The Lieutenant was humming to himself, walking briskly through the near abandoned parking structure. It was three levels in one of the busier areas of town, across the street from a movie theater that often saw large opening night releases and other big crowds. Tonight, though, there were no good movies playing and the theater had already locked its doors. There were one or two cars around, presumably from people working late or out up to no good.

Merlinite had already filled his quota for tonight, but he was waiting for a few more victims to wander into this nicely built little trap. He had already taken care of the single camera in this area, the other one already broken by someone who had gotten there before him.

He liked to think it was another negaverser but, really, it could have been anyone, and could have been that way for years. Money could be scarce, with all the property damage and other expenses that plagued those living here. It was tough living in a town where a secret war was being waged.

He was perched in the bed of a truck, looking at the glowing balls of orbs he had already gathered that night. No ball of energy ever looked exactly alike, even the circles were not perfect. The colors were different. Even the glows had different intensity.

They sure were pretty, though, in a very addictive way.

Avior repeatedly cursed himself for coming through this area in town. Everything was so creepy at night, even if this town was relatively safe. It wouldn't help that the entire street was dark, so dark that he could barely see what was going on. Why didn't he call the limo to come pick him up? Well, the answer was easy, he figured he could make a little round to patrol this area as he headed back home. Plus, being in uniform made him feel safer than just walking home as little ol' normal self. It would be quite easy to fight normal people like this, mason and to most people, he just looked like a fancy brick r. It all worked out for him, atleast that's what he thought.

The reason he was here in the first place was because of a stupid gift for his sister's birthday. She had to have this book that was 'super rare and limited edition' and she didn't tell anyone until the very last minute. And she certainly wasn't kidding when she said that the book was super rare. Sure, he could have bought it off the internet, but there was no way it would have made it to their home in time for her birthday, no matter how much he had paid. So here he was now, holding the book in his hands, wrapped up rather nicely for the birthday event to follow.

Just because he felt safer because of his uniform, didn't mean that he didn't constantly look around, gazing over his shoulder, and looking in all directions as he walked. So far, all that seemed to be around were parking lots and empty movie theaters, certainly not his typical scene. There was something odd about that high-rise parking lot though.. A weird glow seemed to emit from the open walkway, faint, but it felt oddly familiar. Avior knew what that feeling was.. The feeling of an enemy. Or atleast someone who was supposed to be his enemy. He had always felt that, though he never knew who was behind the uniform, what if it were someone he associated with? Someone he cared about? It could have even been a friend, but he couldn't tell them who he was, and he doubted someone would reveal their identity either.

He followed the light finally approaching a truck that was parked inside of the garage. The site was dreadful, the balls of energy were being played with as if they were some entrancing lava lamp. It was lovely, though simply chilling to see..

"What are you doing there?! It's time for you to get out of here and go back to where you came from!" Avior rather the guy just took what he had, and leave, but the way he was sitting about, it looked like the man had no intentions of leaving just yet.

"Where I came from? I'm from here. Well, not this truck, maybe, but you know what I mean. This place is my home. This planet, this city. There's nothing strange about my being here." He grinned, and got up, standing on the truck and looking down at the other man. If he could be called that.

He held the orbs in his hand, shaking them a bit. They didn't make a sound like marbles would but they felt good in his hand and he liked the feel of them rolling around. He liked to think they were still warm, but then, they hadn't been.

They were lifeless, though their former owners were a little better off.

"From what I hear, it's you guys that have no real right to be here. Isn't that what they say? What other folks on my team tell you, too? That you're aliens or whatever? And you're always messing up our plans. Not every nice of you, either." He shook his head. "Still. There's so much we don't know about you. You, specifically, are new to me. Who are you? Who do you work for? With? What's your power?"

He imagined he wouldn't get answers just by asking, but he wasn't intending on just asking.

Well.. This was something new. He wasn't being attacked right away. The man before him hadn't even really moved, except to stand up and look down on him. Then again.. From where he was, the man didn't even need to move to have that same kind of leverage above him. In fact.. Just hearing him asking questions made him question himself, and what was his motives..

"Whether or not I belong here.. Is that really for you to decide? For all I know, and what I remember, I was born on this planet, and doesn't that make me just as much of an Earthling as you are?" The whole argument on whether or not he belonged here just made him more and more weary.. If he didn't, then why was he here, why couldn't he just return to wherever he was from. There were just too many variables to think about to be completely satisfied with anything about this war, or on who's side he was on.

"I have nothing to hide. I have no reason to hide anything. Who do I work for? That is a good question. I work on my own. I do my own thing, following the beat of my own drum, doing what I think is right, for the sake of those that are worth protecting. As for my power.. I rather not show it off unless I need to. So.. Why can't we just leave it at that, and go about our separate ways?"

"God you could just answer something in one sentence, you know? No need to blather on, saying absolutely nothing. I hate it when you guys have nothing to tell me, you know that? Hate it. Not interested in listening to nothing."

Merlinite was in the information game. If someone lacked the information he wanted or needed, then that made them expendable. Sure, he had not really come up with the best questions just yet but he was still working on coming up with things that the Negaverse might really want to know.

But there were so many Senshi and Knights, practicing on a few newbies and weaklings wouldn't hurt. They were expendables, they were pointless.

"In case you weren't getting the hint, you're not going anywhere. Probably ever again, to be honest." He grinned. He was still new to the threats and follow through areas, too, but he was eager to give it another try.

Frustration and absolute rage began to fill the young senshi. Avior had enough of this, enough of this damned so called war, sick of having to fight, and absolutely done with whoever the hell the Negaverse was. Did it matter? Did he care? Not one single sliver of a bit! If he had a choice, if he were older, if he could SOMEHOW convince his family to move away, move back to his old town, or even just far, far from this blasted city, he would have. His fingers closed by his side, as if imagining slowly gripping onto a neck, squeezing tighter and tighter, until that rambling noise that was called speech finally stopped. Ooh, how he wished he could just disappear, leaving whoever the hell was standing before him alone in the garage.

"Absolutely nothing..? Do I HONESTLY look like I give a single flying flip about what you think? About what you hate or what you think I'm saying, even if it's nothing at all? I don't. I don't care about you, I don't care about other senshi. I don't care about what the hell my mission is supposed to be! Who the heck gave whoever is in charge the right to tell me what to do?! Why the heck should I put MY neck on the line to save people who've done nothing for me? What do owe whoever you stole whatever from? Nothing. Nothing at all!" The boy turned on his heel, heading out the way he came. He had no time for this. He didn't want anything to do with the red-haired Negaverse whatever. All he wanted was to go home, make sure everyone was asleep and well, and not think about what he had become involved in.

"I am done. I don't care. I do not CARE what you do. Leave me out of it. Go collect your little balls of energy or what not. I'm sure some of these people deserved it in the first place; you're the one passing judgement, not me. Or maybe you're completely unbiased. I don't care." As absolutely agitated as he was, he was not stupid enough to let his guard down. There was no doubt in his mind that the other would attack him. After all, he did say he was "not going anywhere". Atleast that's what the red-headed menace thought. Just wait, there was nothing that was going to stop the boy from leaving.

"Nah, most of you White Moon folk don't seem to care about what anyone else thinks. That's probably because you're all too busy being the super heroes that save the day. That kind of self righteousness takes a lot of focus, I know."

He liked seeing the way this guys resolve was shaken, probably even before Merlinite had gotten there to poke at it. He was not the happiest senshi the Nega had ever seen, though he was trying hard to escape a fight and that seemed like a common trend with these folks. No back bone in the White Moon, that was what Merlinite was gathering.

"You'd make a good agent of Chaos," he said tauntingly. "I mean, we'd have to work on your courage a bit, since you're running away like a little girl, but the way you don't care about anyone? That'd be good on our side. You sure you're fighting for the right team?"

He moved to follow him, grinning ear to ear.

"I feel like I'd be attacking one of my own, if I hit you now."

"Keep speaking what you will about the others, I do not care." Avior shook his head, continuing on his way towards the stairwell. The thought of permanently powering down was a bit more frequent than it used to be. Since the encounter with the crazed captain, he feared for his very life every time he powered up. Did he honestly do something to have a death stamp on his forehead? His pace quickened just a bit more, wanting just a moment to be out of this man's sight, and power down before he could be tracked any more.

"Perhaps I would make a good agent.. " What was he thinking, speaking of his insecurities and what not! His fists had began to clench at his sides, his feet picking up speed once again. Can't the guy just leave him be?!

"Well then, good. You can just turn around now, and forget about me."

Merlinite laughed. So this guy had no moral back bone like the other senshi he had met recently. Which was probably good, because she had near broken his head in her resolve and he was not sure he wanted to take any more blows like that. He wasn't sure how good this healing stuff was, if it undid the damage or if he just kept getting hit in the head he would get brain damage regardless.

He did not want that.

Merlinite followed him and debated whether this fight was worth it or not. This guy obviously did not know anything about the White Moon, so getting information out of him was probably a no go. After all, that was supposed to be his main duty out here. He just liked to fight as well, so he had to make that work for him. Give himself some sort of an excuse for it.

He called his baton to his hand and grinned, lunging after him and opting for the direct approach. Talking wasn't working, after all, so swinging for the back of the guys head was probably the next best thing.

Though Avior was all but blind at night, he wasn't deaf to the sound of feet coming up quickly behind him. A quick turn and punch of the ground caused a ten-foot wide wall to spring up from the ground, stopping the attack before it reached his skull. It was too close of a save, and the wall came up only inches away from his own nose. Now, he had never been pinned above the wall when it came up, but it was certain that it would hurt. After all, it hurt to slam your hand in a car door, why wouldn't it hurt when a wall came up rapidly from the ground?

"How much more clearly do I have to say it?! I DO NOT WANT TO FIGHT?! What is wrong with you?!" His words came out harsher than he had ever heard himself saying before. Was it that bad that he just wanted to leave?! He wasn't sure if he could outrun the other, but atleast he could try. For the moment he had free, he dashed away, heading towards the staircase exit. It was pretty clear this guy wasn't just some random person wanting to fight. He looked fit, and probably could easily pin the boy down if he were caught. So he ran. Hopefully he could get far enough in ten seconds... And the man didn't realize he could simply walk around it!

Build that Wall!
Avior calls out his attack while punching the ground before him and from there, a magical, invisible wall springs up before him, enchanted to be impossible to jump over. It is only 10 feet wide, blocking him from any frontal assault. The wall is only up for 10 seconds, from which Avior would have to hit the ground again to build it up.. For an equal level character, it could be nearly impenetrable, and the stronger the enemy, the quicker the wall comes down. A 4th level character could instantly smash the wall to bits, a 3rd level character in a few hits, and a 2nd after a good bashing, though it would probably just be easier to walk around the wall. This can be used three times a battle, though there is a 10 second cool down between each summoned wall.

"Fine then," Merlinite grunted. "I have no time for senshi who don't know anything, don't want to fight, and might as well not have powered up. What exactly do you think you're doing out here, if not to do your job? Besides wasting everyone's time."

The nega grunted, shaking his smarting hand and shaking his head. He was not going to waste his time hunting down a little boy with a trail of pee at his feet, wanting an opponent, not a punching bag. He also did not want to punch any more walls.

Sighing, rolling his shoulders back, he let the other run off and tried to pretend his hand didn't hurt, and his pride wasn't injured by punching that wall. Stupid attack. Stupid senshi and their stupid magic. Why didn't Negas get cool spells like that? He liked his weapon, obviously, but...

Sometimes he thought being able to blast someone with fire or turn them into a puddle or something would be a lot more fun.

Getting distracted, he turned to wander off the other way, grumbling to himself and debating just going home tonight. It felt like a wash and his mood had been killed. He could just have a drink, watch some TV and unwind before work came for him in the morning...

To his surprise, the nega did not follow him any further. Avior couldn't help but chuckle at that, did he REALLY not even try to see if he could go around the wall? Sure, the words that he heard nipped at him a bit, but nothing could beat the fact that the man didn't even try. Not that he really wanted to keep fighting.

As soon as he was out of sight, and knew the man was no longer after him, he powered down, his breath coming out in quick little gasps. It seemed like tonight he'd get away uninjured.. One less thing to explain to his parents..
