being from the Leaf tribe - was reaching for his weapon and had not yet spotted Vollerei. [Vollerei may choose to fight this man or run/sneak away. If you choose to fight you may not control the radaku or the npc]

Vollerei heard the voice and quickly hid further up the tree. To attack or not? She thought for a bit and grinned. Her thoughts circling on how to deal with him.
I should let the Radaku deal with him... though if he cames near enough I could jump him from above. Maybe I should kill him now. Then I don't have to worry about anyone coming up from behind while I track his foot prints to where ever he came from....
Nodding to herself, she settled onto her branch, half hidden by leaves and waited for him to approach her location or chase after the Radaku.

The radaku had been rejoicing of sorts at their sudden and new freedom, some went straight to the food while a few others had already melted into the surrounding forest gloom. The majority that stayed however were paying attention to the man who was coming in their direction. Low growls emitted from first the largest of them, the one who was obviously alpha of this group. More growling joined in, and soon it was obvious that the creatures were intent on bringing this man down.
The man who had come onto the scene knew he was in trouble, he had not yet spotted Vollerei as his focus was entirely on the pack of creatures that were now advancing on him. It was then he did something foolish, turning to run away from them was like a silent signal to attack. The pack of radaku surging forward, the leader leaping and tackling the man to the ground.
His screams would quickly alert anyone else who happened to nearby that something was wrong. Though those particular screams were cut short abruptly, though the snarls of the radaku could still be heard. They didn't stop to eat the body, as humanoids were not on their list regular diet. As a team though they left the body to then flee into the forest.
Voices called out, the dead mans scream had not gone unnoticed, but there were sudden cries of alarm coming from the north. Something was happening...it seemed that they were under attack?

Vollerei shook her head at the earthling. You never turned your back on a predator! Fool. Her head jerked around and she clung to her branch as she heard shouts to the north. Strange... or not. Perhaps others are hunting this group and they had found them? She grinned, well, no matter, she still had to go finish this for herself! And now she knew that earthlings, Leaf tribe in fact, were raiding other leaf tribes and it wasn't her people. Which was a good thing, she wanted to be able to travel through Tale and that would be difficult if Alkidikes were the raiders....
Bounding from tree to tree, Vollerei traveled quickly towards the shouts, keeping a wary eye out for any traps or guards.

Vollerie's hunch would prove true, the closer she would get the louder the sounds of battle came from the forest below her. When it seemed it was still far enough away to be safe, suddenly the battle was all around her.
Shouts came from above and below, cries of pain, grunts issued as they tried to fiend off the surprise attack. The brigands were in the midst of chaos, scattered and trying to regroup, they were fighting other alkidikes some positioned in the tree's shooting down men and women with their arrows, other amazons were fighting with spears while a few used swords.
The only thing that was constant was that the women were pushing the brigands back though there were grossly out numbered. A shout as a alkidike woman who seemed to be leading the charge telling everyone to take up arms and to push these trespassers back.
[Vollerie has stumbled upon the heat of battle. Spare weapons are being held in the tree's some littered on the ground from fallen sisters. Vollerie can choose to pick up a weapon and join in the fight or wait for further instructions. You can write as much or little from this point on to further or conclude the battle.]

Vollerei came upon a scene of battle, her own people were the ones fighting the bandits! That's gonna make this easier, she thought to herself. But how to join in? She had only her small hunting knife. Looking about she spotted a fallen spear at the base of a nearby tree. She smiled. A real spear, certain to be better than the one she'd made a few weeks ago to help her in her hunts! Leaping from branch to branch, she quickly scampered to the tree nearest the spear and dropped to the ground to grab it. Hefting the spear in her hands she looked about and saw her sisters were mostly in the trees while she was the only one on the ground. Should she go join them up there, or stay down here and help from the ground?

It was true there were a number of her sisters up in the trees, but it was due to the many that were on the forest floor fighting further into the forest. The chaos that was ensuing was full of giant women, all her sisters were fighting the brigands, who were a mixture of ages and races including a vast majority of shifters, along with leaf earthlings, wind tribe members and even an ice earthling or two. It was hard to tell for sure their numbers with all of the clanging and clashing of weapons.
The numbers seemed evenly matched and as Vollerei joined in the fight, officially taking up the spear, it seemed that it didn't go unnoticed. A man was coming up from behind her, brandishing a short sword that had seen better days.
"Another one 'eh?" He was tall but unforgettable, for the most part because of the fact that he was aiming his sword for her throat.
[Vollerei must fight her way to the center of the brawl. Once there the leader of Vollerei's sisters will take command of the fight. Vollerei is allowed to fight as many or few brigands as she sees fit.]
