Work, work, and more work, Roch thought as he yawned. He was crossing the campus, heading for the main gate. He needed to get out of the school. What he WANTED, he thought, was one of those massive cinnamon rolls they had at that fussy little restaurant in town--the one that was so ghouly that no straight male would dare go in there alone--

....... He needed a ghoul, he realized abruptly. If it looked like he was out on a date, people wouldn't think a thing about it. Even if the place DID have too much glitter and pink in it. A ghouly ghoul, he decided as he set out to find one along the way off campus. One that looked like they'd like that sort of--

"Found one," he said, catching sight of a Valkyrie he didn't know. She looked like the type that would enjoy this place--and more importantly, he would get his cinnamon roll!

He headed for Azmodel, completely ignoring the fact he'd never seen her before, and grinned. "Hi. Can you do me a HUGE favor?"

"Go to lunch with me!" he said cheerfully. "See, there's this place in town that I jackin' LOVE--well, no, the place itself is kinda ghouly, really, what I love is the cinnamon rolls. They're huge, like, massively huge," he said, making a shape with his hands indicating a plate size. "But I can't go alone. I need an obvious reason' t'be in a place like that. My treat!" he offered.

"Mm? Roch Scythe," Roch said, digging through his pockets--then going still for a second. His deadit card was missing. Course, it wasn't his, it was his granddad's, but--there was one person that would do that to a guy like him, he thought. Terra had totally robbed him again.

Shrugging off his little sister's bad habits, he dug out his old pouch of seeds, mentally checking the weight. Yeah, he was fine. He still needed to get the card back, though.

"C'mon, I only got so much time before I gotta get back t'work," he said, motioning her to follow him to the gate. He stopped at the dead bushes next to the wall and pulled a motorcycle out from behind them.

He looked at her curiously for a moment. "I'm a hob," he said finally. "That means I got a mentor, which means I do side work as a trick or treater in trainin, then I'm the president of the FMC--the fright music club, which means I do work runnin' booths, other sortta stuff for that, an' I'm the lead guitarist an' the guy that runs a band called BLP--who's doin' part of the music for prom."

He figured if she was a hunter in disguise they probably already knew that higher up, so it wasn't that vital of information. "Yeah, I got work as a student. You part of any clubs yet?"

"Well, yeah, but I've been here some three years, while you just got here," Roch said. "Y'gotta get out, join whatever interests you, meet people, it ain't hard!" He handed her one of the helmets, then mounted the bike. "Get on behind me, an' hold onto my waist," he said. "This way we'll get there faster."

"Relax," Roch said as he started up the motorcycle and kicked up the kickstand. "I'm the guy that built this--I ain't gonna crash." He took off at a mild speed down the path to town, getting there far faster than they would have by walking. He'd been serious about not taking too long. Not that he would point that out. He just had deadlines to meet.

"So Azmodel," he said as he parked the bike outside a very ghouly looking cafe. "You're... a Valk, right? Or some sort of harpy?"

"Nah, there's tons of stuff I can't do," he said. "I actually had my dad's help building it--and got most of the parts from a pal back home. And yeah, I'm a grim reaper," he said, motioning for her to get off as he took his helmet off and kicked the kickstand into place.

"And just focus on the fact that the cinnamon rolls are good enough to leave this place running," he added as he grimaced up at the building.

"Desu's not a teacher," Roch said, a bit surprised at the idea. "Desu's a trick or treater. They hang around the school, hopin' t'convince kids to become trick or treaters when they're hobs. She might lead trips, stuff like that, but she ain't a teacher. An' also, if she ran this place the tables would be all broken an' scattered around," he said, heading inside.

It wasn't QUITE as pink on the inside. There was a lot more purple. But regardless, Roch moved to Azmodel's side. "There's a table in the purple corner over there that's empty. Let's sit there."
