Lemartis had heard word of emerald dragon in the past and knew that he stood a good chance of defeating it with his powers of flight and flame manipulation, the problem was going to be that the emerald dragon was not easy to find even though the mountain it was known to live on was, all you had to do was look for the massive groups of dragons flying around it every day and so he began his quest to the Misty hills of Boralis to slay the beast and bring back a fang to prove his kill

after a three days walk I reached the mountain of dragons was easy enough to get to though it was a false mountain there was and outer ring of mountains that spread at least a fifty mile diameter surrounding the mountain home to the dragons. between the base of the actual mountain and the outer ring a forest that looked as dense and dangerous as fighting the emerald dragon itself. "this is going to be interesting" I thought to myself.
while standing on the peaks of the outer ring I decided to see if there was a less dense path to the base of the real mountain, while looking I noticed that there a small column of smoke coming up from an especially dense part of the forest. "there's no way someone lives on this plain.", deciding that was the best location to start I headed in the direction that I saw the smoke in hopes of meeting someone that would be able to give me some information on the emerald dragon.

apon reaching the floor of the plain Lemarties realized this was no ordinary forest the trees were taller than anything he had ever witnessed they dwarfed the tallest structures seen by man ten fold. this was a place that could house thousands of dragons in the trees alone like birds, Lemaries knew that he would have to be on guard because the scale of this place meant that we that even the small dragons that he would encounter would be larger than a house, which meant that things would only get bigger more fierce and dangerous the closer he got to the mountain.
doubts hit him briefly, and then Lemarties realized why no one had ever killed the emerald dragon, because they died trying to reach it not form fighting it, but this forest was nothing in comparison to having to fight Artemis and her forest he was sent to. once he was done taking in the forest he regained his bearings he headed in the general direction of where he saw the smoke, whilst moving thought the forest he saw signs if life everywhere he especially took notice of char marks and signs of animals being dragged off the ground into the air

after about 3 miles of walking he began to feel eyes on him some form the ground most form the trees, Lemarties knew it wouldn't be long before the curiosity got the better of one of the creatures following him on the ground or one of the dragons up above.
after a few more feet a huge boar the size of a small car came charging at him, but he was already aware of its direction and speed, quickly rolling aside the boar missed him by a mile, by the time he had recoverd the second charge was almost on him this time at his back, he quickly jumped and lashed a whip of fire around the boars neck making is squeal, and topple over in pain form the flames, after it fell Lemaries quickly drew his sword and drove it into the pigs eye and into its brain giving it a quick death
but the fight was not over by a long shot after that cry from the boar eyes form everywhere were watching now and after its death form such a small prey in comparison the boars hunters were bound to make an attempt at him.

not knowing where his next enemy was coming form he created 5 small balls of flame and bean to spin them around himself while he tried to remove his sword from the boars skull suddenly his flames grew into a spinning pillar of flames that was being fed by the dragon that was tying to roast him to a crisp, the only thing he could do now as push the flames out enough to confuse the dragon locate it and try to make a fast counter attack.
after freeing his sword he did what he planed dispersing the flames all around him catching some of the trees surrounding him on fire, the dragon was hovering about 20 ft above and away form his 4 o'clock staring confused why its prey was not dead, Lemarties took a quick glance at it, it was only a little bigger than the boar he had just killed brown and had a tail with 10 spikes running on either side in a V, it was little more than a baby no wonder its flames were so easy to manipulate and disperse,
he was not here to kill this dragon so he would avoid it if possible, that thought almost got him killed because at that moment it swung its tail quickly and 2 of the spikes fired off the end of its tail straight for his chest, he quickly pared one if the spiked as he moved close to the dragon, once he was close enough Lemarites lashed his fire whip around one of the dragons legs and began to pull it down to the ground as he did it spat more flames and fired two more spikes the flames were easy enough to stop but he had to take the full impact of on of the spikes with his sword sending a bone shattering reverberation though his body," I cant believe that even this small of a dragon can be so ferocious" he said aloud. he quickly pulled the dragon down with one last effort, once it was on the ground quickly ran from its front leg where it was lashed to behind its opposite wing and over the top so id could not go airborne again, once on its back he pulled causing the dragon to topple over he then quickly ran around the dragons neck and joined the whip on its back once it was successfully restrained Lemarties jumped down and walked to look the dragon in the eyes he saw rage pain, but most importantly fear, seeing these he made the whip dissipate freeing the dragon, as it stood it never took its eyes off of him as it flew up and away. Lemarties then continued to move in his original direction hoping to find another person in these woods

after walking for what seemed like hours the light was fading form the day Lemarties decided that it would be best to find shelter for the night there would be no time for him to find food and water till the morning so doing what he could he decided to make a quick shelter by using his flames to burn a small but comfortable hole in a tree trunk raised about eight feet off the ground, he then covered it with a weaved together door of sticks and leafs.

Lemarties awoke the next morning to the sounds of comotion outside of his hide away, it was what sounded like two dragons fighting over something pbobly there breakfast moving his makeshift door he saw that he was right it was tow near full sized dragons picking at the carsous of some dead animail he wasnt able to decifier what it was becaue it was mostly just a pile of bones fleash and bones, the smell of blood was extreemly strong so they probobly didnt smell him which was good but he could only imagin how is old comrad kitsuni would have reacted to this, deciding this was going to be his best time to get out of the area he quickly moved from the tree and in the opisit direction of the two dragons, why not avoid the confirntation and save his strength for the real challenge that was ahead.
he had gone quite a few miles in the other direction when he realized he neede to eat something and find some watter if he was going to make it to the mountian in that the emerald dragon was on, so Lemartis began to looks for signs of watter by checking the trees for moss and wet sections of dirt he thought he found a general direction of where watter was, if he was right it was fart off still and wuld be at least a good days hike, that was not getting him any closer to the mountian.

after most of the day Lemarties was tired and really needed to find some kind of nourishment he was reluctant to use the trees and plants of this forest for any kind of food or water because this forest was unfamiliar to him and if he decided on the wrong plant to eat it would kill him, lucky for him he just so happened to be coming up on a lake where he could get some water and maybe some food by means of fish.
coming up on the lake it looked like the water was alive and moving beyond its normal limits, so he slowed and tried to observe what was happening, it was one of two things one was a water mage the other was going to be an elemental creature. once he was closer he saw it was an elemental that was chasing a woman down by the bank of the water, Lemarties notaced she was holding a bucket and water satchel, "so people do live in this forest, lets see if she can give me information on the emerald dragon" . needing help information Lemartis leapt out form his cover flew over the lake straight tward the elemental drew his sword and encircled it in a raging flame, as he reached the elemental he slashed it in half moving straight through it creating a cloud of steam and landing on the shore a few feet from the woman who was not staring at him with a smirk on her face.

" you really think it going to be that easy to kill," she said
as she did Lemartis was grabbed and then consumed by a mas of water he had been absorbed into the regenerated elemental he decided there was only one thing he could do to stop it form regenerating and that was to evaporate all the water he cold so he released the a huge amount of flames vaporizing the elemental for the second time then directed his attention to the lake itself evaporating more than half of the water in it and killing a great deal of fish while he was at it. after he had rid the lake of more than half its water the elemental was unable to regenerate and he was left with dirty water to drink and fish that were not going to be worth eating because they were all half exploded from the rapid boiling they had just received.
once he was done he looked over and there sat the woman that was being attacked smiling at him as if it had been some sort of test for him and set up. she chuckled and said " follow me I will take you to a place where you can eat and drink and regain your strength," lemarties was reluctant to follow but his hunger and thirst made it easy to accept this stranger.

following this strange woman made Lemarties wonder who she was and he was surprised how calm she was acting in the forest she showed no fear and walked around like she owned everything, it was quite mesmerizing. as he was about to ask the question of who she was he was stopped by her saying
" your probably wondering who I am, and how I survive in this forest, am I wrong" she said
" no in fact I was about to ask you that very question along with why you show no fear at all of this place and what lives in it as well as why you were not angry about how I got rid of that elemental, that lake must have been your closest source to your shelter and......."
" all will be answered in due time" she interrupted, " for now just follow me and we can talk when we reach my cottage"
with that there was silence and all Lemartis could do was think about things and stare at this woman who as he was beginning to realize was extremely attractive, tall, thin, curvy and clad in snug fitting dark purple clothing with long jet black hair he almost couldn't take his eyes off her.
after about a mile of walking they reached her cottage it was a small house with things hanging form all over the pace mostly dragon bones, scales, teeth and other sorts of things then he realized that she must have killed all the dragons that were in pieces here that was why she was not afraid which meant she had some kind of powers the question was what and was she going to use them on him or not

as the entered the cottage Lemarties looked around and saw bottles, charms, amulets and many other things he was about to ask her what it all was but again he was beaten to being able to speak first
"you must be wondering what all this is" she said, "sit I will bring you some food and water and we will talk, I will explain everything and then you can tell me who you are and why you are in this forest."
what choice did he have he sat at one of the only clear spaces on the small table covered with all sorts of things including an ornament of some kind that was a dragon wrapped around what looked like a glass ball, she then moved off to an adjacent room where he heard clattering of glass and moving of dowers, he then heard her call out "and don't touch anything unless you feel you can replace it, which I doubt."
after a minute or tow she rentered the room with a small loaf of bread and a glass and set them on the table and said "this is a thank you for getting rid of that water elemental" she sat and began to explain things to him "now if you have not figured it out yet I am a sorcereres of dragons, I live here in peace with them, there life force fuels my powers and every new dragon born in this forest strengthens me and extends me life, you might be able to say I am connected to them, I can read where any particular dragon is how its feeling and what its doing at any given time in this place, by being connected to them I am also granted some of the elemental powers of the dragons, such as fire, ice, and wind."Lemarties was not expecting that kind of answer but he definitely had questions for her but again she continued "now I have told you about myself I would like for you to tell me who you are and why you are here"
after a short pause he answered "my name is Lemarties where I come form is to long of a story but if I were to classify myself I could be called a half demon, and I am here to kill the emerald dragon" the sorcereres gave him a look of surprise, disbelief and anger all at once, "I was wondering once I saw you home if how you were connected to this place and how you could help me or answer any questions I have, and it seems you can. I would like to know how to find and defeat the emerald dragon and any other information you can give me on it."
the sorcereres stared at him with a look like " you have to be kidding me" but after taking a closer look she saw that he was serious. she then got up went into a different room and quickly brought out a map and small bag, when she reenterd the room she swept everything off of half of the table and placed the dragon ornament off to the side and the map in the center, and scattered what was contained in the bag on the map and said, "what you are about to see will answer all the questions you have except one. but if I help and show you this I will require a favor from you in return. are you willing to do this"
"yes"
she gave him a malicious smile and said,"then let us begin"

the sorceress picked up one of the peace's that came out of the bag and it looked like a small thin peace of bone, she then pricked her arm covering the tip in blood. reaching across the mat and placing it over top the dragon ornament letting the drop of blood on the bone drip into the statues mouth.
it then sprang to life crawling around the glass orb that it had been protecting, picked it up and opened its mouth, the orb then began to glow red, orange, yellow, and finally a burning bright white blinding Lemarties to the point of even when he closed his eyes the light shown through.
instantly the light stopped and when he was finally able to see he saw something that amazed even him. he was thousands of miles up above the highest peak of the mountain and he saw hundreds of thousands of dragons that were illuminated in every color of the rainbow, he then heard the sorceress voice "this is what is called the eye of the dragon. I will now filter the this vision so that you can only see the emerald dragon"
but she didn't need to Lemarties had already spotted it he just had to orient himself to where he was in retrospect and he would be golden
" now I will show you where we are located what the emerald dragon looks like and how to kill him"
a small purple circle showed in the woods which he assumed was his location. by the looks of it the dragon was about another 2 days form where he was now. his vision was then moved to a closer view of the dragon itself he saw it perched atop a pillar of rock eating another small dragon and a large carcus at the base of the pillar. the dragon then roared and blasted fire right to him blinding him in a flash of flames which placed him back in the small cottage of the sorceress the statue was glowing red and the dragon holding it was moving back around the orb covering it with its wing.
the sorceress was sitting there staring at him and said "now I have shown you what you wanted to see, now I will tell you what I want in return for this"

Lemarties was scheptical of this and if accepting to do this was going to be the death of him but he knew after seeing this woman's power he was little match for her so he knew he had to accept. " I will accept your term's in exchange for this information what is it that you desire of me"
" As I have told you the emerald dragon is like all dragons connected to my life force and my powers, but not all the dragons in this place are on my side as it were. The emerald dragon is one of those that hates me mainly because it was here before my time, it is also the most powerful dragon on this mountain and one of the only ones that refuses to share its powers with me. so if it were to pass and I was to raise one of its offspring under my influence then it would grow to take the emerald dragons place and I would be all the stronger."
lemarties figured it would be something a little more sinister but it was to protect the place that she lived and the beings she loved " okay, so what do you want for me to capture its young or something."
"Even easier I know that the emerald dragon has recently laid an egg most of the time it is unable to protect it long enough for it to hatch so I would like for you to first make sure that the egg is safe and once you know that you can confront the emerald dragon killing it and bringing me the egg." the sorceress moved from the table to a small cabinet filled with vials that had liquids of assorted colors in them she came back with two that had different liquids in them and handed them to him. "These will help you to kill the dragon one will temporarily give you the eyes of the dragon in your mind and one eye so you can see what it sees, use it to locate the egg steal it. the other will give you strength and stamina that is ten times what you could with your own will, but use this only before the final blow because if you don't your death is assured for after its effects wear off your body will have been extended beyond measure and you will most likely be unable to move let alone fend off a dragon. I have given you the tools and the information now all that is left is the task itself, go now and only come back to me as a spirit or with the egg and a fang of the emerald dragon"
with that lemarties was pushed out and hit with a gust of wind that felt as though a dragon had done a mighty flap of its wings sent flying toward the direction that the emerald dragon was located.

when lemaries finally came to he was covered in leaves and the ground was wet underneath him and the ground was compressed beneath him, he assumed that he had been knocked out for a good while so having been knocked cold and not knowing where he was he decided to fly above the trees and and see where he was
after getting above the trees he saw the spot of the emerald dragons layer directly in front of him on the mountin all he had to do was go straight, seeing as he had most likely been out for a day or two and the sorceress would be wondering where he was he decided to fly the gap to the base of the mountain.
after a about an hour he reached the base of the mountain and decided it would be best to save his strength for the pending fight with the emerald dragon it wasn't long before he saw his first nest and a few baby dragons that were so frightnend by his presence they flew off probably for the first time, and out of nowhere with the dead silence of and owel in hunting a mouse in the dead of night he was struck by a massive club-like tail and slammed into a rockface when he shook off the blow that he barily bolicked and felt as if it broke a rib or two, he was looking into the face of a brown dragon that looked to be a grown version of the baby dragons he spooked and its eyes blazed with I firey rage and an intent to kill its wings were not that impressive and it had thick armoring all around it Lemartis took a stance to defend himself holding his sword to pary any blow the dragon decide to dish out,.....it sized up for a strike opened its mouth as of to breath fire, and shot a spike moving at bullet speed luckily it missed. it looked as though it was bone but with rock and mud surrounding it creating an outer layer. this was not good so Lemartis even though he did not like it and nor would the sorceress, had to kill this dragon and quickly so as soon as it sized up again to fire another spike he lunged at it jumping over it and sinking his sword deep into its side right in front if its hind leg. it quickly shook him off spun and hit him a second time with that massive club-like tail, but Lemarties was ready for it this time taking the impact with his sword and letting if deflect off but as it truned to face him again it did not hesitate to fire a spike lemarties ducked unged forward and drove his sword into the dragons head from the underside of its mouth into its skull and brain it gave one lase violent shake trying to injure him again and fired one last spike which was split in half across Lemarties' blade and fell dead.
with that behind him it was he moved on knowing that even more dragons were probably going to attack him till he was finally at his destination

after about another six hours and 15 encounters of dragons trying to kill him Lemaries the dragons began to back away and flee when they saw him, he was covered in blood and bleeding himself. apaun reaching the summet he found it to be very quiet and calm slightly vegetated and not as bleak as he had imagined. looking around he tried to find a cave or something telling him where the emerald dragons nest could be. after a little searching he found it, in it there were 4 large eggs the size of a small dog. he quickly picked one of them up and decided to find a place to hide till the emerald dragon returned.
luckly he was able to find a small outcropping the turned into a very little cave, and hid the egg in there surrounding it with some of the brush he found in the area he then took a position near the egg with a vantage point of the entire peak of the mountain and sat to lay and wait for the emerald dragon to return and when it was in its rage he would have to fight and kill it
