 Heavy. Weighed down. That was how Gamma felt at the moment. He was all but drowning under the burdens of guilt and regret that he was carrying with him. One by one, he was searching the places that he, his mother, and his older brother left their "weaker" siblings. He couldn't believe now how blind he'd been, trusting that they would soon return for the abandoned foals. He really needed to eat, to drink, and to sleep, but the stallion couldn't find the energy or willpower to do any of those. He just kept trudging along like some sort of possessed zombie, his deep pink eyes searching for familiar colors and patterns. Eventually his body rebelled and refused to let him go further. He collapsed in the shade of a tree, still dully staring out at the world. The burden felt heavier as he laid there, thinking about all of the siblings that had faithfully waited for them to come back for them. The older ones were probably long gone: Beta, the triplets Zeta, Eta and Theta... but maybe some of the younger ones survived. If he could find them and take care of them before it was too late... Maybe he could ease his burden a bit. Even just a little bit... His eyes searched the horizon until he finally passed out. But just before his eyelids turned to iron and closed, he thought he saw something... something white... or was it red...? He was too exhausted to check and a moment later, he lost consciousness.

 Kadenza was trotting along peacefully, enjoying the sights and sounds not too far from her home, but far enough to be a days or so trot away..; In any case, she had a bit of a wandering spirit, which she was fulfilling today. However, the heat began to get to her so she made her way over to a shade tree and sat down, not noticing until she actually sat on him, that she was sitting on a green, foliage patterned male. She jumped up in shock and stared down at him, her dark eyes finally finding the shape of him, and she also finally noticed his blue mane. Oh how embarrassing.

Gamma remained unconscious and plagued by his mental burdens until a physical weight tried to crush him. He grimaced and let out a quiet grunt, forcing his eyes open when the weight removed itself. His blurry vision tiredly locked on the Azrien in front of him. A mare. White with red and black... Oh. So that's what he'd seen in the distance... He licked his lips to bring some sort of moisture to them and managed to whisper out a weak greeting. But he could feel his body trying to shut down again, so he didn't try to communicate further. He was tired...

Kenzi blushed and sat down, watching the male intently. Poor thing. He looked so worn out and tired. So she decided to keep watch. Jumping to her hooves, she pranced around him and the tree, keeping her eyes on the horizon so she could tell if someone was coming in time to warn them off... Not that she would do much 'warning', unless they were scared of her exuberance.

If Gamma hadn't been so worn out, he might've laughed at the mare's antics. But at the moment, they just made him a bit dizzy. First she sat down and watched him intently, then started circling the tree. To keep himself from becoming dizzier, he closed his eyes and returned to unconsciousness again.
Several hours must've passed since he passed out, for when he opened his eyes again, the sun's rays were swiftly retreating from the sky. After a moment or two, he forced himself to munch on a bit of grass. His eyes lazily scanned for the mare that had been all but prancing around him before. Had that really happened, or was she just a figment of his imagination?

Kenzi had just pranced a bit away to a small orchard she had seen in the distance, and grabbed as many as she could and was bringing them back, making a small pile for when the male woke up. She was currently on her last trip when she saw he had woken up. Her gait picked up and became bouncier as she made her way towards him, her black and red tail swishing along behind her excitedly. She set the apples down and sat down on her haunches, grinning at him. "G'mornin' Sunshine!" She greeted exuberantly.

Gamma wearily lifted his gaze to look at the perky mare. So she wasn't a dream. Either that, or he was still delusional. But the apples she'd stacked nearby seemed very real. "Good morning," he greeted unenthusiastically. If he didn't know better, he would've sworn that this mare was draining what energy he had left to fuel her own flamboyant attitude. "But I think you're more of the 'sunshine' type than I am." He eyed the apples and took one, ready to drop it if there was an objection. But there wasn't, so he quietly munched on it. It was good. He hadn't had fresh fruit in ages...

Kenzi grinned at him and watched him eat for a moment, quiet as she let him wake up fully and become aware of his surroundings. It was what she had to do with the rest of her family too, because they weren't really excitable like her.. well... her niece Moon was, but everyone else wasn't. Once it seemed he was awake she grinned, stood up and began to introduce herself. "I'm Kadenza, Kenzi to my friends, and I'm sorry I sat on you earlier. I didn't realize you were a you!" She exclaimed.

Gamma was glad she at least waited until he was aware before talking to him. Although hesitant, he introduced himself as well. "I'm Gamma. And it's fine... no harm done." The accident was understandable with his pelt's patterning, though he didn't know how she missed the turquoise mane.

Kenzi smiled and blushed again. "I'm a tad bit unobservant." She said, answering his unasked musings on how she missed his hair as she watched him eat.

Gamma nodded slowly as he chewed on another apple, swallowing before replying. "I'm a tad bit too observant," he replied. "At least now, anyway..." Once he'd been 'a tad bit unobservant' too... and then reality hit him like a ton of bricks. So many foals that he'd willingly let his mother abandon...

Kenzi tilted his head, noticing the subtle.. well not to subtle, shift in expression and attitude. "Whats wrong?" She asked curiously. He looked like he just saw someone murdering a foal or something...

Gamma forced himself from his thoughts, shaking his head. "It's nothing. I'm just naturally sullen." In an attempt to change the subject, he asked, "Where is this exactly?" With how wrapped up in his thoughts he'd been, he lost track of what direction he was going in...

Kadenza shrugged off his avoidance of her question and looked up at the sky. "Uhm.. Maybe two miles from Lady Dea's... Good luck getting past her Chosen if that is where you are headed..." She chuckled for a moment then turned silent and thoughtful. "Gamma... Hrm.. I know of a family with similar names... Let's see... There's an Iota and Delta... Their mother is named... Betha.. Beta. Her name is Beta. In fact.. she kinda has a similar coat pattern as you." She commented, looking over his coloring again.

Gamma's eyes slowly widened. Iota. Delta. Those weren't names of siblings. Which meant they had to be nieces and/or nephews if they were related at all...
Wait. Did she say Beta?
The stallion's heart tried to stop beating at the name. Beta. His first sister. The first abandoned child. She was alive? Emotions swirled in him. "Could you...?" he started, then shook his head. "No, nevermind. It's a bad idea..." If she remembered him, she'd hate him. And he wasn't sure he could at that to his list of burdens. He had enough as it was.
