Berry was wandering through a new part of the lands many soq seemed to call home, the strange colored horse-like beings, like herself, seemed to favor large vanst areas of land, much larger tracks than the herd she'd grown up in, so there was plenty 'new' places to check out and thigns to learn, places to hid during particularly bad storms, where to find food easily accessable, fresh water and the like. She had wandered somewhat far fro mthe larger gathering grounds today, following a small bit of flowing water back to it's sorce, curious, at least she knew if she stayed near the water, she had a better chance of something to eat too if she got hungry. there was some open space, and some small bit of forest , each intertwined with the other, enough space to run but not enough to avoid a tree easily. it was sunny today, the clouds didn't seem 'angry' and she was recalling stories from her homelands to keep her company.

Thamin

"Water water, everywhere..." Came the disgruntled ramblings of the striped stallion. He glared in disgust as the turbulent surface began to settle into the placid and serean pool it had once been. He pawed angerly at the pebbles below, almost as if he was digging and searching for something. With sudden movement the large head was thrust once more beneath the surface, only to emerge with a dull rock. With a roar he flung the rock over his back, further down stream. Azzan wasnt happy. The water was misleading; it made each pebble below seem like a sparkling jewl when the surface was calm, but once removed they lost all luster and gleam - they would never be an appropriate gift for Ravah. With a huff he made his way to the bank, his black mane plastered to his face, continuing to drip as he continued to search without shaking himself dry. Colorless eyes fell though on a splash of color moving through the woods. He tilted his head, ever so slightly, to the side and grinned. It was bright, whatever it was. Perhaps it would be a good gift? He would have to see first. Silently Azzan made his way towards what he assumed to be a soquili.

Berry paused when she heard the spashing, looking around up and down the visible part of the stream she'd been following. seeing noone right away, she continued to walk slowly along. "Hm... Dad would know a story about something like this... let's see..." she murmured, eying the water for fish or frogs or such aquatic life. "Nothing there to make that kind of ruckus.. maybe a boulder then..? she leaned her head down to take a drink fro mthe water, flicking her ears back a bit to hold her holly crown on her head so she wouldn't have to chase it down the current for the tenth time this week, she liked the crown, but sometimes, the wild brothers and sisters, like wind and water, liked to play keep-away with it.

Thamin

The mare... Yes, it indeed was a soquili mare Azzan realized as he drew closer. The mare seemed cautious enough, pausing; but she continued to speak to herself. That would be annoying to say the least; Ravah liked things to speak, but not be annoying... As the mare stopped to take a drink from a small side stream from the one he had just come from Azzan capatolized on the opprotunity to get closer quicker. He drew within a few feet of the mare fairly quickly.

Berry finished her drink, lifted her head, and yelped, moving away fro mthe other quickly, startled. When had another come up, better when, when so close? "S-sorry, you startled me." she said, calming herself down a bit.

Thamin

Azzan continued to gaze, unblinking, at the mare. The grin only widened as she yelped - finally, a quality other than color that his mistress may approve of. But how was she physically? Any flaw would not do. Slowly he stepped closer, circling the mare - his eyes not blinking or moving frome her, not even once.

Berry moved to watch him, curiously. "Um... Are you alright?" she asked, not sure what the stallion was up to. She took notice of his striped, many creatures had stripes, but then she noticed his eyes. "Oh! your eyes!" she said, seeming excited. "Have you been gifted? What's your name?" she asked smiling a bit, forgetting the fact this one had startled her a moment ago, she hadn't seen eyes like his yet, and they reminded her of a few stories from home. Maybe this one liked stories? It'd been a while she she had the chance to share the stories of her home. "You have the shining eyes! Where you born with them? Did you gain them somehow? If so, how?" her questions continued as she half-pranced, shifting from one front hoove to the other a bit.

Thamin

The voice of the mare didn't please Azzan, but it was each to their own liking. Ravah may find it to be quite melodic, and it was her opinion alone that mattered to the stallion. Words went in one ear and out the other, in a matter of speaking, and Azzan just let them as he circled closer and closer. It wasn't until the mare mentioned his eyes that his concentration and scrutinizing gaze was broken. In a flash his eyes widened with an unspeakable rage. A bellow escaped his navy maw like a roar as he leaped and tackled the mare. Just as quickly he was back upright, and as hard as he could he stamped an ebony hoof within centimeters of her head. "These retched things are the main thing given to me by my mother! They are her eyes, not mine!" Came the malicious words as he shouted at the unknowing mare. He snorted and pranced past her, rearing and bucking, slamming his shoulders to trees and trampling shrubs to nothing but broken twigs to release anger and frustration. Once calm enough he paused and looked to the mare once more with a mad gleam in his eyes and a crazed meniacal smile. He spoke, each word dripping from his tongue like acidic venom. "You mention them again; and I'll skin you alive...."

ZapyKit

Berry has been quite startled by the attack, it hadn't happened before, she wasn't quite sure what would bring it on either, least, not until the stallion explained in his enraged state as she began to get back onto her hooves properly. "Sorry, I didn't know the subject upset you so." she replied, backing away from him a bit. "It's just there are stories, you see, good stories that my herd used to tell me, stemming from all kinds of things, Brother Wind, Sister River, the Birds, the earth, the plants..." she explained.

Thamin

Oh... The thought of the mare being a gift was nowhere to be found anymore. His head began to sway from side to side, as if he was rocking it to the rhythm of a song only he could hear. "Ebony hooves, silent as could be; a hunger for flesh, any that may be..." He began circling the mare once more, continuing to draw closer - personal boundaries were of no concern of his. A the mention of flesh he snapped his jaws at her, and a chuckle actually escaped him. "Colorless eyes I can recall, hungry for anything on which they fall..." He paused as he came once more around front of her and moved so that his face was so close to hers his very breath could blow her hair around her face. "And a Pelt, solid black, lays permanently fused upon her back..."

ZapyKit

"Berry backed away again, space was good around this one it seemed. "I've never heard that story before." she said, tilting her head a bit. "But I know others, Why one kind of eagle has white feathers on it's head, why Crow's song is so harsh, why Winter is old and Spring is new, Why the moon hides her shining face fro mtime to time, why the river twists... If you like I should share them with you?" she offered.

Thamin

A deep, hearty, laugh escaped Azzan and he began to step forward once more, oblivious to Berry's apparent aversion to his proximity. "Stories? Oh no... What proof is there is stories? I was describing my mother...." He lowered his head like a cat stalking it's prey so his wide eyes had to look up through the wild black mane of his. "Do your stories tell you just how sweet the sound of bones cracking beneath your hooves is? Or how soothing a scream of sheer and total pain can be? I'd like those stories... Tell me one."

ZapyKit

"Bones breaking..? Screams..?" She shook her head a bit. "Those things are not pleasent at all. The stories I know are meant to explain why something is as it is, how it happened, why, what made it came to be." she replied. " but I suppose there is one to bones.." she added, racking her mind for such a story. "Mm, yes, there is one I know of about bones. Bones and stones, crystals and such. Would you care to settle down while I tell the story?"

Thamin

"Oh... they are indeed pleasent...." A frown flashed for a moment, as if Azzan had something in his mouth that was soured or rotton. "Stones.... Crystals... Boring.... No; tell me one of the gurgled crys as you drown on your own blood, tell me about creatures flopping about as they try to flee on broken legs...."

ZapyKit

"Those have no stories, none that I know of." Berry replied. "I know the story of how bones came to be bones, the different kinds they were made of in times long forgotten."

Thamin

His brow began to furrow; the bit of flesh before him didnt have anything in her skull it seemed that he would like. Or at least knowledge wise. "No stories? How can there be none? I could tell a hundred." He paused, the grin once more spreading wide. "Yes, it is a perfect idea... Perfect Idea... No stories she has to tell you... no stories at all..." He resumed his stalking posture and began moving closer... This time with full intent to hunt the mare. "I shall give you one to tell..." He stated.
