Yes, the gallant and dashing egregiouslyEloquent takes on the 365 Day Challenge. Will he make it? Probably not... But it's worth a shot!

On a more serious note, I will post any trigger warnings below the title of any story that requires some. Since this is Gaia, it won't be for gore or the nasty, but it could be for mental illness or self-harm. For those of you less-squeamish folks, read on! Others, read the title before you dive in.

Spring.

Why can't spring last forever?

These thoughts rang through Amy's mind as she lay in the tall, soft grass of Leon's back yard. There was nothing she enjoyed more than this perfect season.

"What are you thinking about?"

The voice interrupted Amy's musings. She glanced over to Leon, sitting beside her, braiding her hair. The two had been inseparable since they met, spending every spare moment with each other. They were best friends. It broke Amy's heart. She had fallen for him one beautiful spring day. They were twelve, and Leon picked her flowers and made her sweet, sweet lemonade. The flowers were swept away by the wind and the lemonade made her mouth sticky, but Amy could never forget the way he made her feel when he smiled and said, "These are for you."

Ever since that day, she swore up and down that the next spring, she would find a way to tell him she loved him. Next spring, she would show him how much she cared. But next spring bled into summer, which turned to fall, then winter, and before she knew it, spring had come and gone. This went on for far too long. They were seventeen, now, and there was no way she would let this go on for any longer. The new page in the story of their relationship was coming today. She rose, looked Leon in the eye, and kissed him. It was a short, chaste peck, but it was a beginning.

"Wouldn't you like to know?"
