Natintrapa made her rounds today, but alone. It seemed her new friend decided not to show today. She wasn't too surprised. The lioness did have her own family to attend to. They had gotten along quite well, and she was beginning to miss her new friend now. No matter, a queen couldn't drop her duty just because someone didn't show up one day. She smiled, took a deep breath, and continued. It had stopped snowing for quite some time, and soon the "End of Winter" celebration would commence.
She didn't quite look forward to it. Summers were dangerous. Avalanches would be more frequent, and it'd get warmer than she'd like it to be. It worried her, mostly because it meant Urza would be working twice as hard to keep everyone safe. He was a doll, but she worried about him. She wondered if this was going to be how it always was, or if she was just being overly worried now that they finally found something good.
Something moved at the corner of her eye, making Natintrapa jump.Miri had heard stories of a pride that was taking in hares and protecting them. That was what she needed. She didn't care that they were lions that were doing it, as long as they up held their word. With that, she went looking for someone, anyone. She had made some rogue lions quite angry, and she didn't want them hunting her down anymore. Sometimes her mouth got her in more trouble than she could handle. At least this way, she'd be able to say stuff and not worry about the consequence.
She followed the directions one of the other hares had told her, knowing that she was in trouble, he had told her pretty easily. It was a quiet day, the sun was out, and things looked white everywhere. She kept looking over her shoulder as she moved as fast as she could. She didn't want to run into those who hated her.
Finally, she found a huge lioness. Dark, almost dirt like and she started heading towards her. She accidentally scared the female. "Oh! Did I scare you?" She asked.

Natintrapa shook her head and gave a smile. "Oh! No, sorry. I wasn't expecting anyone!" Relief flowed over her, it was just a hare. She had seen a lot of them, but never actually talked to any until know. She was always afraid they'd run away from her. Yet this female seemed to not be afraid of her. "Can I help you?" She asked the hare. Surely, there was something Natintrapa could help with. That was what the pride was about.
"I'm Queen Natintrapa, welcome to Schnee la Neige'milima." She gave a bow to the hare. She wanted to give her all the service and respect that they needed. They were, after all, their saviors in the sense. Perhaps not this hare, but the one who had started it all. She had more respect for them than she would have ever thought.
Thank god! She found the pride, and the queen of it to boot! Her luck was starting to look up. "Oh thank god!" She said as she relaxed a bit and sat herself down near the lionesses' paws. "I've been looking for this pride." She said with a bit of an exhaustion hint to her voice. It had been a long time since she felt she could relax. But here she was, and things were going to be just fine.
"I'm Miri, and I'm in trouble." She said finally. Trying to explain it to where it sounded like she was the victim and completely innocent. Of course, she knew this was a complete lie. She wasn't innocent, and she had caused this problem herself. She had promised herself, however, if she found this place she would change her ways and do good. No more teasing lions. No more throwing things at them and calling names. No, she was done.
"I'm being hunted, and I need a safe place." She said finally. "Will you help me?" She looked up at the lioness with huge blue eyes and a sad pouty face.

Natintrapa gasped. She didn't like what she was hearing. A frown crossed her face. This was a matter she could handle which made her rather relieved. It was something she can help with personally, and Miri would never have to worry about it again. She gave a kind smile now, to Miri. "Don't worry, I will personally protect you."
"Everyone in this pride will make sure that you're save, along with anyone else that needs it." She moved her head to the level of the hare's sight. "You do not have to worry anymore, Miri." She patted the hare on the head and gave another smile. She wasn't too worried of the lions coming in this area. The pride was protected by the goddess of winter, they'd never find them. Only those who needed protection or somewhere safe to rest could find it.
"They will never find this place"
Miri wasn't totally convinced that they could never find this place. She only heard rumors on this place, but now she'd see it first hand. There was no better way this could have happened. She wouldn't assume the lioness was right, she wanted to know for sure. Of course, she had no reason not to trust her. Everyone who had told Miri of this pride and said almost the same as she did.
She smiled at her and nodded. "Well then, my big feline friend." She started. "I am in your debt, and will do anything you ask of me." Almost anything. She wouldn't become dinner if this lioness was fooling her. No matter. Things would work out, she felt it in her bones, but she didn't want to give into those feelings yet.

Natintrapa shook her head and smiled. "I believe you do not owe me anything." If anything, it was her that owed Miri something. She didn't want to admit it, but before a hare had saved Urza's life, she had eaten a few of them. She also had no respect for them other than the fact they were food. Now, she saw things a little different. They were more beneficial, and loyal than anything she had ever seen before.
"I'm in your service." She said with a nod. "If you need anything, anything at all, I will be there for you." Through think and thin. Miri was her companion now, and that was a big responsibility for her, and for Miri. "The only thing to be asked of you, is if anything happens to me where I can not get out of, you find the King, or anyone in the pride." Preferably Urza.
It was almost too good to be true, though she nodded. She didn't have to do anything for this protection except that? That would be easy. She'd stay near the lioness no matter what anyways. There was no sense in running off without her. "You've got yourself a deal, Queen Natintrapa" She gave the other a smile and a nod. "I am hungry though, do you know where I can find food?"
First things first, to test out this new servant. She couldn't have asked for a better lioness to run into. The queen, of all things. Oh, she had it made. She smiled. "I'm quite famished."

Natintrapa chuckled "You can call me Natina." It was a nickname she had decided was better than her actual name. She nodded at the little hare. "Then, we better get you some food! I know where there is plenty of food" She said with another chuckle. "Don't worry, it's not meat!" They had food for hares that they had
"Come now, I wouldn't want you to get lost." Her duty of scanning the inner pride area was lost for the moment. This was more important for the moment. One rule was to drop everything to help a hare in distress, and this was definitely what would fit under that rule. They came first, no matter what.
"Excellent!" She said as she stood up on her paws. "Lead the way! I'm right behind you." Miri was going to enjoy this, even if she didn't think it would last too long. Who knew what was going to happen, however. She would try hard not to make those around her angry. Maybe if they knew she was joking they wouldn't take it as bad.
"I'll watch your back if you watch mine." She muttered to herself as she followed the lioness. She was sure that she wasn't over heard, not that it mattered too much. This was the start of an interesting frendship.
