Roll a Nine: Seashore Field: Split down the middle between land and sea, this field compliments land and water type pokemon. On the west end of the field is the land section: fine grained sand gradually slopes downward to meet the salt water on the east end of the battleground. A single palm tree wavers lightly in the breeze while shells are scattered in random places in and on the sand. In the water half of the battleground, the water laps at the sand much like at a real beach; when it retracts it leaves behind strands of seaweed and pieces of coral. Both are found under the water, offering shelter for water-types (or those who can hold their breath for great periods of times). This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GROUND and WATER type attacks.

Natalie entered the stadium with Dusty sitting on top of her head. "We here, Dusty." she whispered to the emolga and lifted her off her head.
Upon being picked up, Dusty immediately escaped her trainer's grasp and flew up into the air to scan the field. Once confirming that this was the seashore field, she landed in the sand, causing some sand to fly into the air. Dusty sneezed when she inhaled some the mixture; she then immediately lifted a paw to rub her face.

Gormlaith walked into the stadium and looked about. She was more into contests but they too had battle portions. She needed one of her newer pokemon to get better at lasting in battles. "Let's go Vanadis!" She called out and tossed out her pokeball.
Vanadis landed in the sand and gave a disdainful sniff. This place would get her all dirty. She then spotted the other pokemon and gave it a quick look over. Sure the swirls were nice but they couldn't compare to her own markings she deemed. She looked at her trainer wondering what they were doing here.

Dusty glanced to her side and spotted an eevee. The emolga leaped into the air, sending a thin dust of sand in her wake. As she glided in the air, her cheeks started to discharge some electricity. Siad electricity then traveled all over her fur, making Dusty feel stronger.

Vanadis was not impressed by the electricity covering the Emolga. She growled her disapproval while keeping some distance between the two. She did make sure that her growl made her sound cute and adorable.

Dusty narrowed her eyes at the eevee. Seeing that it would be useless to raise her attack at the moment, she released a colorful beam at her opponent in an attempt to confuse her.

Vanadis dealt with colorful lights all the time and wasn't fooled by the signal beam trying to confuse her. She opened her mouth and took a deep breath. She then unleashed it emitting a powerful echoing voice.

Dusty disregarded the noisy eevee; she has heard worse. The emolga then tried again to confuse her opponent with more colorful beams.

Vanadis was not happy that she was ignored so easily. Her eyes narrowed as she silently swore to make this Emolga pay for that. Her head raised up at the colorful beams and she turned it to the side, clearly snubbing Dusty. Once the beams weakened she turned back to face Dusty. Her mouth opened and she unleashed a louder voice than before.

Dusty was getting agitated the her signal beams are not confusing the eevee. She landed to cover her ears from the echoed voice because her ear drums were ringing loudly. Though, after that, she jumped back into the air with a signal beam ready to be released.

Vanadis just blank stared at Dusty still trying to confuse her. She sighed and shook her head. So unoriginal and repetitive. Of course not paying attention to the fact that she also is using the same attack over and over again. Once more she unleashed her echoing voice at the Emolga.

Dusty glared at the eevee; she was honestly a bit annoyed. She endured another echoed voice before she started the quickly dive down. With her tail hardened, she attempted to smack the eevee with it.

Vanadis avoided the hardened tail but it landed so close to her that she dropped her guard slightly. She growled cutely to make up for her lowered defense.

After hearing the growl, she felt a bit reluctant to attack. How does Dusty solve this problem? She started to discharge electricity from her cheek pouches. She felt much better now.
