So found out that Alex Proyas is going to be directing a movie called GODS OF EGYPT. I'm kinda excited to see an Egyptian myth themed movie in the works but then I fear we're going to have what I refer to as the Loki-effect. They already announced that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is going to be Horus (from the sounds of the plot the Heru, sa Aset Horus).

Thoughts? Comments? Inane chatter about AE myth in movies?

If enough research is put into it, it may turn out well. But the hype of Hollywood may turn it around... Perhaps I will stay cautiously optimistic for this one.

That does sound awesome!! Hopefully they do it right.

It's sort of sad that there is a lack of historically based mythology movies lately in general. There's such a huge wealth of literature that can be drawn from, it's just sort of nuts that they don't use it.

I was always sort of sad that they never made Wilbur Smith's River God into a movie. I mean it's not actually about any of the Gods specifically, but great story.
