From the sky fell a small object. From such a height the curious shape could of surely killed someone if it had landed on them as it fell with such speed. The golden kelpi's eyes flashed wide, he let out a snarl as the object blinded him once it fell past his face. The gleam of the sun reflecting off of it's surface catching his eyes.
Throwing his head back and making an irritated growl, he immediately shot his gaze down at the thing that just missed him. He even felt the force of it like it really had hit his nose. It was silver, one end was round and attached to it was a long, thin handle. Well, what was it? Was it a weapon? Was somebody watching him? Bake snapped his head away to glance to the sloppy, barren woodland that surrounded his swamp.
There wasn't a soul in sight. Not even a monster of the depths he had countlessly come in contact with and had to fight off of his territory. He halted his paranoid thoughts of an invasion tactic to take time to actually realize that the object had fallen from the sky. Finally his gaze lifted, slowly, cautiously to see what had dropped the mysterious gadget. Preparing for an air assault he crouched in to a position he could leap from if something was to attack him and continued to stare in to the blue ocean that hung above.

Iolani was pleased with her new treasure; she didn't know what it was, but she was eager to bring it home and inspect it more. The two-leggers had plenty, so surely they wouldn't miss just one, right? Her curiosity got the better of her and she looked down at the shiny thing in her claws as she flew, squinting at it as if somehow that would reveal all its secrets to her. What she didn't see what the hawk flying past her, and it squaked indignantly as she almost flew into it; she did her best to maneuver around him, but in doing so the shiny object fell from her claws and to the ground below. She gasped as she felt it slip away, and she immediately circled back around in the sky to look for it.
She folded her wings against her body to dive down, but when Iolani went to spread them again to land in a glide, one of them knocked into the side of a tree. She yelped, her balance thrown off as she tumbled down the rest of the way, landing directly into a group of bushes. Iolani groaned, remaining still for a moment as she caught her breath, and then pushed herself up and stumbled out of the bushes. She shook her head and ruffled her feathers to get rid of any leaves and twigs stuck in her mane, sneezed once, and then sighed and looked around the area.
Iolani's eyes first fell on the object she'd dropped, and she visibly perked up with a smile. "My shiny!" she said, taking a few steps forward -- and then quickly halted in her tracks. Her eyes went wide as she stared at the finned soquili standing by her shiny. Uh oh. Did he want to keep it? "Um, hello!" she ventured, hoping that being friendly would help to get her shiny back. "I didn't land in your home, did I? I guess you'd be more comfortable in water, though..."

Bake was right to assume he was under Ariel pursuit. Staring in to the air, a huge bird lunged downcast from the sky towards his general area. He bared his fangs at the figure and let out a thunderous growl to warn the creature he wouldn't tolerate the threat of an attack.
The creature had fallen victim to fault, when spreading it's wings he observed it had clipped one on a nearby tree and this allowed his expression to slip back to it's normal not-amused composure. Keeping his eyes on it as it tumbled straight in to bushes directly across from where he stood.
He lifted a brow and took a step toward the bushes, leaning his head forward to try spy a hasty glimpse of what sort of bird it could be to have been so large. It made a noise and he froze, waiting for the moment it would reveal itself.
Finally, it poked it's head up first and then the rest of it's body followed in a far less than graceful fashion. He internally kicked himself that he had felt threatened by such a pitiful thing. Noticing her interest wasn't directly set on him but the object that had flown past his face with force earlier.
He looked down at the shiny object, placing the tip of his hoof on it, then flicked his gaze calmly back to the mare. Making a grunt in reply to her greeting.
"Your observation skills are impeccable." He muttered, sarcastically. "Did you want this?" He asked, curiously, tapping the spoon with the tip of his hoof several times to direct her attention to it.
Up close, she wasn't much of a bird at all. Other than her feet and wings and extra sets of feathers, the rest of her body was generally the vision of a normal soquili and she was a mare at that.

"Oh, thank you!" Iolani chirped, completing missing the sarcasm in the other soquili's tone. She had been a little worried he wouldn't be friendly, at first -- he looked like a grumpy stallion -- but at least he wasn't trying to steal her shiny from her. She all but beamed at him, the feathers on her head folding and spreading as she moved closer to him. "Yes! I dropped it while I was flying. It's really interesting, isn't it? Have you ever seen anything like it? I got it from the two-leggers, but I don't know what they use them for. If you look in the bigger end you can sort of see yourself, like when you look in water, but it's all blurry and weird. Do you want to try?" She asked, excited and eager to show off her new prize, and why not start with the fish-looking stallion?

Bake was deciding what route this meeting would take. His eyes were held directly on her and he hesitated to make a move or any form of gesture so that he couldn't give away an indication to his thoughts or his intentions for her. Not that he was worried she would take the hint and fly off to safety, this one didn't seem as though she knew what was going on even if it hit her in the face!
A smirk twisted at the corner of his lips. She would be an easy victim but there was something that would pose a challenge, her oblivious nature may end up coming back to bite him on the rear. After all, she may twist any insults or disapprovals he would have of her, in to a positive nature. Like she just had with his sarcasm.
He watched her creep closer to him, all her energy very sickening to him. He wasn't paying much attention to what she was saying but one thing that did catch his ear was that big round end, which she claimed held a reflection like the water. Now, this was trickery. Black magic. It had to be. She was delving in to evil witchcraft.
And it wasn't lost on him. He had seen the walkers and their followers in the swamp treading through to the open land...
He snarled, stepping away from the object, shaking his hoof violently in case he had been cursed or infected by some form of dark energy. "Show me." It was nothing less than a demand and if she was willing to risk contact with the object then so be it, it was her funeral!
