There is excitement running through the air, a tingling excitement that seemed to pass from one person to the next. Did you hear? There is a traveling troupe on the outskirts of their village! An event like this was rare and a good reason to have spirits lifted and smiles on the faces of everyone. Seeing strange new people from far off lands, to watch them perform feats of strength, agility and uncanny abilities gave a sort of holiday to the hard working people in town.

But rather than going off to investigate these new strange people, Eira is stuck at home. A very important item was lost. Though it didn't belong to her (rather her half brother Makani), it was a necklace that belong to his mother, and now it's gone. But where could it have gone? It couldn't have gotten too far... scouring high and low it seemed a hopeless cause until Eria spots it hanging from the mouth of a radaku which was wearing a strange necktie around its throat. It had a strange symbol on it and could be recognized as the same as the ones flown from banners of the traveling troupe. The creature seems wary and bolts, necklace still dangling from its jaws.

It had been just a short time ago that Eira was completely and utterly excited by what it was that that was going on their village today. There was a traveling troupe that had come by visiting them, preparing to put on some shows for the village, and it was rather... exciting! She wanted to see them, get a feel for what was needed to be in such a group, and she wanted to be a member of such a troupe one day. She had dressed in her nicest clothing, did her hair up in a cute, braided up do, was ready to go out, watch them, and take mental notes about what it was that she was going to become one day. It was all planned out, she was readying to leave the house, when a sound like a shriek escaped from her brother. A startling and horrible sound, a sound that she had never heard before. Were it a short time ago she might not have even bother to check what it was, she would have run off to see the troupe instead, but now... now was different. She sort of bounced in place for a moment before hurrying over to where her brother was.

Much to her shock it would seem that his necklace had gotten lost. Were it any other necklace it wouldn't have been all that important but knowing what it was, a necklace that belonged to the boy's mother, she felt her heart drop. Just like Makani, Eira had a necklace that was precious to her, just as his necklace was the only memento that he had from his mother her was one that she had been given by her mother. If she had lost her necklace she was pretty well certain that it would be the end of the world. The necklace needed to be found, that was far more important then her need to go and see the troupe, she could see that another time after all. The two of them searched inside, searched outside, walked several circles around their house, before the sound of Flurry's voice drew her attention. Pulled away from the search to look up at the icy colored sprite, then looked in the direction that he was pointing, "What is it, Flurry?" She asked, then gave a jerked, "A-Ahh...? Huh?"

Standing there, with the glittering, multicolored necklace in its mouth, was some sort of strange beast that she had never seen before, "W-What... what is that?" She murmured, taking a step forward toward it and said in a demanding tone, "You give that back you thieving little..." Her words trailed off as the beast turned on its heel and rushed off, necklace still in its grasp. A rather displeased sound escaped from her before she stomped a foot, "Thieving jerk!" She cried out, then turned to look over at where Makani was standing, "Go into the house! I will get it back!" She told him before she raced after the beast. She had no idea what it was but she knew where it was likely heading given what it was wearing. The little thief... if it didn't give that necklace back straight away she was going to have her father turn that thing into a pair of boots! Raging as she followed after it, muttering about how women shouldn't be forced to run, Eira did her best to keep up with the Radaku with Flurry following after her in turn. It was likely a strange looking procession for sure for anyone that might see them all run by...

The radaku almost seemed bemused at the girl shouting angry words at it, as well the amusing image of her running behind it. Trinket still in its mouth it was a agile creature treating this chase like a game as it wouldn't let the girl get too close, and when it allowed her to get close enough it would dart forward with a sudden burst of energy and speed. There was of course nothing funny about this situation for the girl but the animal itself was having a blast.

Quickly though it was tiring of the game, the snow was cold on its feet and it didn't really enjoy being frozen stiff. So it now made its way in a more focused and determined fashion to 'home'.

Home consisted of tents, and a caravan. The people who belonged to this troupe had already cleared the snow in a large rind in the middle to allow for practicing as well gatherings. The neckerchief around the radaku's through were the same colors as the flags that were posted about representing the troupes trademarks.

Giving one last look behind it, the radaku slipped into and amongst the tents and caravans, quickly becoming hard to spot. No one seemed to give it any mind, obviously they were use to the creatures presence. Several 'guards' or heavy muscle were about making sure no one tried anything funny on the outskirts of the encampment.

There was more then a couple of times that Eira nearly fell over, not used to dealing with so much running in the slippery snow. There were a few times she felt that she was getting closer to the thieving beast only to have it put on an extra burst of speed to get ahead of her once more, something that had her cursing under her breath. Stupid beast, when she got a hold of it she was going to wrap her hands around it scaly neck and squeeze! Never mind having her father kill the thing, she'd just do it herself! A good thread but likely nothing she'd go through with, not the sort that wanted to get her hands dirty even in the least bit.

"Ugh... stupid thing..." She muttered, chest heaving as they got to the caravan. She squatted down for a moment, hands resting on her knees, as she tried to catch her breath, "Ahh... ugh... Flurry... can you try to keep up with it? I will follow along in a moment." She said, sending her icy blue sprite along after the creature. Once she was able to catch her breath, telling herself that she really needed to get into shape, she was pushing herself upright, looking around the area, trying to figure out where the creature had gotten off to. It had to be one of theirs, the thing around its neck bore the same symbol as the flags that they had planted. Was that their plan? To have their beasts go around stealing things while they were performing? It was one way to get extra income but that didn't mean that she was any happier about the idea. If anything she found it to be quite grating! She was so excited to see these people, see their act, and it turned out that they were...

Her thoughts trailed off for a moment as she spotted the guards that were protecting the place. She shifted in place a moment, a thoughtful look on her face, before she walked over to one, giving them her best 'damsel in distress' look, then said, "Is there anyway I can get you help?" She asked sweetly, "An odd creature with a handkerchief took something important from me and I lost tract of it... if I don't get that necklace back I don't know what I will do..." She said, lifting a hand to her mouth while her eyes flooded with tears. If there was one thing she was good at it was this.

The guard addressed had been one of many to be hired that were known for their brawn but not necessarily their brains. And older brute of a man with for arms the size of thick tree trunks, and scars littering his tanned body. If anyone was to guess he appeared to be from the Wind tribe.

As the young girl had approached he had been sneaking glances at her, even under all that clothing her feminine 'charm' could hardly be missed. Now that she approached and was speaking to him a look of hunger seem to gleam in his eyes.

"Little lady this is no place for you to be." Came his rumbling response, though he was still rather obviously drooling over her physique. A guard stationed about ten feet away seem to have noticed the girl as well. This one however was younger, a five o'clock shadow on his face that seemed to be his attempt at looking gruff and more menacing, although it only made him look unkept.

"A creature you say? I saw one pass by only moments ago." He called out, obviously not wanting to leave his post, but wanting to flirt just the same. The older man removed his look from Eira only to case a glare onto the younger man.

"Korchuk stay out of it." The words were an order, not a request as he returned his look to the young girl.

"You say you lost something precious? How will we know your not lying to us just to get a sneak at the show for free?"

PostPosted: Tue Jul 23, 2013 9:03 am
Eira gazed up at the man that told her this was no place for her and she gave a nod of her head, "I know, I wouldn't be bothering you if it wasn't so important, I assure you." She told him, not wanting to get underfoot exactly, nor did she normally approach strange men, leaving it up to them to approach her, but she would deal with it for just this once. Later though she would return to teasing the prentice boys of her village to make up for it she thought to herself before turning to look at the other guard who was calling out to her.

She gave the man a smile, "Why thank you, do you know where he might have gone... Korchuk, was it?" She asked sweetly of him before turning back to the older guard when it seemed that was trying to chase the other off with orders, something that she couldn't help but to find more then a little amusing. Now that was better, instead of telling her that this was no place for her to be it seemed that now he was trying to chase off the competition. She was actually a little relieved, she was starting to think that all of the men she was chatting up of late were going to end up 'like that' and it wasn't very good for a girl's ego.

When the man started to question her she nodded her head, "Yes, a necklace of various colors, it's quite important, I don't think I will sleep until it's found." Mostly because Makani would be crying until he got the item back but the hulking brute didn't need to know that, "Eh? Lying to get into the show for free? You wound me... I was actually planning to come later, sure, but then tragedy struck... so if I am unable to find the necklace I won't be able to see the show either..." She said, as though just realizing this, something that caused her eyes to go watery again at the thought, "Seems nothing is going right today." She sniffled, glancing between the two guards as though hoping they could help her to fix the things that were going so terribly wrong.

It seemed as though the larger man was having a hard time not giving in to the young woman's water eyes and heaving bosom, after all it was his job to keep the area secure and he couldn't let allow himself to be distracted by any pretty face that happened to walk by. It seemed as if he was going to tell the young woman to leave, instead gruffly he turned away angling towards the younger man a unimpressed ingrained into his features. As if he was annoyed that he had to do something besides his job of breaking bones.

"Korchuk..you say you saw this creature?"

The young man seemed startled to be addressed, after all it seemed as if he had been dismissed from the conversation. Looking around as if he was unsure it was actually him being spoken to he then trotted over leaving his post. As if thunderheads were gathering over the older guards head he cracked his knuckles, the bones popping as he did so.

"Yeah I saw it not too long ago, hey isn't that Frea..." The younger man had started the words all but dying out when he caught the look being cast in his direction. Clearing his through he shifted and then fiddled with the weapon that was strapped to his side.

"Ah..."

"You take the girl to Lyriala understand? The girl can deal with Lyriala and we can go back to our duties.."

The young man went quiet whoever Lyriala was it seemed that they were fairly imposing or important. Nodding his head Korchuk turned and gestured for Eira to follow him.

"We better be quick."

At this point if Eira had a tail it would likely be wagging, how she loved it when she was able to get the help she needed by summoning up some tears. Men really were simple creatures, but it was what she liked about them, how they could be led about if you allowed them to think themselves the hero. She glanced between the two guards as they seemed to be deciding what to do before it appeared as though the younger of the two guards, Korchuk, would be leading her to her next stop. Someone named Lyriala that was able to make both of these powerful guards look a bit intimidated, how interesting. Already she was trying to picture what this Lyriala must looked like, someone big, muscular, and as powerful as her father she bet. It take a man like that to cow two men the size of these guards she was sure.

Lifting a hand she rested it lightly against the arm of the older guard, "Thank you very much, this means the world to me." She said, smiling up at him through her tears, before she followed after Korchuk. As the two of them walked along at a quickened pace toward their destination she lifted an arm to rub her eyes against her sleeves, clearing up the tears, before her attention was on Korchuk, a curious look in her eyes now, "Who is Lyriala?" She asked of him as they walked, best that she was prepared for whatever it was that she was walking into. She could only hope that this Lyriala knew of the beast that stole Makani's necklace and where she could find said beast. She also found herself hoping that wherever it was that Flurry was able to keep up, she didn't want the little sprite getting lost after all. Though given he could fly high into the air to orientate himself she supposed that getting lost was the least of Flurry's concerns.

The older guard gave the girl a strange look, the smilest of smiles on his lips before the pair went off. As they moved inwards the activity going on inside the ring of caravans became more evident. There were many many different kinds of people here, some from the north and others the south. Partners were performing their duets, the sound of music starting and stopping filled the air, and as they walked there wasn't a single person who didn't stop to curiously look at the young girl being led by Korchuk.

The young man looked embarrassed and proud that he was escorting such a beautiful young woman around. At her question he gave a pause as if trying to think of the best way to describe Lyriala.

"Well I guess the best way to describe Lyriala is to..."

"NO NO NO, I told you you must sweep back on that beat then come forward to pick her up. Do I have to show you the step again?!"

A woman's rather loud and imposing voice erupted into the air, the music that had been playing stopped and even Korchuk flinched at the tone being used.

"Meet...her." The guard managed to complete his sentence although it was much quieter than it had been originally. The woman in question, Lyriala was a strong proud looking woman who was from the leaf tribe. Her hair pulled back into a tight pony tail there was hardly anything feminine about her at all. She was in the middle of instructing a shifter pair who were doing a dance and it seemed that practice was not going at all well.

Half turning she caught sight of Korchuk and Eira and looked..rather displeased, though there was a smile on her face if a grim one as she promptly dismissed the two she had been working with saying they needed a break and to be back quickly. Walking towards Eira you could tell the woman was eying her, looking her over before she turned her attention to the young man.

"Well Korchuk, who is this...lovely lass you have found? Come to join the troupe have you?" Though she had started the conversation addressing the guard it quickly turned to Eira as if she didn't expect Korchuk to even answer her question.

Eira turned as she heard the voice shouting at others, her yellow eyes going a bit wide, then she groaned internally. A woman? It would have to be a woman she thought to herself, having had an easy time up until this point in that she had only had to deal with a pair of male guards. Having to deal with a woman though, that was always something that she was loathe to do because in her mind they were nothing be competition. Still, if this was the one that she had to talk to about that rogue beast that belonged to this caravan then so be it. She would get that necklace back no matter if she had to find and strangle that beast with her own bare hands, something that was a distinct possibility after the creature had made her do something a horrible as run about. Running was for men and children, damn it, and Eira was neither!

As the woman turned to look at them, addressing first the man that had brought her here and then Eira herself, asking questions of them both. It seemed though as though she had no real interest in the answer that Korchuk might give though. Eira found herself giving pause for a moment at the question that was posed to her, had she come to join the troupe? Now there was a tempting offer, one that almost had her saying yes... before she recalled what it was that she was really doing there, something that had her shaking her head, "No, I am looking for a beast that seems to live her." She explained, giving a quick description of the creature in question, as well as the bandana it wore around it's neck, "Korchuk here said that he'd seen it and it's important that I find it, it stole something important that I need to get back." She explained, wishing that she could in fact join the troupe, even if for a little bit, wanting to learn from them. That wasn't meant to be though, not when it was a beast from this particular troupe that had stolen from her family after all.

"If I could get even a point in the right direction as to where I might find the little thief it would make my day go a whole lot better." Because it would mean that she would have to chance to come back later when things were open, to watch the shows and have fun, as opposed to running about all day trying to find a stolen necklace.

It seemed that the man was eager to get away at this point, as Lyriala had completely ignored him and was now paying full attention to the young woman in front of her. As if silently appraising her without permission before finally responding to the woeful tale that was spun out for her.

"Sounds like Radaz's beast," Lyriala began as she silently cursed under her breath. "I will strangle that kid.."

Shaking her head she gave a dismissive wave to Korchuk before turning and gesture for Eira to follow. "You will have to convince the boy his pet stole it. He denies teaching the creature the art of thievery and is very possessive of him. " The woman began as they walked through the tents where people lived their lives outside of practice.

"A shame though, you'd have made a fine addition to the troupe with a body like yours I am sure you would have brought in quite an audience." It was suppose to be a compliment, although the wording felt a bit shallow.

Strangle that kid? So the beast belonged to some brat?! Her day just seemed to be getting worse and worse she thought to herself, feeling the growing desire to strangle the kid along with his thieving little pet. How she found herself disliking animals and children nearly as much as she disliked women... maybe more so. Bah, she was never wanted either one of them she thought to herself as she followed along after the ringmaster of the troupe. It seemed that she was going to have to convince some kid that his pet had stolen the necklace, huh? She supposed that she could do it the nice way or she could go toss him into a snow drift, either one would work out just fine by Eira at this point.

As the woman praised her body and about how Eira would have brought in quite the audience the Ice Tribeswoman gave a bit of a smirk, "I am sure that I would have done just that, but I need to worry about the necklace first before I am able to do anything fun." She said, pleased as anything by the compliment. It might have been a shallow sort of thing to be pleased over but that was just how Eira was, she loved compliments and to have a woman of all people having to admit to such about thing about Eira was just plain wonderful! What a wonderful, glorious day... well... aside from the necklace theft and the fact that she wasn't able to do anything fun until she got it back. Aside from that though it was great.

"So, if I can convince that kid, Radaz was it, that his pet stole the necklace you think that he will actually make the beast give it back? Or should I take your strangling suggestion seriously?"

It seemed the older woman was smirking just the same as the question was asked, after all in her mind the kid could learn some manners. Though as they walked it was easy to tell that they were moving away from the crowded parts of the troupe ring and it wasn't long before they were coming upon the boy in question.

Half turning she gave Eira a serious look,
"I cannot allow you to hurt any of the people who work under me, we have a long tradition of fostering the orphans, and those who are down on their luck." The gruff look though melted into a smirking smile, "though I could make an exception with this one...the kid's a brat." A sigh as she suddenly barked a command to the young boy who had spotted her and the young gir, and was trying to sneak off without anybody noticing.

"Radaz! Front and center. NOW."

The young boy cringed at being caught and, dragging his feet, managed to do as asked. Looking like a child who was troubled, he avoided their gazes as he kicked the dirt at the ground.

"I believe this young woman has something important to discuss with you, Radaz." Lyriala began as she then turned and started to walk away, "He's all yours, if he runs I'll have every body guard at my disposal hunt him down for you again."

Eira was probably happier then she should be when she was told that this kid was the exception tot he rule when it came to those that she could and could not harm that were a part of this troupe. It made it all that more tempting to just give the kid a swift kick in the a** for letting his weird looking pet steal from people... well, not people, just her family really. Was it anyone else that the beast had stolen from she wouldn't have cared in the least bit. Because it was Makani and because she would be stuck listening to him cry for an eternity it was something that she had to deal with. Such a bother really...

Her attention turned to the one called Radaz as he was called out, watching the manner in which he came over to them, dragging his feet, looking anywhere but at them, kicking at the ground. Lyriala told Eira that the boy was all hers before walking off, probably back to those two she'd been working with before. Eira turned her full attention back to Radaz, starring down at him for a long moment, then gave a sighing sound, "Look kid, how about I cut right to the chase since I am sure that neither of us want to be here. That beast of yours, weird looking creature with four legs, a long tail, and sharp teeth, it took something important and I want it back. Make that beast cough up the necklace and you can go on your merry way and rob any other people save for my family blind for all I care." Eira was only a little bit selfish.
