Ulfric was ready. Following a handful of defeats at the paws of this one lion, the large and determined Rogue was not going to take another one. No, this time he was going all out. No more plans, no more biding, and no more excuses. He would not accept another defeat.
Damn it.
He padded up to the border, the same area he had come to all the times before. He assumed it was wear the other did his patrol, or something, and he would be there to meet him once more. Drawing a deep breath, Ulfric let out a roar that made the pebbles at his paws shudder with its intensity.
He was ready to fight and more than that, he was ready to win.

Olaf knew that roar- he knew it very well indeed. The male that kept coming to challenge the pride. He had to make sure he was the one to fight him again! there wasn't a better opponent out there- he was going to make sure he won again, too. He charged over to the other lion, laughing smugly. "Hahah! We're all gonna get used to hearing that roar of yours, and you're not even part of the pride yet!" He should be, though. He knew the guy was strong. However, Olaf was not really one to go easy, and he would sooner die than throw a fight. Ulfric was going to have to beat him fair and square if he really wanted in.

"You should get used to it. You'll be hearing it a lot once I'm inside this pride." Battles always made him want to do more with himself. He had strength, he had skill. He could do a lot of things when he was finally allowed past these borders, and he was eager now to do them.
He hadn't been this eager for anything in a long time. It was good to get the blood boiling again. Find something that gave him a little purpose.
The lion growled and didn't opt to waste any time this time. He charged, and he charged at full power. He was not going to hold anything back, but he was also not going to be cocky and let his guard down.

It looked like the battle was in full swing in seconds, and before he knew what had hit him, he was trying to get out of the way of an attack. He was surprised, at first, but it quickly turned into enjoyment. Oh yes, this was just the kind of fight he had been hoping for when he heard that roar. This guy never disappointed. More than that, it seemed like he was really going all out this time, too. He was going to need to pick up his game if he wanted to keep up. He had already been caught off his guard- it was not a good start. Jumping back, he took a swipe at the other's front paws, trying to knock him off his footing.

Ulfric took the hit right in the face, lowering his head to take the hit right in the face. He had already braced for it already and was not going to let the sudden burst of stars take his head out of the game. He lunged at the other lion again.
He was intent on winning, and he would only stop this time if he was thoroughly defeated.
Snarling, he made to swipe his paw as hard as he could at the lion's side, wanting to do some damage or at least hit him hard enough to get him off of his top form. It was his turn to get a good lead in, and he was giving it all he had.

Did that dude just block an attack with his face?! Holy crap- it seemed like he had turned up the bad assery. Olaf was knocked off his feet from the attack, thrown to the dirt with a heavy thud. It seemed like Ulfric was not giving him any chances today- he wanted to get his a** in the pride. Dazed, he struggled back to his paws, shaking his head before looking quickly back at his opponent. It seemed like things had gone wrong from the get-go, and he was now playing catch up. Oh well, he liked a challenge, right? But this... was pretty rough indeed.

Ulfric growled, seeing that he had the other lion on the back foot. That was good, but he had to press it. He could not take any chances this time: he was going to force his way into this damn pride, if only because he hadn't been allowed in yet.
It was a matter of stubbornness now.
He charged at the other lion and snapped his jaw at the other's leg. He was going to rip him apart if he had the chance to, so it was probably not a good idea to get him as worked up as he currently was. He could lose himself in fights like this.
It was probably going to be bloody.

Holy crap, this was really intense. It made Olaf feel very alive and happy, but at the same time utterly horrified that he might be killed at any moment. He hadn't been in a fight where he thought he might die in a very long time. Actually, he wasn't really sure if he liked that or not. He pulled his paw away just in time to avoid getting it snapped off, his eyes widening as he pulled back to put some distance between them. Oh boy, that was a little too close for his liking. An injury like that wouldn't just lose him the battle, it had the potential of keeping him from doing his job in the future. it was the kind of thing he really needed to avoid. Snarling, he sprang at the other, landing almost on top of him for a close-combat scuffle.

Ulfric watched Olaf as he leaped, snarling as he dropped down to the ground to try and get his feet up to meet him. It meant turning onto his back, but with it down to the floor it at least beat having a lion on it. It was half way to his goal before Olaf landed.
Close enough.
"I'm not walking away without joining this pride!" Ulfric roared as he pulled himself around and slashed wildly at the other, though he was not out of control here. He knew what he had to do, he was just throwing every hit he could in an effort to overwhelm the other, get him to slip up, and get him to fall to defeat.
He could almost feel his victory on the wind.

Olaf had managed to land on the other, but he wasn't so sure he had managed to do the smart thing, in the end. It looked like the male was getting the better of him, even when the attack had started out as his idea. He growled as he took a few slashes, using his claws to try and get in a few good hits, too. Even if he did seem to want to get into the pride, and was fighting hard to accomplish his mission, he was going to have to work harder than that! "We'll see about that!" huffed the smaller lion in return, though he knew he was losing steam. He had started off on the wrong paw and had not been given a chance to make it up. He took a moment to chomp on the other's ear, to try and get him to back off so he could re-position himself.

Ulfric was not a fan of getting his hear bitten, and the pain made him roar in frustration. He hauled his massive body upwards to throw the other lion off of him, swinging his paw as hard as he could for Olaf's face while he did so.
He was going for the last of it. He needed to get the other down and for the count, though he was aware enough now of who he was fighting to know that he was no fighting for his life, and he didn't need to be deadly or cheat-y to win.
He wasn't looking to ruin Olaf's career, just gain entry to the pride.
"Admit defeat!" he bellowed furiously, his voice echoing as it had done when he roared before.

Well, that had been the final nail in his coffin. The reaction hadn't been what he had been anticipating, and he ended up getting tossed far from the other by brute force alone. Stunned, the male took a moment to blink back the spots in his eyes before he slowly sat himself up from the ground. That last smack to the face had been a doozy, and he was pretty sure he had blacked out for at least a couple of seconds. "Alright, alright!" He huffed, stumbling to his feet again, "you win this time! No way I could compete with you fighting like that!" He shook his head, getting rid of the last of the fog, before offering a laugh. "Guess this means welcome to the pride, my loud friend."
