Sin'qua
First there was her brother bringing home that girl and her brother, then there was the time he was trying to sneak out of the house with ..something in his pack. Sure mother didn't notice...but that day father was out in a snow storm so she supposed she couldn't blame her for being oblivious, she would need to make up for that. So when her brother walked back to his room he would be surprised to find her already in his room laying on his bed. Idly fiddling with the cloth he had used to oil the lute earlier that day. Her face was crinkled when she smelt the cloth before discarding it back onto his bed.
Looking over to her brother who looked surprised to see her on his bed she gave a lazy smile.
"So..mother may not of noticed but I can't help but see you having something poking out of your sack."
Lifting a hand she was pointing at him though it could of been taking either way she meant the lute that was hiding rather poorly.

To say that he was surprised to see her there was an understatement. Though he missed the innuendo he still felt himself try and hide the arm that was sticking out of the sack though it was obviously too late.
"What are you doing in my room Sin'qua?" Borra inquired instead trying to do his best to smile and hope she wouldn't ask what it was that he was carrying around with him. It wasn't that he didn't want Sin'qua to know...she just had a habit of telling him that his idea's were stupid.
"Hey! Maybe when the storm dies down we could go play in it! I am sure Baroke would like to get out of the shed."

Sin'qua
The young woman rolled partially onto her side watching him with a raised eyebrow as if the answers to his questions should be rather obvious. "I am here because I am bored and I want to know what your doing." came the girls response. It was a half truth, she was bored, bored enough to come snooping in her brothers business. But if he was going to try and force her to make friends then she was going to get into his business.
"Don't be stupid. You know I don't like to do that stuff. Next time you try and invite me to your little play dates...leave me out of it." Sin'qua responded sounding rather irritated. "Now..what are you hiding? Or do I need to go tell mother that you are up top something?" It was a threat she used often on her brother, since he was prone to getting into trouble she had grown up with the use of tattling on him to get what she wanted to know. It wasn't as effective as it had been when they were younger...but it still seemed to do the trick.

Borra
That accusing stare, as if he was doing something bad or wrong. And why would she make it sound like that? It didn't make any sense to him, but she wasn't about leave his room until she was satisfied with what he had to say. Sisters...
"Its nothing important, just ..something I found in storage." He managed with a shrug of his shoulder.
"And why won't you come with us? I am sure you'd like Eira! And her little brother is adorable! You really need to get out more Sin'qua its not healthy for you to be stuck inside all the time with only family to talk to." Perhaps it was too obvious that he was trying to change the subject and...standing ..rather awkwardly in the doorway to his room was bound to be suspicious so he took a tentative step inwards.

Sin'qua
Giving a sigh she sat up on the bed before crossing her legs over the edge. Her brother was very tiresome at times. Leaning on a hand she gave him a incredulous look.
"Borra, don't start. You know I have no interest in making friends. or 'palling around' with your...big breasted 'friend'. You know she is just using you right? A go to baby sitter for her brother is all you are to her. " Sin'qua was just bitter at the fact that Eira was a very pretty girl, she didn't really care what she did with her brother.
"Now show me what is in the bag Borra. Before I loose my patience."

His eyes widened at his sister's rather blunt description of Eira, and his face reddened slightly. "Don't say mean things like that, Eira said I had great potential." He kicked a foot against the floor obviously bothered by the idea that Eira was only using him as a go to baby sitter. Shaking his head he wasn't going to believe her obviously but it was still nagging thought.
Sighing he moved over to the bed, Sin'qua liked having her way and somehow she always managed to manipulate him into doing what she wanted. Sitting down he carefully removed the precious cargo from the bag and then carefully unwrapped it. Revealing the old worn out piece of musical equipment.
"See? isn't it amazing? I broke the string though...I was going to see about getting it fixed in the village. Someone must know how to fix it."

Whatever if her brother wasn't going to open his eyes about the girl she wasn't going to stop him from becoming a chest staring zombie for the girl to order about. She had seen how Eira acted when she was over with her brother. Trying to be all sexy and coy, good thing her brother was too dumb to fall for it.
"Fine, you have fun on your little play dates, just keep me out of it." Came her snide reply as she then watched as he uncovered the instrument. She had been expecting something a bit more...epic. But given it was her brother...she shouldn't of been that surprised that he was so excited over a broken lute.
"Why do you care about that piece of junk? You don't even know how to play so why bother fixing it." She scoffed looking bored again and contemplating even going back to her room.

Pursing his lips he looked at his sister in a conflicted manner, after all she had just declared this treasure junk. But didn't she see how loved it was? And he broke it so he had to fix it.
"This was treasured by someone once, look how worn the paint is." Borra tried to explain it to her, moving it gingerly in her direction. Hoping maybe she just needed to get a better look at it to see just how precious it was. " the wood is so smooth, almost like hands had handled it to the point of wearing it down. I just have to get it fixed and maybe mother will tell me who's it belongs to. Maybe one of our deceased grandparents? It seems old enough." He commented with a slow not of his head.

Junk was junk, no matter how he tried to make it seem like something special. Sighing she looked to him and then rolled onto her back. "IF if belonged to our grandparents if it was stuffed into storage I can't imagine it was anything worth noting. " Although looking upside down at her brother she wondered just how immature he could be.
well he if was obsessing over that stupid lute than he was ...fairly immature.

She..had an irritating point. If it was something that belonged to their family why was something this special just gathering dust in their storage? The young man frowned trying not to let her words bother her and yet he couldn't help it.
"I still think its pretty neat...I am not sure why you can't see that." He muttered looking over the item again his fingers moving over the worn wood that he had oiled.

Watching her brother with the instrument she wished she had some means of taking it away from him without actually having to move around and do it herself. To snatch it away from him...and even just play keep away for a couple moments was still too much effort. So instead she sighed and rolled back onto her stomach.
"Well you should probably tell mother or father about it. And if you don't I will." It was a subtle threat, after all she was after something, how much did her brother not want their parents to know he was rummaging around their stuff in storage?

Borra
Borra had been trying to pluck a couple of the strings, only to discover that it was still horrendously out of tune. Though his fingers stilled as his sister brought up a fact he was trying to ignore. That he should tell mom and dad about his discovery. Looking over his eyes wide in fear, he shook his head and held the lute closer to his body.
"No! If you tell them they will probably take it away, I want to try and learn how to use it first, come on Sin'qua don't squeal on me.... I'll do just about anything!" The young man begged, even if his sister was a year older than him she always took any opportunity to black mail him, she was a lazy woman...and he had grown to accept that though he was never that bitter about how she treated him.

A slow smile spread across her face, he always seemed to know the right words to say, but even then she examined her nails before she went to sit up on his bed, fingers now tucking into the animal hair that was the skin on his bed. It was soft and warm, their father had hunted it and though she could admire the skill it took to do such things...the work going into tanning the hide and making the blankets to keep them warm...she would much rather have someone else do it than her.
"Well....if you will do anything..." She drawled looking her brother squarely in the face a smirk forming. "Then I want you to go my chores for the next couple of months."

Chewing his lower lip he knew it was coming, after all this wasn't new to him, she was always looking for a reason to have him do her chores for him and if she could keep him under her thumb then she would do it. Some how he wasn't angry about it, Sin'qua was his sister and she was family even if she was a bully towards him, and though he shouldn't let her bully him some part of him didn't really mind or care.
Borra wasn't the type to dwell on things, he liked to be happy and being happy meant not lingering on the things that bothered him. Some day that may come back to bite him, but for now he would agree to do her chores if it meant he could have his lute kept a secret. If that was one thing...Sin'qua was a girl of her word, she wouldn't say anything as long as Borra kept his side of the bargain.
"Alright...two..months. But..won't mom be suspicious? Dad will know..."

As predicted he agreed without any hassle or further threats, her brother knew the game, new how to play it and knew she would keep her word. Smiling she nodded her head and then she looked up sharply. Perhaps being as lazy as she was she had honed in on the skill of hearing, that way she was always one step ahead of people who wanted to lecture her for being how she was.
If that was one thing about Borra she could appreciate...was that he never ever got on her case about her laziness. In fact he never mentioned it, or commented on it....sometimes it made her feel bad when she black mailed him to do things for her.
Still...getting up quickly and without a word she moved to the door of Borra's room. Tossing a glare at her brother and a gesture of her hand to indicate he needed to hide the lute.
