((players: graceangel and pgm))

It was a fine summer afternoon. This time of year, Karis liked to come down off the mountain to the forest floor. However, with their continent in such a state of transition and cleansing; she couldn't return there. She did her best to find a spot that had at least some vegetation and trees to relax under. She enjoyed finding a river, a pond or someplace with some water. Good water was getting harder to find. In fact, majority of all Ulaya these days were crowding this large watering hole. She had just returned from it. She felt disappointed she didn't return with any fish. Fish. Those had become hard to get as well, especially with all these bigger ulaya who consumed more food hovering. She went off trailing a long walk. She found a spot where some bushes created a canopy over the ground as its leaves brushed against the stone wall of what was a ruin of a wall that once stood there. She had never been in this place before.

Due to her shenanigans with having left Kazu sleeping early one morning hoping to go pray somewhere. When she had returned, he was gone. She hadn't seen him since then either. She felt concerned. Had she made him feel completely done to a point that he wouldn't even wanna travel with her? Most ulaya seemed to all be heading in one direction. Karis didn't mind going in that direction, but she wanted to keep her space too. If she was too crowded, she might not have anywhere to pray at. Then again, she couldn't tell that to them.

So that afternoon, she laid down cooling off in the shade. It had been a while since she had seen any of her friends. It was quite lonely, but deep down, she clung to her hope that everything would be ok. She'd run into someone soon enough. Many had lost their loved ones when the floor of the plains flooded after the volcano eruption. Disaster after disasters that drove them all this way; she knew she should just be grateful to be alive. She whispered a soundless thank you to the one she so desperately loved. She believed that though she had nothing to base it on. Her heart told her he was still alive.

Jumping from place to place, Chiyuki observed the lands around him. They had become chaotic in the recent seasons, and their disruptions had interrupted his usual "cycle." Though he would never tell anyone, the first thing that popped in his mind was the female that he carelessly left behind. Well, not too carelessly, but that was the reason he was now traveling around hunting for her. He knew Karis was able to care for herself--after all, he'd taught her how to in case he wasn't around--but he had an ill feeling in his gut that he really needed to be by her side right now. He had encountered his nearly-healed brother Kazuhiko, who had remarked sourly that he'd lost track of Karis. Then his brother had loped off in search of food and water, as well.

Then, Karis's scent drifted towards him. Before he knew what he was doing, he was running, and realizing he was acting uncharacteristically unlike himself, he slowed to a quick jog. Karis wouldn't likely be moving considering the craziness of the lands at the moment, but Chiyuki didn't want to really take a chance on it. Last thing he needed was some stupid heavy guilt riding all over his gut telling him he should have stuck around to protect his helpless-seeming devotee. Well, he would fix that now and just make it up as simply checking to make sure Karis was still very loyal to him. Yes, he would do just that, and she wouldn't know any better--he hoped.

Yes. It was a lovely spot she had found. It was far enough from the crowds to have a calm and quiet area. She had started to drift off to sleep. In half asleep day dreams, she envisioned that her Yuki had been in her shadows the whole time. One morning, she'd wake up; and there would be food there. Oh, but would there be? No. That was only during winter time. It wasn't his way to come out and find her in the summer. She sighed and rolled over in her rest.

After a while she felt the silence more, she sniffed at the air taking in deep breaths. She thought to herself, "What a strange sensation. My nose tickles. The hairs on my body stand up and react to my dreams as though they were real. Oh, my heart. Why would we wanna think or hope for such a thing? Only to be disappointed." She moved one paw up against her chin. It was almost like she were nibbling the tips of them and her claws almost.

"Disappointed? Well, I, for one, am very disappointed my dear little brother left you unprotected, my sweet Karis." He loved surprising her. The delight in her gaze whenever she saw him sent shivers deep into his soul--again, Yuki refused to acknowledge such emotions. "I'm surprised you're all alone, my dear Karis. I was looking all over for you." He decided that if he told her in that oh-so-subtle way of his that he had honestly been hunting around for her, he'd get more attention.

Yes.

He loved her attention.

Yuki allowed a warm purr to go through his body, loud enough for Karis to hear his pleasure in finally finding her. "Ah, don't move, you look so relaxed and comfortable, I shall settle myself next to you just as comfortably." And so he did, sliding down and making sure his body touched his dear devotee's body, and trying desperately not to insinuate any other action other than that he wanted to be close--very close indeed.

Her sapphire eyes flew open. Even if she had wanted to get up, the sudden surprise left her nearly paralyzed for most of the time from his words that graced the air until he laid down behind her. So... it wasn't a dream? Or, was this a dream? Well, if it was, she had no intention of waking up anytime soon. Any who attempted to do so would be hated forever. That was a loaded sentiment given that she wasn't often given to such extreme or dark emotions like hate.

Still, there was no sound in the world she ever wanted to hear than him talking to her. The following sound of his purring even. Her emotions were all over the place. She was full of happiness, excitement, and even there was a tad bit of lust there too. Besides all that, she found herself wanting to just cry for relief of the never ending saga of the always deferring hope of him not being angry with her or refusing to come see her. Deep down in her heart, she kept believing if she continued to do everything she did. He would reward her faithful spirit. Her never waning love and ever zealous adorations would surely please him enough to come see her, eventually at least. It had been so long since she could recall him this close to her.

Her mind thought about the last two years in passing. There was that huge confrontation on the hill. His rabid jealousy masked in so much rage and violence. She then paused a moment in her mental reveries to feel him there. The sound of his low purring. She couldn't just hear it. She could feel it. Then because for a moment she could not move herself in any other manner, she reached her paws to his arms to wrap them around her face. She still laid in the same position and manner that he came to her at, but she wrapped his paws to where her cheeks were nearly covered under them.

"Yuki....... I.... missed you so much," she stopped to prevent herself from allowing her emotions to make her cry and ruin it all. She steadied her thoughts. She quieted her mind. Any time spent chasing all these thoughts and feelings was wasting her precious time. Who knew how long he was here for. "I'm.. so glad you came."

After enjoying the feel of his fur against hers, she again softly and gently spoke. "I have more comfort in solitude these days. It's ok to be with others, but noone else's presence is good enough to fill the void when you're not here. I only ever wonder where you are and what you're doing. Wishing I could see you again. I doubt I'm much good company to anyone." Her face burned then with a little of embarrassment to just openly admit it. Then again, he probably knew. He always seemed to know.
PostPosted: Fri Jun 21, 2013 7:25 pm

He chuckled softly into her ear as she, for once, took some initiative to wrap his paws about her person. "And I have quite missed you, dear Karis. I apologize for making you wait. I have had... things... to think of... that took me elsewhere." There. Enough to hint that she had been on his mind. Enough to let know how furious he had been with her involvement with that... that... Azazel character. He swore to himself he would avenge the injuries upon his brother, as well as those he received--and those that Karis received.

That he himself had started the fight--or had it been the other? He could not remember--was a null point. The female that somehow captured many males' attentions was his. He had lain claim to her ages ago, and he was not letting go without a fight, despite how much he often left her alone. Well, Yuki decided, he wasn't going to allow Karis to be alone any longer. She was his apprentice, his devotee, his... Chiyuki mentally growled to himself as he fiercely shoved away the last thought to the farthest reaches of his mind. Karis was a passing obsession, that was all. She fed his ego very well, and she adored him to her very core. He could not pass up such a chance to gloat about his godliness, and Karis was one devotee who would vouch for him on the matter.

"Come now, my sweet Karis, it is all right to shed tears. I know you have missed my presence, but I have good news for you, my dear," Chiyuki paused for a bit of effect, being the dramatic character he was, "I have decided to stay with you at all times. I cannot, will not, allow for you to be without me should you cross paths with that loathsome creature... I shall even call upon my brother--and he shall listen, the poor soul--to be an additional protector." Chiyuki licked a cheek as an assurance and as subtle promise. He would not be leaving her side; if he left at all, it would be to feed himself and Karis or to scout safer places to spend the night.

Her eyes moved slowly back and forth peering up at a leaf hanging above them. His words were to her heart and ears like water upon a parched field of earth that drank it till there were no more moisture. His dotes of affection sent her heart racing. She didn't bother to hide it because the vibrations of it would surely give it away just as the vibrations did of his purring. Her tail responded with happy swishes though. She then closed her eyes. This was almost everything she had ever wanted. Almost.. There was something else. Something that felt like it was there though it wasn't revealing itself entirely. She could sense it though it wasn't entirely palpable just yet.

She rolled over onto her stomach where her head could turn to burrow into his shoulder. A position that would allow her to steal some glances from his eyes. Once she was comfortable, she looked straight towards his eyes to search them. She couldn't doubt what she saw. She felt with a growing conviction that his words meant more than he was even daring to tell her. Yet, part of her felt unsure of whether to hope that every word he said was what would happen.

"Are you serious? About... not leaving? Will you really stay?" Then, she subtley started to move just a little closer. She found herself a little surprised that even his tone concerning his brother seemed a little... softer, nicer even. She then marveled and wondered if his previous irritation with Kazu has also been out of jealousy. Was he really that possessive of her? Then, a small smile played across her maw.

"I do appreciate your protection and your provisions. The thing that makes me most happy is just that you're here. Even if you didn't do any of that." Her eyes moved down to the tips of her paws. The feeling of noticing his need for her to belong to him. Wasn't that a type of love? Was it ok to accept that kind of love? Love was a two way street, and she was more than willing to take it if this was his way of loving her.

Chiyuki's golden gaze darkened slightly at Karis's insinuation that he would possibly leave. He might have to warn her that he might disappear again, but only because he might have to go far for his personal type of food. Karis was a grass eater, and he, a meat eater, and he doubted Karis would enjoy seeing him hunt and relish the bloody kills. "I am quite serious about staying, my dear Karis. The only time I may possibly leave, is if I must travel far for food. In these chaotic times, it is uncertain if I will find food to my appetite." He nuzzled Karis despite himself, because feeling her physical presence was something he did not wish to admit. Karis could read into his actions as she pleased, and however she interpreted it, she could do so as she wished as long as she was happy with it.

"At any rate, my sweet, the lands have gone quite crazy. You haven't been in contact with that foul creature from before, have you? I apologize I could not return to your side from that time..." His voice trailed off as his golden gaze became a sharp, burning fire, his rage at the thought of Azazel still a raging volcano. He utterly disliked the male. In the midst of all the chaos, their other companion, Chrono, seemed to have disappeared as well. Perhaps the male had been worried he'd be unable to find the female he was talking about. He was always going on about how he had to find her before it was too late, and Chiyuki supposed he couldn't blame the winged male.

Realizing his thoughts were straying, Chiyuki wrapped his tail around Karis and himself. He would bask in this closeness until prove otherwise. He would admit, at least to himself, that he had missed Karis. Feeling less guilty now that he had at least admitted that tidbit to himself, Chiyuki found he was still fighting. He was still in denial, but for the time being, he pushed away his quarreling emotions. He and Karis would have to find a much more suitable spot than the cavern where he had protected her for the winter several seasons ago, a place where foraging for food would be easy for Karis and hunting for himself wouldn't lead him too far from her side. With that... Azazel... lurking about, Chiyuki did not wish for Karis to be alone more than necessary.

At the mention of Azazel, Karis's eyes lidded halfway drifting to the side. Part of her wondered if it were wise to keep it, but she figured she'd best be open and honest. What if he had known the truth and she wasn't forthcoming? She feared his reaction, but his tone and affections with her convinced her heart to be willing to trust him with it.

She started to push her front up a little bit. She turned towards him more and pressed her paws onto his shoulders. Her claw tips touching into his fur in a clingy way to holdfast onto him. "Yuki..... He... did drop by a while back. Not sure how recent you'd wanna call it; but it was before I left the winter cave site. He came being nice at first. He seemed like he was saying nice things. The way he said them sounded nice at first.... but... but then..."

Her emotions returned full force. The anguish and suffering she so happily endured rose up like a flood bursting forth out of a dam. The tears came hot and quick flowing down her face like lava over its cauldron. With her paws still stuck into his shoulders, she pushed her face into the side of his neck. After she calmed down more, she looked up to tell him more. "Then, he kept saying about how you'd never come back. He kept saying how a terrible person you were and all sorts of stuff. Kazu never showed up while he was there at all. I found that odd and suspicious, but I didn't know what to make of that. And... the time he chose to come was a day after Kazu went to find food. ... I think he was watching. The way he seems to know how to time his arrivals. The way he says certain things...."

She herself wasn't wise enough about dark things to understand the true malevolence of Azazel's behaviors. She sat there trembling. Her heart finally full of hope and relief to be with him again. It sat precariously on the edge of a knife fearing if Chiyuki would punish her or take his anger out on her again. She wasn't yet able to understand nor articulate to Chiyuki that Azazel was finding ways to exploit and twist Karis's feelings for Yuki. He tried to undermine her feelings and make her feel betrayed by Yuki enough to do something unforgivable though she never did that. For, how could she do anything but love her white leopard. He was her knight. She was utterly content to adore and worship him in any way he desired. As she sat and looked at Yuki through her tears, her heart was being pulled in yet another direction. Her faith was here manifested in front of her face. She could feel him beneath her paws.

All she wanted to do was love on him and tell him how much she loved him. Not sit here and weep and have to talk about that visit. Deeper down, she wondered if some greater god out there had sent Azazel to test her. Since she had kept herself clean and pure for her Chiyuki; that he had been sent back to her. What was that saying she'd heard elders mention? About when you let something you love free and if it came back to you.

He tensed as Karis confessed to what had happened to her in that last recent seasons. His claws came out, and he had to force himself to retract them so he could cuddle Karis to him tightly. Her raw emotions angered him. What infuriated him more was that... that brute of a male had taken pains to destroy what little confidence she had. Sure, he himself played with her emotions, but he didn't want her to suffer in pleasure. He was merely... confused. He enjoyed her devotion, and perhaps he had needed to leave to think about things--after all, Chiyuki hated analyzing emotions that confused him. He had confirmed some emotions concerning his family, and even more concerning the female in his embrace, but for the time being... it suddenly occurred to him that Karis needed to know that he had children. One of his children had disappeared... but his one daughter was still with him, at least, she was still at the other place he called home. He needed to introduce the two, but not now. Not when Karis was... emotionally uncontrolled.

"Shush, dearest. Cry yourself dry. I'm here," he soothed, trying to calm down by nuzzling Karis's cheek and hugging her tighter. He stroked her back with his tail, trying to comfort her. He was unused to such actions, but he supposed he could use the practice. His daughter constantly made fun of him, but he did love her dearly, and... he speculated for that moment... perhaps he could add another into his heart. "That inane brute shall not have his paws near you without me around! And I must find my brother. He is a gruff one, but he will keep you protected if I must leave. You mustn't be alone anymore." Chiyuki swore to himself this much, at least. His golden gaze was now staring off into the distance. He wasn't sure how hard he was hugging Karis, but he knew he was somewhat crushing her. Letting her go slightly so she could breathe, he continued to contemplate how he would go about destroying Azazel. No, destruction was far too nice. He needed a way to exact a proper vengeance.

Females like Karis were cute to play around with because they were innocent, but they were not to be tortured so emotionally to the point of breaking. Yuki realized he was guilty for a part of this, but he was not so twisted as Azazel. "My dear, let us go clean up." He licked a few tears off her face, and continued, "You need some peace and rest. I am here now, and I know that you will sleep more fitfully. Come now. A bath, possibly food, and then a place to stay, hmm?" Yes, Chiyuki thought, he needed to ensure that Karis was resting and safe before he went to hunt his stupid little brother. He never knew Kazuhiko was such a dunce as to even leave a female alone and unprotected. Yuki could only suspect that something had happened to his brother for him to leave Karis unattended for so long. Perhaps he had lost his bearings in the recent chaos of the lands... Kazuhiko was a decent hunter, but he sometimes had no sense of direction--especially during times like now. But first, Karis. "Would you like me to carry you, my dear?"

Emotions continued to roll and crash up on her like increasingly higher waves upon a shore before a typhoon lands. The first was relief. It might have made itself known through a huge sigh of relief and her body relaxing itself. When he hugged her to himself, the anxiety of having to tell him about it started to also leave. Her biggest fear was that he would be angry with her. That was what she most did not want. She had been fearing he'd get angry and take back all that about staying and leave forever. It had already felt like forever since he was last with her like this.

When he had hugged her almost to crushing, she nearly didn't feel it. Of course, her breath was shallowed then, but it had already been a bit from the crying and the typical breathing that came from being this close to him. The closeness of him all around her was almost intoxicating. It immediately began to drown out her concerns. Her every upsetting feeling trickling away like a stubborn frost after winter under a high warm afternoon sun. She was trying to think of what she should say. She only managed to whisper his name in what came out sounding full of love, need, and happiness. "Oh.. Yuki...."

The feel of him licking her tears away made her smile. There it was. The light of that love that burned so bright. That feeling which while being starved grew stronger. While neglected remained steadfast. It was likely the force which prevented her being corrupted. Sometimes the purest of hearts were the easiest to corrupt, but her love for Chiyukii was impervious to those sorts of things. Deep down for a long while, she wanted to believe that he loved her even if he couldn't say it or admit her. His jealous rages led her into a belief that couldn't be shaked or defied by anyone. If he was being possessive of her, that at least meant that he WANTED her to belong to him.

At this suggestion of bathing, eating and rest, she wordlessly obeyed. She knew she didn't really need to be carried at all, but his offer was far too sweet to refuse. "YES! I want to be carried. I want you to carry me for forever." Then, she blushed with embarrassment. How silly.. he obviously couldn't carry her forever. What a silly thing to say. While she was trying to get up and move, she just embraced on him with all her might. "I missed you so much. I would do anything... anything at all... if you're there with me. I love you. I need you. Please don't go and find anyone or do anything just yet. Please... can you just stay for a bit... with me. Just you and me." That was all that mattered really.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 23, 2013 6:38 pm

As Karis embraced him, a smile won over him as he chuckled at Karis. She still managed to bring joy to him even when he was angry. "I cannot promise forever, my dear Karis, but for this journey, I shall carry you until we find some place." Stretching slightly to loosen stiff muscles, he remained in place to allow Karis to climb on. The poor thing was so happy just to be with him, and Yuki's ego merely increased more.

"Ah, but I must make one thing clear," Yuki declared as he waited for Karis, "you are mine, my dear. My brother may try to convince you otherwise, and that other... brute... may also, but you are mine. I claimed you long before either of them laid eyes on you, as far as I know." Yuki wasn't exactly sure why he was admitting such possessiveness, but he figured it couldn't hurt. Karis had always been his the moment he had chosen to "take care" of her as it was, so it didn't matter if he told Karis.

From what he could see, it would merely make her that much more devoted to him, and being who he was, Yuki loved it. Mentally shaking his mind to focus, he scented the air to choose a direction he would start in, and nodded a bit to himself. "Well, what are you waiting for, Karis dear? Climb on. We have quite a way to go, and I don't wish to lose daylight--for your sake, dear, not mine. I can see at night quite well, but for my personal comfort, I want you safely tucked away where I know you'll be within my hearing and I can scent you." Chiyuki was now in his element. He was a hunter.

And a very good one at that.

There it was, front and center! That word.... MINE. To some, that word might make them cringe and wanna respond with rebellion and contradiction. For any male to hear another say that, it sounded like a challenge. To Karis, it sounded like a synonym for something else she interpreted it as. She smiled brightly with high cheekbones. Her eyes danced as she looked at him. "OF COURSEEEEE!"

Her mind could immediately recall plenty of claiming, and it warmed her cheeks. In fact, those memories quickened a sping up onto the top of his back where she sat and fidgeted around to find a way to sit that wouldn't impede his legs. She wrapped her arms and paws around his neck to hold on tight. She licked at the edge of his ear and kissed the back of his head. Her voice was so quiet, it was almost inaudible whisper. Since she was so close to his ears, she knew he would hear. "I loved you the first time I met you. I fell in love with you after you claimed me the first time. After the first winter we spent together, I was happy to worship and adore you for the rest of my life."

She was happy to allow him to take her anywhere really. She wondered if he intended to take her to bath at the nearby watering hole, but that might be awkward. In front of everyone? Wouldn't that be a little.... ostentatious? Hmm.. but if he was feeling a need to make it clear she belonged to him; maybe he just might consider that. As he sped off carrying her, she purred into the back of his neck. She held on for all her worth.

Karis had gotten light, he noted as he took off at a semi-fast pace. He wasn't going to run just yet, but he might have to climb, so he hoped Karis could hold on. At the moment, she appeared to not want to let go at all; this amused him, but Chiyuki put the thought aside as he looked all around among the chaos of the lands. "Now, m'dear, don't get too carried away," he chided gently. He needed Karis's extra pair of eyes to be on the lookout for any places that could be deemed safe for eating, sleeping, and other activities.

He didn't want to try for the watering hole; it was far too crowded. However, he knew he'd have to mark Karis as his at some point, so he would have to figure out a way so that others would know and stay away from her. Besides that, he wondered how his family was faring, and how his daughter was holding up. He hadn't seen any of them in some several seasons. His wandering ways often caused this to happen, but Chiyuki normally checked in with him blood relatives to ensure they were safe, happy, and alive.

His golden gaze soon spotted a nice, tiny clearing that was close to a trickling, miniature pond. He noted that the upending of lands had also created a nice little burrow; a familiar place for Karis, most likely, and he nodded in satisfaction. There was enough game and vegetation in the area to survive for a little while--for how long, he wasn't sure--but enough until they have to move on once more. By now, he was pretty sure Karis was tiring and needed a bit of rest, anyway.

She felt some relief that he hadn't gone to that big main watering hole many ulaya seemed to be populating these days. She wasn't for sure he had more intimate intentions, but if this was to be like any other previous happy reunion. She was assuming that'd come along sometime between their now and a few days. While she wasn't the least bit ashamed or embarrassed to be with him in such a public way; she also really enjoyed their time privately, away from curious or nosey eyes.

She went from relieved to elated when she opened her eyes to peer about them as he walked them into that little burrowed area. It was like a perfect little gem. Ever since the lands had started changing; she found herself missing the old stream that ran by her old thicket. This might not have been exactly the same, but it appealed to her sensibilities all the same. When she felt like he had paused, she slid down off of his back. She went to sit by the little pond. She cautiously dabbed a paw in it to feel its temperature. Seeing that it was not too hot or too cold, she put both of her front paws in it for a while. Then, she just laid on her side by the water. The longer she sat in there. The more she liked it.

Her eyes watched Chiyuki, and for the first time she had the shadow of a question growing in her mind. While she knew his brother Kazuhiko, she wondered if there were others she didn't know. Did she want to know them? She mused to herself that it might be best to know them; or they should at least know her? Or, maybe they knew of her already? She feared if they would not like her? What if they hated her and tried to convince Yuki to leave his precious little zealot behind? She wasn't sure she liked this line of thoughts and just smiled up at him. She wondered if he found this place for her before he came for her.

"How did you know this spot was here? Or... did my great and mighty Chiyuki make it just for me?" Deeper still in her heart, she hoped saying something like that out loud wouldn't earn her the ire of any greater dieties out there.
