Sailor Vespa hadn't thought that gathering energy would have been so difficult, and yet, he was struggling. There was no doubt about it, and there was no sugarcoating it either. He was failing miserably in the most simple of tasks, and now he was starting to grow desperate. He had tried getting energy from teens and adults and found little luck.
He even tried getting energy from animals at the Carnival but he couldn't get past his own conscious and the page that acted as their guardian. Then there was the Carnival ambush that General Painite herself had ordered and what little he gathered wasn't nearly enough to break even. He needed energy, and he needed it fast.
He was getting desperate. The Senshi of Wasps tried to think of how to get energy, from someone who wouldn't put up much of a fight, and the only thing he could think of was children. No, he wasn't happy with this plan, and he was going into this knowing that it would likely blow up in his face, but he was very, very desperate.
So, he waited outside of the school grounds of Knightside Academy, waiting until he was certain that his younger siblings were on the bus and heading home before deciding to make his move. He really didn't want to do this, but he felt that he had no choice. He didn't want to see what waited for him if he didn't make his quota...Cooro Cooro I swear I haven't forgotten this! I've just been so busy! So sorry!

It seemed that all of his encounters, lately focused around the little Knightside Elementary school. It made sense though, with children having such fresh, active energy, they were appealing targets. Avior's own little brother went to this school, so he made it a habit to come by the school in the evenings, watching over the little boy like a hawk. He hid up in one of the trees nearby, smiling as all the kids came out, chatting, smiling, complaining about homework.. It was so sweet, and warmed his heart, Seeing such innocence filled him with a small feeling of reassurance, that even in this dangerous world, normal people could live in peace.
Seeing his little brother be picked up by the limo, Avior figured he could go ahead home, and he dropped from the tree. He stretched, giving one last quick look around, before he would head out. There was this odd pressure he felt in his chest, one that he identified as someone with.. Perhaps not so good intentions. With such a concerning, though weaker than usual malicious aura around, there was no way in all the heavens he could simply leave.
As the area around him emptied, he began to thoroughly search the grounds. There was nothing here.. Nothing except another senshi! Well, it looked like a senshi, anyway, but he was so darkly colored, that it seemed that he might even work with the other side.. Or maybe it was just a senshi who fell in something dirty, he couldn't tell. It just seemed like the wrongness in the air was coming from him.
"Uh.. Hello?" Avior called out to him, wondering if it was someone on his side.
ChibiGingi Sorry! This post sucked! XD No worries though, my next one will be so much better, promise!

Vespa was already having second thoughts, and that was before he felt the ping of an Order presence nearby. What was he thinking, going after children? He wasn't a lion that had just taken over a pride- he had no reason to hunt down little children, right? He watched his little brother board the school bus and while he was certain that he was safe from other desperate Negaverse officer's attempts, he wanted nothing more than to power down and abandon his heinous crime before he had the chance to commit it. If there were no victims, no one would know, right?
Except he felt someone nearby, and he had remembered that sensation that overcame him. It was like running into that Senshi, Thraen, again, and while he was quick to growl at the mere thought of running into him again, he was cautious about this feeling. Who was it? Where was it coming from? Maybe if he was lucky, he'd get the jump on him, and thus, give him the advantage! Yes... that seemed like the perfect plan.
Which meant it was destined to fail, and no sooner had he come up with a plan of attack it was foiled! He heard his White Moon counterpart speak and he jumped nearly three feet into the air, before spinning around and facing him. It was hard to make out some details thanks to the bug-eyed visors, but he had seen enough to know that this guy was definitely an enemy, and he clenched his fists tightly as he spat. "Don't 'hello' me, all innocent like and stuff. I'm not falling for that, White Mooner!"
Perhaps he could get his energy from him? Yes, he seemed like he could have handled him, not unless he was hiding a great power like the last Senshi he battled. It was that thought that kept him from striking the rather jovial looking Senshi at that very moment. "So, take your friendly 'hellos' elsewhere!"

"White Mooner? Well, what other color would a moon be in the first place? Well... There were blue moons and red moons, and black moons, when it was gone from the sky, so I suppose there could be another color... And there is nothing wrong with being friendly! It's common courtesy, you know." Avior stepped back, such vicious words were rather unexpected to him, as most of the other's he had encountered were rather friendly in the initial meeting. It wasn't until after he had parted with a newly met senshi did he start to find a dislike to them. Never, of course, would he mention that to their faces! This time he hadn't even had enough time to ask why he was dirty.. Such a greeting pointed to the other being a menace to this place, rather than another true protector like himself.
"Oh.. Oh ho ho, I see, you're not a senshi are you? Not a normal one, anyway. Then again, who can define normality in this odd town anyway." Avior shrugged, before shaking his head.
"Well, if your intent is malicious then.. I suggest you leave this place. Or else I'll have to.. Squash you like a bug. You know, because you look like a bug?" He began to heartily laugh at himself, knowing full well that such a phrase must have been said before.
"Seriously though! Preying on children! That's a low blow, my friend! Moody teenagers, yes I could see that, annoying college students, of course! But these are just babies! Cute little kiddos who just want to.. Probably not go to school, but atleast just go by doing their innocent little things. Don't you have any siblings like that? Or someone you know? I bet you were a kid like that too at some point, though I don't know how other senshi age." Did he want to fight? Of course not! He hated fighting, he'd much rather guilt someone into leaving, and, personally, this guy looked like he wouldn't really be that hard of a fight, especially if there were kids around. He had not attacked when the huge mass of children exited the school, so there must be a reason as to why!

Vespa had no way of knowing how skilled or experienced, or even inexperienced, his opponent was, so of course it would be like the impulsive and quick to anger Senshi of Wasps to jump to all the wrong conclusions. What should have been a clear sign that Avior was somewhat new and unaware of the Senshi that were employed with the Negaverse, Vespa saw it as outright mockery, and add to the guilt of finding himself willing to attack young children, it certain made him turn red with anger.
"Don't mock me! You're... you're not suppose to be friendly to your enemy, not unless you're openly teasing me! Or... just stupid? But no one's that stupid, so you must be mocking me!" Vespa held none of his rage, or momentary confusion back, and if he were a bull, he'd be digging his hooves into the ground and kicking up dust, just to let Avior know that he wasn't going to put up with his shenanigans for much longer. "I'm not just any bug, either. I'm a wasp, and you don't mess with wasps!"
That phrase came out pretty corny, and even he could see that, despite his heated rage. But he refused to laugh, or smile, or do anything that wasn't scowling and trying to appear intimidating, though he knew it to be useless. If his opponent knew how useless his attack was, he'd be a laughing stock for sure, but perhaps there was hope yet? He was considering a plan, but that went out of the window when the Senshi started to chastise him. When be brought up having siblings, Vespa could only think of his brothers, and now the guilt came right back. What he wanted to do was admit that he did have siblings, and that he did feel ashamed for even considering it, but that kind of information was valuable for an enemy, and Vespa wouldn't allow him to take advantage of that!
"Shut up and fight me already! Your little guilt trips won't work, nor hide the truth about you Senshi!" He stomped his foot down, and without warning, he ran forward to strike him, his rage at its peak but his aim likely not so much.Cooro Cooro So sorry this took forever... vacation and things, you know. BUT I AM SOOOO BACK NOW.

"I'm not mocking anyone! And what truth are you talking about?! I'm just myself, and I fight to protect my family, not for some greater good or whatever other BS that some of these other senshi work for! Don't you think it was a little weird that I said that teens and college students are fair game? No one listens now, do they?" Avior didn't want to fight this kid, but it seemed that every single powered person he met that wasn't obviously a white mooner wanted to fight! His strength came from the ability to run away, that was for certain, except when fighting youmas. When it came to those creepy monsters, he wouldn't let anything stand in the way of smashing it to bits! Nasty little buggers!
To be honest, Avior was NOT expecting the sudden charge at him, and it didn't even register in his mind to avoid the punch until the very last moment. Though as quickly as he moved back, the strike hit him in the chest, and as he moved out of range once it landed, he placed his hands on the bruised area.
"Ow! Ow ow ow ow! Was that really necessary?! You're asking for it now!" He could take him, he knew it, and the punch was quickly retaliated with a quick foot coming up and swinging down sideways, in attempt to come down between his neck and shoulder.

Once again, he felt as though this senshi wasn't taking him seriously, and Vespa couldn't stand the thought of it! He knew he wasn't that great at this gig, and he knew that he had a long, long way to go before he'd be accepted as an equal in the Negaverse, like Alkaid, but that did not mean he'd stand for such blatant mockery from the enemy!
The blow to Avior's chest was bittersweet, as though he managed to get the blow in, the fact that he hit his ribs, which were much, much stronger than he could have anticipated, nullified any good his attack might have done. His fists and wrist rattled, and try as he might, he could not hide the pain in his voice as he gave a yelp. "I told you not to mock me! I don't like it when people mock me!"
He backed away, favoring his arm for a moment, about to make another angered remark when he felt the force of Avior's foot come crashing down on his shoulder. He slammed face first into the ground with a pained yelp, and no amount of strength or training could help Vespa fight the stars that were now circling around his head. "Murgghl...not...fair."

Avior felt that he was prepared to make contact with the boy, but he couldn't bring himself to continue all the way through with the kick. Instead of having his foot follow the boy all the way down to the ground to regain his position, his moment of hesitation caused him to go off balance, causing him to tumble over backwards only a few feet away from the other. Unlike him, however, he didn't hurt all that badly. His elbows would be a bit scraped up, but that didn't stop him from scrambling back up to his feet.
"Geesh... Are you alright? I didn't mean to kick that hard, you just.. You know. Eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth.. Though that might have been overkill, I'm sorry." He couldn't help but inch a little closer. Just looking at this guy was a bit pathetic.. Maybe he could try to patch things up. Though with this guy, it didn't seem like he'd want to do anything else except attack again And who knew what kind of power this kid could have. Looking at himself, there was no way to tell what he could do either. Best to stay a few feet away. Very calmly, he began to speak again, trying his best to seem serious at possible.
"I was never meaning to mock you, honest. If I came off like that, I'm sorry, I'm new to everything about this whole.. Powered thing and what not. I don't understand what's not fair.. So.. Maybe you could explain?" He REALLY didn't want to make an enemy of someone who was just confused. He knew to high heavens he was confused himself.

His White Moon nemesis sounded as though he was genuinely apologetic, but how could Vespa be expect to truly believe that? This could have all just been a ploy to get his guard down, and what a dirty trick that would have been! The other alternative was that this Senshi was completely clueless, but Vespa didn't want to think that anyone, much less his enemy, could be that dense. He gave a spat, pulling himself up to his feet by himself and scuffling away from Avior, not attacking or retreating but keeping the distance between them intact, as he said, "No you're not. Don't apologize to the enemy... don't they teach you anything in... whatever training camp they send you to?"
He rubbed his chin to dull away the pain and pick the dirt and grass from his mustache, even as he continued to address his enemy. There wasn't any real hatred or anger there, but he was definitely agitated with this whole experience. To think, a new Senshi and he still couldn't get the one up on him! How pathetic was Vespa that he couldn't even defeat someone that was likely newly awakened? "Yeah, well, I'm your enemy, and that's that. And you're my enemy, so I shouldn't have to explain anything to you."
His pride was wounded, as well as his shoulders and chin, but he wasn't quite sure what to do with himself at the moment. Defeat was nothing new to Vespa, but this one wasn't going in for the kill, or even ATTACKING. That seemed weird to him, so weird that he sort of just sat there and stared at Avior, as if waiting for him to make a move first. If he attacked, he'd attack. If he ran, maybe he'd run too. But if he talked... well, he wasn't necessarily told not to talk to Senshi, just not give away any valuable information.
"You're really not going to attack me, are you? Why? If you answer that, then maybe I can tell you why it's not fair."

"Training camp? I WISH there was a training camp. I wish there would have been someone to tell me anything." His arms came up to rub themselves, as if rubbing off a chill. "It's terrifying to just.. Wake up to something new, and have no idea what's going on in. It's like.. Be told that you have to fight these monsters, but no one really tells you why. No one tells you why there are people out to kill you. No one bothers to say a single thing. And even if I don't want to fight, I'm attacked. It makes no sense to me at all.
Avior turned his gaze back to the boy, having backed away before to give the other room, since the other still seemed very much agitated by the fact he was still here.
"Why are you my enemy then..? And you're hurt.. I'm so sorry about that. Crap, I'm sorry about apologizing. ... Crap." He had always had that problem, apologizing far too much and far too often. And he KNEW that it annoyed people, but.. It was just something he couldn't help.
"I won't attack you because.. Well, maybe I don't want to be seen as the same as all the other senshi. I don't know who they are. And I don't know you. You haven't hurt me, and you seem like you regret what you were going to do.. Or maybe that's just how I saw it, you might not really feel that way. I'd much rather see everyone walk away alright, than to fight. ... I'm not making any sense, am I?"

Vespa wanted to think that his opponent was trying to trick him, lure him into a false sense of security and make him believe that he was truly that new and naive. That would have certainly made more sense than him truly not knowing anything. And yet... he sounded earnest, and Vespa knew it was foolish to believe him, but... he did.
And now, he felt terrible to have attacked him. Vespa was quick to anger, maybe too quick, and now he was regretting his decision to strike out when he did. He gave a spat, meaning his apology even if it came out a little harsh and indignant. "Hey, look, sorry... I just do what I'm told to do, so, no hard feelings."
Then he thought about it, before adding, a little softer than a few seconds ago. "But at least I have someone there to tell me what to do."
He wasn't expecting to hear so many apologies from the other senshi, and in truth, he felt that every single one of them wasn't needed. Before he had the chance to tell him otherwise, though, his 'enemy' carried on his little rant, and Vespa didn't feel threatened at all. He listened, against his better judgment, and he found his frustration to be understandable... "You do make sense... which means only one thing. I'm terrible at my job!"
This kind of behavior was unusual to Vespa... or rather, it should have been. He was told that the White Moon were the enemy, and yet, all he encountered seemed to have missed the memo. Were they really that unorganized and lost, or perhaps...
No, he refused to consider the notion that the Negaverse was wrong. He gave a huff, before pulling himself back to his feet and straightening his visor. "Well, I get where you're coming from, but that's not how war works. At least, I don't think. If you're an enemy, we fight. If you're not my enemy, then... why are you on the White Moon's side?"

"White moon, Blue moon, Orange moon, Purple moon. I don't fight on behalf of anyone besides myself... And from what I understand.. Just because I'm light colored.. Doesn't mean I really had any loyalty to anyone. For all I know, My home could have hated the white moon kingdom, but just stayed neutral do to reasons that I can't understand." It was true though.. From what he had learned, not all of the senshi were united under the white moon. After all, what was it that made a little rock cycling around a plant so important to another planet so far across the galaxy?
"Why are you on.. Which ever side you are on? Why does it have to be war? Or are my questions stupid..? Either way, I suppose it doesn't matter.. If you think I'm an enemy, I think maybe it's time we part ways. I rather not fight, but.. If you really intend on taking these children, than I'll have to try to stop you again. My own family goes here, and I won't even allow a chance to slip by for him to get hurt."

"You... don't fight for your court or your queen?" Vespa seemed surprised by the very notion of it. No, he understood the words that Avior was saying, but he wasn't comprehending exactly what he meant. If this Senshi's loyalty wasn't to the White Moon or their Queen, then why was he not part of the Negaverse? One could not simply choose NOT to pick a side, could that? He was completely baffled, and he wasn't afraid to show it. "Well, if you're not fighting on behalf of them, then I think you're on the wrong side! Simple as that!"
Maybe it was wrong for him to say that, but he simply could not control the words that came out of his mouth, not when he felt overwhelmed by his emotions right now. When asked why he was with the Negaverse, he explained, and proudly so, just in case there were others about. "I'm part of the Negaverse because they care about this city, and this world. We don't want to be slaves to your Moon Queen again, so that's why we fight. That's why there's a war, because your queen tried to control us in the past."
Or, something to that effect. Vespa wasn't too ashamed to admit to others, but not to the enemy. Unless Avior offered his starseed to General-King Howlite or Zinkenite, he was an enemy. But an enemy he wasn't prepared to face now, and he was willing to part ways with him. He wasn't willing to confess that his own siblings went here, so, he backed down. "But I won't attack here again. I was desperate to fill my quota, but... not enough to hurt little children. Next time we meet, though... I won't be so weak."
Not that he felt that was necessary to say, given that this one seemed unwilling to fight. Maybe he could be converted? That wasn't his job, but it couldn't hurt to give his name a mention. "What's your name? I'm Sailor Vespa."

"Please stop calling her my queen! the only queen I might have had was the Queen of my own star! How I happened to come across this place, why I was born here, on Earth, I do not know, but believe me, once I find out, once I can return to my world, I will find out who I was to be loyal to and maybe I will change. I do not know." His words came out more irritable than he wanted. This boy just didn't seem to understand the concept that he didn't care who the white moon queen was supposed to be, or that there were few he actually wanted to protect.
"Good. Surely you'll be strong enough to take whatever it is you take from people from troublemakers or criminals. I know that would make things so much easier to do when it doesn't weigh on your mind that the people that you prey on might be innocent. Heck, if that were the case, I bet you could even be considered a hero! Rescuing the poor damsels in distress, while filling your quota at the same time." That wouldn't be so bad, right? He could do what he needed to do without sacrificing his own morals, which he did seem to have.
"Vespa? That sounds pretty cool. As a superhero you could ride one of those motor bike things too! Sailor Vespa, saving the day on a Vespa! I'm Sailor Avior.. But that sounds a little stupid, so Just Avior." When the boy before him wasn't so angry, he sounded like he could have been pretty nice. Atleast that's the kinda vibe Avior got off of him.
"I hope next time we meet, we aren't enemies. Well, I never saw you as one, so next time maybe it'll be mutual. Who knows, maybe if circumstances were different, we could have been friends."

"But... she is your..." Vespa cut the words short before he had the chance to make matters worse, and he gave a frustrated sigh. Something wasn't right at all about this situation and the more he met with his enemy, the more frustrated he got with how they also seemed to contradict the Negaverse's reports. He was certain that it had to be a ploy from the other side, perhaps hoping for him to drop his guard. But Vespa wouldn't allow it. He'd promise he'd never be fooled by them...
His suggestion about changing his target, however, intrigued him, and as much as Vespa didn't trust him, he couldn't help but muse at the thought. Certainly a better idea than targeting young children or defenseless animals... and maybe, he could get some good publicity for the Negaverse as well? He liked the idea, but he'd never admit it. At least, not openly, and not to the person who suggested it. But one could see the interest in his features, even through his violet, bug-eyed visors.
"Avior isn't too bad of a name, sounds strong," Vespa said, not willing to openly admit that he liked Avior's idea but figuring there'd be no harm in liking his name. He tried to push aside the thought of him riding one of those Vespas himself, if only so that Avior wouldn't mistake his dorky smile to come from wanting to mock his name or something. When he couldn't hold back the grin, though, he quickly turned away, and the notion of the two being friends... honestly bothered him. "Um, I don't think I'm allowed to be friends with you. Not unless... you know what, going to shut up now before I get either of our hopes up. Next time I see you, you best have your loyalties straightened out, okay? I'd rather have more allies than enemies..."
With that, he took off, suddenly wishing he had a Vespa of his own. Curse that Avior for putting thoughts into his head! Cooro Cooro Calling it a wrap on my end! Let me know if you want them to meet in powered form again.
