Doyle walked up the stairs to the floor with the battle arena. He had agreed to practice with Genesis. Auron needed to battle and apparently Parth did too. The two pokemon worked well together so it was time to see how well they did when acting as opponents. Walking into the practice area he saw he was first to arrive. He grabbed Auron's pokeball and let him out. "Time to battle." He said. The zorua had immediately appeared in the illusion form of a Bidoof.

Genesis smiled when she saw Doyle had reached the stadium ahead of her, glad she didn't have to be the one waiting this time around. Without another word, she threw her Poké Ball onto the field and, as usual, leaned back and allowed her Pokémon to battle as she pleased.
Parthenius growled playfully when she was released, recognizing her opponent. She'd worked with Auron enough to know his style and the way his body moved, and knew immediately that the Bidoof was nothing more than an illusion.
"<Really? A Bidoof?>" she said, amused.

"<You don't have to play tricks with me, you know,>" Parthenius continued, stepping close enough to feel his breath on her muzzle. She was so familiar with him that she thought she could see his true form past the guise, but she knew him well enough to know that his illusion would not waver.

"It's about time you showed up." Doyle said. If anyone had been passing by they may have thought he was complaining but those who knew him would know that he was only teasing Gen. He watched as Parthenius appeared and began the battle. Surely Auron would know what to do.
Auron calmly watched Parth as she talked to him. Clearly he couldn't talk back but he did tilt his head at her as if confused. He knew better than to drop the illusion unless he was commanded to or was unable to due to an attack hitting.
Instead he ignored her pleading and closed his eyes. He began to calm himself to counter what she was trying to do.

Parthenius pressed closer to him. He could hide his visage, but he could not make matter disappear. The illusion affected only her sight; a Bidoof would be much smaller than he was, and the image of one would not be able to encompass his entire body. She had only placed her head against his own, but if she went farther, if she traced his form... would she be able to feel him, past the mirage?
She made no move, but merely stayed there, her breath warm and filling the space between them. She could test her theory, but she didn't want to have to: she hoped he would remove his guise without his trainer's bidding, if only for her.

Auron watched as Parth came closer. She was so close but yet she didn't close the distance to actually touch him. His resolve to keep up the illusion wavered as did the illusion. The illusion wavered so much that it dropped for a few minutes.
Doyle hadn't been paying attention and was instead focused on somehow pelting something from his pockets at Genesis. He finally noticed the distinct lack of battle noise and looked at the pokemon. His eyes narrowed as he saw Auron's illusion was down. He didn't think that the zorua had been hit so the fact that the illusion was down was bad. "AURON!"
Auron jumped when he heard Doyle yell out. His ears and tail went down and the illusion went up immediately. Normally for Parth he would keep it down, but when his trainer is this mad.... well it was best to listen. To try and make up for it he tried to calm him mind but it mostly was filled with thoughts of Parth.

Parthenius gave a pleased cry and nuzzled Auron, so happy she thought she would burst. She stayed with him as long as she could, but Doyle's cry had startled her as much as it did her companion, and she drew back with a jump as Auron's illusion returned.
Then, shadows blew past her, their direction and speed signifying they were likely inanimate objects her trainer was swiftly and ruthlessly throwing above the field, back towards Doyle. Apparently, her trainer still had some sort of vendetta over a pretzel incident.
With a shake of her head, she returned her attention back to the task at hand. It was obvious their trainers were looking for a practice battle between the two of them, and she would not risk Auron getting rebuked for her actions again.
Giving an apologetic bark, she smashed the floor with her paw and sent the resulting broken chunks of cement hurtling towards her comrade.

Doyle put his goggles on so he wouldn't get hit in the eye like a certain someone. He caught one of the objects and the other hit the wall behind him. Another hit him in the leg. He raised a brow and then threw the one he caught back. Fine if she wasn't to start a throwing war then so be it.
Auron was happy to be nuzzled and would have nuzzled her back but everything had happened so fast he didn't have time to. Hearing her bark he looked at her for a moment not understanding. He gave a yelp when the cement came at him and hit him hard. He hit the next chuck sending it back.

Parthenius yelped when the blow struck. She was short and stocky and did not fall, but she feared an ugly bruise by the end of it.
Ignoring the throwing war raging over her own head, she smashed the floor and sent another piece towards her foe.

Auron also ignored the throwing war that was rampaging on. He was hit with some pieces of the floor but some he managed to counter. "Watch out!" He called trying to make it sound ferocious. He didn't mind if he lost and got hurt but he hated seeing Parth get hurt. He only sounded ferocious so Doyle wouldn't suspect anything.

Parthenius tilted her ears back and smiled to show her silent appreciation, recognizing Auron's intent for what it was. She was able to defend herself better against his latest counter, and she retaliated with another Rock Smash.

Auron was hit pretty hard in return. However that was okay with him as that meant the battle was almost over. He smiled back as he countered some of the pieces of cement.

Parthenius made a sudden turn to dodge the block Auron had sent her way, her fur standing on end as it just barely passed her. Automatically, she dealt an earth-shattering blow to the field, sending pieces of stone flying out from the impact.

Auron still had a smile on when he was hit with her last attack. He went down and didn't have the energy to get back up. The illusion was long gone destroyed in that first attack.
Doyle finally noticed the battle was over and threw one last thing at Genesis: a pokeball of all this. He only hoped that it would hit her in the head (and silently wondered if it would work on her) and leave a good bruise or lump. He looked down at Auron and shook his head. "Training Auron. And lots of it." He simply said to his pokemon. He wasn't happy at all with how Auron acted during this battle.
